Abstract
The application of covalent organic frameworks (COFs) for the photocatalytic reduction of CO2 is mostly limited by severe charge recombination and low sunlight utilization. Herein, a triazine-based COF with an electron-rich and large π-conjugated system (TCOF) was employed as a building block and integrated with CuInS2 (CIS) to construct a noble-metal-free and high-efficiency photocatalyst for CO2 reduction. The in situ growth of CIS nanosheets on TCOF creates a p-n heterojunction, named CIS@TCOF. Compared with TCOF, the CIS@TCOF heterostructure exhibits a dramatically boosted photocatalytic performance in the reduction of CO2. The produced HCOOH yield over 10 wt % CIS@TCOF can be up to 171.2 μmol g-1 h-1 under visible light irradiation with good reproducibility, which is about 3 times as high as that over TCOF. Further in-depth studies indicate that the introduction of CIS not only enhances the visible light utilization but also restrains the recombination of photogenerated electron-hole pairs efficiently and facilitates the photoinduced charge transfer via the p-n heterojunction system due to the unique structural and compositional features. This research shows the great potential of COFs as efficient photocatalytic carbon fixation materials and provides a versatile route to construct semiconductor-COF heterostructures for photocatalysis.

Abstract
Hydrogen production, catalytic organic synthesis, carbon dioxide reduction, environmental purification, and other major fields have all adopted photocatalytic technologies due to their eco-friendliness, ease of use, and reliance on sunlight as the driving force. Photocatalyst is the key component of photocatalytic technology. Thus, it is of utmost importance to produce highly efficient, stable, visible-light-responsive photocatalysts. CIS stands out among other visible-light-response photocatalysts for its advantageous combination of easy synthesis, non-toxicity, high stability, and suitable band structure. In this study, we took a brief glance at the synthesis techniques for CIS after providing a quick introduction to the fundamental semiconductor features, including the crystal and band structures of CIS. Then, we discussed the ways doping, heterojunction creation, p-n heterojunction, type-II heterojunction, and Z-scheme may be used to modify CIS's performance. Subsequently, the applications of CIS towards pollutant degradation, CO2 reduction, water splitting, and other toxic pollutants remediation are reviewed in detail. Finally, several remaining problems with CIS-based photocatalysts are highlighted, along with future potential for constructing more superior photocatalysts.

Abstract
Reducing the recombination rate of photoexcited electron-hole pairs is always a great challenging work for the photocatalytic technique. In response to this issue, herein, a novel Z-scheme CuInS2/In2O3 with interfacial S-O linkages was synthesized by a hydrothermal and subsequently annealing method. The Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) and X-ray photoelectron spectrometer (XPS) measurements confirmed the formation of covalent S-O bonds between CuInS2 and In2O3. The quenching and electron spin resonance (ESR) tests revealed the Z-scheme transfer route of photogenerated carriers over the CuInS2/In2O3 heterojunctions, which was further verified theoretically via density functional theory (DFT) calculations. As expected, the CuInS2/In2O3 heterojunctions showed significantly boosted photocatalytic activities for lomefloxacin degradation and Cr(vi) reduction under visible light illumination compared with the bare materials. Accordingly, a synergistic photocatalytic mechanism of Z-scheme heterostructures and interfacial S-O bonding was proposed, in which the S-O linkage could act as a specific bridge to modify the Z-scheme manner for accelerating the interfacial charge transmission. Furthermore, the CuInS2/In2O3 heterojunction also exhibited excellent performance perceived in the stability and reusability tests. This work provides a new approach for designing and fabricating novel Z-scheme heterostructures with a high-efficiency charge transfer route.

Abstract
The construction of direct Z-scheme heterojunctions with high photocatalytic degradation ability is important for wastewater treatment, but there are still many unsolved challenges. In this article, we report the fabrication of a Z-scheme P-TiO2/g-C3N4 (CNPT-X) heterostructure by the calcination method. Under simulated sunlight, CNPT-X composites are found to show excellent degradation performance against sulfonamide antibiotics sulfadiazine (SD), sulfamethazine (SM2), sulfamonomethoxine (SMM), and sulfamethoxazole (SMZ). CNPT-3 (400 mg L-1) can be used to degrade four sulfa antibiotics within 90 min, with a degradation rate as high as 99%, which is higher than that for P-TiO2 and g-C3N4 alone. The internal electron transfer paths and mechanisms for the composites are revealed by ESR radical detection experiments, XPS energy spectrum shifts, valence band positions and active material quenching experiments. Furthermore, the degradation products are analyzed by GC-MS, and four possible degradation pathways for sulfonamide pollutants are proposed. This photocatalyst provides new insights into the fundamental aspects of the photocatalytic degradation mechanism for composite pollutants, as well as new ideas for practical environmental applications.

Abstract
The photoreduction of CO2 to chemical fuels represents a promising technology to mitigate the current energy dilemma and global warming problems. Unfortunately, the original photocatalysts suffer from many side reactions and a poor CO2 conversion efficiency. The rational combination of active co-catalyst with pristine photocatalysts for promoting the adsorption and activation of CO2 is of vital importance to tackle this grand challenge. Herein, we rationally designed a SnIn4S8 nanosheet photocatalyst simultaneously equipped with CuAu alloys. The experimental results proved that the CuAu alloy can trap the electrons and enhance the separation and transport efficiency of the photogenerated carrier in the photocatalyst, alleviating the kinetical difficulty of the charge transfer process because of the preferable localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR). Furthermore, the CuAu alloy works as the synergistic site to increase the CO2 adsorption and activation capacity. The optimized CuAu-SnIn4S8 photocatalyst exhibited a superior performance with CO generation rates of 27.87 μmol g−1 h−1 and CH4 of 7.21 μmol g−1 h−1, which are about 7.6 and 2.5 folds compared with SnIn4S8. This work highlights the critical role of alloy cocatalysts in boosting a CO2 activation and an efficient CO2 reduction, thus contributing to the development of more outstanding photocatalytic systems.

Abstract
Development of efficient photocatalysts for efficient recalcitrant organic pollutants degradation is of great significance. Herein, the step-doped disulfide vacancies S-scheme Cu3SnS4/L-BiOBr (CTS/L-BiOBr) heterojunction photocatalyst was prepared for ciprofloxacin (CIP) degradation. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analysis, ultraviolet photo-electron spectroscopy (UPS) analysis, band structure and dominant radicals' identification together verified that the transfer of photogenerated carriers conformed to the S-scheme mechanism. Benefited from the interfacial electric field (IEF) of the S-scheme heterojunction and incorporation of L-cysteine with introducing S-vacancies and surface functional groups (-NH2, -COO-), photogenerated charges generation and separation of the CTS/L-BiOBr(10) were greatly improved. With ·OH and h+ as dominant reactive species, CIP removal reached 93% using CTS/L-BiOBr(10) within 180 min of visible light irradiation, which was 3.5 times and 2.6 times of pristine Cu3SnS4 and L-BiOBr, respectively. Moreover, possible CIP degradation pathways were proposed and the degradation intermediates ecotoxicity were evaluated. This study could provide reference for designing efficient S-scheme photocatalysts for recalcitrant wastewater treatment.
