Photocatalytic Hydrogen Production by Stable CsPbBr 3 @PANI Nanoparticles in Aqueous Solution

Fluorescent solid-state strips based on SiO2 shell-stabilized perovskite nanocrystals applying for magnetic aptasensing detection of aflatoxin B1 toxin in food

In this work, the perovskite fluorescent nanocrystals (CsPbBr3) were successfully synthesized and wrapped with SiO2 shell, utilized for the assembly of solid-state detection strip capable of conveniently and specifically detection of aflatoxin B1 (AFB1). The SiO2 coating aimed to enhance the stability of CsPbBr3 nanocrystals. The resulting CsPbBr3@SiO2 material exhibited remarkable fluorescence properties, and further self-assembled onto solid-state plate, generating AFB1-specific quenched fluorescence at a specific wavelength of 515 nm. When combined with the capture of AFB1 by magnetic nanoparticles conjugated with aptamers (MNPs-Apt), it was achieved the good separation and specific detection of AFB1 toxin in food matrices. The constructed fluorescent solid-state detection strip based on CsPbBr3@SiO2 exhibited good response to AFB1 toxin within a linear range of 0.1-100 ng mL-1 and an impressive detection limit as low as 0.053 ng mL-1. This presents a new strategy for the rapid screening and convenient detection of highly toxic AFB1.

Host-Guest Interaction Mediated Perovskite@Metal-Organic Framework Z-Scheme Heterojunction Enabled Paper-Based Photoelectrochemical Sensing

Exploring the high-performance photoelectronic properties of perovskite quantum dots (QDs) is desirable for paper-based photoelectrochemical (PEC) sensing;however, challenges remain in improving their stability and fundamental performance. Herein, a novel Z-scheme heterostructure with host-guest interaction by the confinement of CH3NH3PbBr3 QDs within Cu3(BTC)2 metal-organic framework (MOF) crystal (MAPbBr3@Cu3(BTC)2) is successfully constructed on the paper-based PEC device for ultrasensitive detection of Ochratoxin A (OTA), with the assistance of the exciton-plasmon interaction (EPI) effect. The host-guest interaction is estabilished by encapsulating MAPbBr3 QDs as guests within Cu3(BTC)2 MOF as a host, which prevents MAPbBr3 QDs from being damaged in the polar system, offering access to long-term stability with high-performance PEC properties. Benefiting from the precise alignment of energy levels, the photogenerated charge carriers can migrate according to the Z-scheme charge-transfer pathway under the driving force of the internal electric field, achieving a high photoelectric conversion efficiency. Upon OTA recognition, the EPI effect is activated to modulate the exciton response in MAPbBr3 QDs by accelerating radiative decay, finally achieving sensitive OTA sensing with a detection limit of 0.017 pg mL-1. We believe this work renders new insight into designing host-guest Z-scheme heterojunctions in constructing the paper-based PEC sensing platforms for environmental monitoring.

All-inorganic lead halide perovskites for photocatalysis: a review

Nowadays, environmental pollution and the energy crisis are two significant concerns in the world, and photocatalysis is seen as a key solution to these issues. All-inorganic lead halide perovskites have been extensively utilized in photocatalysis and have become one of the most promising materials in recent years. The superior performance of all-inorganic lead halide perovskites distinguish them from other photocatalysts. Since pure lead halide perovskites typically have shortcomings, such as low stability, poor active sites, and ineffective carrier extraction, that restrict their use in photocatalytic reactions, it is crucial to enhance their photocatalytic activity and stability. Huge progress has been made to deal with these critical issues to enhance the effects of all-inorganic lead halide perovskites as efficient photocatalysts in a wide range of applications. In this manuscript, the synthesis methods of all-inorganic lead halide perovskites are discussed, and promising strategies are proposed for superior photocatalytic performance. Moreover, the research progress of photocatalysis applications are summarized; finally, the issues of all-inorganic lead halide perovskite photocatalytic materials at the current state and future research directions are also analyzed and discussed. We hope that this manuscript will provide novel insights to researchers to further promote the research on photocatalysis based on all-inorganic lead halide perovskites.

Photocatalytic CO2 Reduction Coupled with Oxidation of Benzyl Alcohol over CsPbBr3@PANI Nanocomposites

Herein, we successfully prepare conductive polyaniline (PANI)-encapsulated CsPbBr3 perovskite nanocrystals (PNCs) that demonstrate much improved photocatalytic performance and stability toward the CO2 reduction reaction (CRR) coupled with oxidation of benzyl alcohol (BA) to benzaldehyde. Due to the acid-base interaction between CO2 and PANI, CO2 molecules are selectively adsorbed on PANI in the form of carbamate. As a result, the rate of production of CO (rCO) reaches 26.1 μmol g-1 h-1 with a selectivity of 98.1%, which is in good agreement with the rate of oxidation (∼27.0 μmol g-1 h-1) of BA. Such a high reduction/oxidation rate is enabled by the fast electron transfer (∼2.2 ps) from PNCs to PANI, as revealed by femtosecond transient absorption spectroscopy. Moreover, because of the benefit of the encapsulation of PANI, no significant decrease in rCO is observed in a 10 h CRR test. This work offers insight into how to simultaneously achieve improved photocatalytic performance and stability of CsPbX3 PNCs.

An investigation on PANI/NENP-1 composite as a novel photocatalyst for photocatalytic dye wastewater degradation and photocatalytic hydrogen evolution

Integrating nitrogen-enriched nanoporous polytriazine COF on polyaniline nanofiber tube photocatalysts forms a unique interfacial structure for the efficient photocatalytic degradation of dye wastewater and hydrogen evolution under solar light.

Metal Halide Perovskites for Solar Fuel Production and Photoreactions

Photocatalysis is an easily configurable and cost-effective technology for the conversion of solar energy into chemical energy. Recently, increasing attention has been given to metal halide perovskite (MHP) photocatalysts because of the development of stabilization strategies for MHPs under reaction conditions. From this perspective, we first describe several substantial breakthroughs in the photocatalytic application of MHPs. Performance trends in the solar fuel production applications of MHPs, including photocatalytic H₂ generation and photocatalytic CO₂ reduction reactions, are then described. Recent developments to extend the use of MHPs to various photocatalytic organic transformations are also highlighted. Finally, we propose several scientific challenges for the practical implications of MHPs for solar fuel production and various photoreactions.
