Abstract
Intermolecular O-H/M interactions, between a water molecule and square-planar acac complexes ([M(acac)L2]), with different types of L ligands (en, H2O, CO, CN-, and OH-) and different types of metal atoms (Ir(i), Rh(i), Pt(ii), and Pd(ii)) were studied by high level ab initio calculations. Among the studied neutral complexes, the [Pd(acac)(CN)(CO)] complex forms the weakest interaction, -0.62 kcal mol-1, while the [Ir(acac)(en)] complex forms the strongest interaction, -9.83 kcal mol-1, which is remarkably stronger than the conventional hydrogen bond between two water molecules (-4.84 kcal mol-1).

Abstract
The dihydrogen bond-an interaction between a transition-metal or main-group hydride (M-H) and a protic hydrogen moiety (H-X)-is arguably the most intriguing type of hydrogen bond. It was discovered in the mid-1990s and has been intensively explored since then. Herein, we collate up-to-date experimental and computational studies of the structural, energetic, and spectroscopic parameters and natures of dihydrogen-bonded complexes of the form M-H···H-X, as such species are now known for a wide variety of hydrido compounds. Being a weak interaction, dihydrogen bonding entails the lengthening of the participating bonds as well as their polarization (repolarization) as a result of electron density redistribution. Thus, the formation of a dihydrogen bond allows for the activation of both the MH and XH bonds in one step, facilitating proton transfer and preparing these bonds for further transformations. The implications of dihydrogen bonding in different stoichiometric and catalytic reactions, such as hydrogen exchange, alcoholysis and aminolysis, hydrogen evolution, hydrogenation, and dehydrogenation, are discussed.

Abstract
Transition metal hydride complexes are usually amphoteric, not only acting as hydride donors, but also as Brønsted-Lowry acids. A simple additive ligand acidity constant equation (LAC for short) allows the estimation of the acid dissociation constant Ka(LAC) of diamagnetic transition metal hydride and dihydrogen complexes. It is remarkably successful in systematizing diverse reports of over 450 reactions of acids with metal complexes and bases with metal hydrides and dihydrogen complexes, including catalytic cycles where these reactions are proposed or observed. There are links between pKa(LAC) and pKa(THF), pKa(DCM), pKa(MeCN) for neutral and cationic acids. For the groups from chromium to nickel, tables are provided that order the acidity of metal hydride and dihydrogen complexes from most acidic (pKa(LAC) -18) to least acidic (pKa(LAC) 50). Figures are constructed showing metal acids above the solvent pKa scales and organic acids below to summarize a large amount of information. Acid-base features are analyzed for catalysts from chromium to gold for ionic hydrogenations, bifunctional catalysts for hydrogen oxidation and evolution electrocatalysis, H/D exchange, olefin hydrogenation and isomerization, hydrogenation of ketones, aldehydes, imines, and carbon dioxide, hydrogenases and their model complexes, and palladium catalysts with hydride intermediates.

Abstract
Abstract
The interaction between various proton donors (indole, CF3CH2OH, (CF3)2CHOH, (CF3)3COH) and (NNC)PtH hydrido complex (NNC-H=6-(1,1'-dimethylbenzyl)-2,2'-bipyridine) was investigated through low-temperature IR and NMR spectroscopy in combination with density functional theory calculations at the M06 level of theory. The experiment shows formation of very weak hydrogen bonded complexes (Δ HºHB
ca. -1.0 kcal mol-1), which undergo subsequent proton transfer surprisingly easy. Computational analysis of the hydrogen bonded complexes geometry, electronic parameters (obtained by NBO and AIM analysis), and orbital interaction energies shows that all the complexes are better described as bonded to the metal atom. At that in case of weak alcohols (CH3OH, TFE) there is also the additional interaction with the hydride ligand. These computational results allow explaining the observed experimental trends and give the first example of hydrogen bonding to a metal atom in the presence of hydride ligand.

Abstract
Catalysis of hydride transfer by hydridic-to-protonic hydrogen (HHH) bonding in α-hydroxy carbonyl isomerization reactions was examined computationally in the lithium salts of 7-substituted endo-3-hydroxybicyclo[2.2.1]hept-5-en-2-ones. The barrier for intramolecular hydride transfer in the parent system was calculated to be 17.2 kcal/mol. Traditional proton donors, such as OH and NH(3)(+), stabilized the metal cation-bridged transition state by 1.4 and 3.3 kcal/mol, respectively. Moreover, among the conformers of the OH systems, the one in which the proton donor is able to interact with the migrating hydride (H(m)) has an activation barrier lower by 1.3 and 1.7 kcal/mol than the other possible OH conformers. By contrast, the presence of an electronegative group such as F, which disfavors the migration electronically by opposing development of hydridic charge, destabilizes the hydride migration by 1.5 kcal/mol relative to the epimeric exo system. In both ground and transition states the H(m)···H distance decreased with increasing acidity of the proton donor, reaching a minimum of 1.58 Å at the transition state for NH(3)(+). Both Mulliken and NPA charges show enhancement of negative character of the migrating hydride in the cases in which HHH bonding is possible.
