Abstract
In principle, catalytic dehydrogenative silylation and mono/dihydrosilylation tandem reactions of terminal alkynes with hydrosilanes provide gem-disilylated alkenes or gem-trisilylated alkanes, but very little progress has been made. Herein, we report organocalcium-complex-catalyzed dehydrogenative silylation and mono/dihydrosilylation tandem reactions of terminal alkynes with hydrosilanes in one pot, which produce gem-disilylated alkenes in moderate yields and gem-trisilylated alkanes in high yields. We also briefly demonstrate that the synthesized gem-disilylated alkenes can be easily transformed into other organosilanes.

Abstract
A series of tris(trimethylsilylmethyl) yttrium donor adduct complexes was synthesized and fully characterized by X-ray diffraction, 1H/13C/29Si/31P/89Y heteronuclear NMR and FTIR spectroscopies as well as elemental analyses. Treatment of Y(CH2SiMe3)3(thf)x with various donors Do led to complete (Do = TMEDA, DMAP) and partial displacement of THF (Do = NHCiPr, DMPE). Exceptionally large 89Y NMR shifts to low field were observed for the new complexes. Complexes Y(CH2SiMe3)3(tmeda) and Y(CH2SiMe3)3(dmpe)(thf) were chosen to perform surface organometallic chemistry, due to a comparatively higher thermal stability and the availability of the 31P nucleus as a spectroscopic probe, respectively. Mesoporous nanoparticles of the MCM-48-type were synthesized and used as a 3rd generation silica support. The parent and hybrid materials were characterized using X-ray powder diffraction, solid-state-NMR spectroscopy, DRIFTS, elemental analyses, N2-physisorption, and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The presence of surface-bound yttrium alkyl moieties was further proven by the reaction with carbon dioxide. Quantification of the surface silanol population by means of HN(SiHMe2)2-promoted surface silylation is shown to be superior to titration with lithium alkyl LiCH2SiMe3.

Abstract
The activation and catalytic conversion of CO2 is a current topic relating to molecular chemistry and materials science alike. As a transdisciplinary field of research, surface organometallic chemistry (SOMC) might be applicable to perform synergistically, thus striking a new path in sustainable chemistry. Both ceric and cerous rare-earth-metal pyrazolates, which were recently shown to reversibly insert CO2 and to promote the catalytic cycloaddition of epoxides and carbon dioxide, were grafted onto large-pore mesoporous silica SBA-15500, thermally pretreated at 500 °C. The obtained hybrid materials [Ce(Me2pz)4]2@SBA-15500, Ce(Me2pz)4(thf)@SBA-15500, Ce4(Me2pz)12@SBA-15500, and [Ce(Me2pz)3(thf)]2@SBA-15500 (Me2pz = 3,5-dimethylpyrazolato) were characterized by DRIFTS (diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy), solid-state 1H/13C NMR spectroscopy, elemental analysis, ICP/OES, and N2 physisorption. The lanthanum(III)-based material [La(Me2pz)3(thf)]2@SBA-15500 was synthesized for better assessment of the cerous materials being highly sensitive to oxidation. To mimic ceric surface species, Ce[OSi(OtBu)3]3Cl was treated with 1 equiv of K(Me2pz), generating the mixed pyrazolyl/siloxy complex KCe[OSi(OtBu)3]4(Me2pz) featuring a cerium(IV)-bonded terminal pyrazolato ligand. All hybrid materials show efficient and reversible carbon dioxide uptake of maximum 20 wt % in the solid state. When combined with tetra-n-butylammonium bromide (TBAB), the hybrid materials catalyze the cycloaddition of CO2 and epoxides, displaying good conversion of various epoxides and reusability.

Abstract
The first strontium-based MOF possessing polar tubular channels embedded with a high density of open Lewis acidic metal sites and basic oxalamide groups was constructed, which shows not only a high CO2 and C2H6 adsorption capability and significant selectivity for CO2 over both CH4 and CO, and for C2H6 over CH4, but also size-selective chemical conversion of CO2 with epoxides producing cyclic carbonates under ambient conditions.

Abstract
The commercially practiced conversion of trimethoxymethylsilane (MTM) to [OSi(OMe)Me)]n polymers and resins is assumed to proceed via the silanol (MeO)2MeSiOH. Access to this crucial silanol is gained via the synthesis of (MeO)2MeSiONa, the first methoxysilanoate to be crystallographically characterized. Mild protonation of this silanoate gives (MeO)2MeSiOH, which is shown to condense with (MeO)2MeSiOH but not with MTM. Condensation generates reactive disiloxanols but does not produce symmetric disiloxanes. Parallel results were obtained with (MeO)2PhSiOH.

Abstract
Bis(dimethylsilyl)amide and bis(dimethylphenylsilyl)amide complexes of the divalent transition metals chromium, manganese, and cobalt were synthesized. Dimeric, donor-free {Mn[N(SiHMe2)2]2}2 could be obtained via two different pathways, a salt metathesis route (utilizing MnCl2(thf)1.5 and LiN(SiHMe2)2) and a transsilylamination protocol (utilizing Mn[N(SiMe3)2]2(thf) and HN(SiHMe2)2). Addition of 1,1,3,3-tetramethylethylendiamine (tmeda) to {Mn[N(SiHMe2)2]2}2 yielded the monomeric adduct Mn[N(SiHMe2)2]2(tmeda). The syntheses of Cr[N(SiHMe2)2]2(tmeda), Co[N(SiMe3)2][N(SiHMe2)2](tmeda), and Co[N(SiHMe2)2]2(tmeda) were achieved by transsilylamination from Cr[N(SiMe3)2]2(tmeda) and {Co[N(SiMe3)2]2}2(μ-tmeda), respectively. Bis(dimethylphenylsilyl)amide complexes Mn[N(SiMe2Ph)2]2, Cr[N(SiMe2Ph)2]2, and Co[N(SiMe2Ph)2]2(thf) were obtained via salt metathesis employing MCl2(thf)x (M = Cr, Mn, Co) with equimolar amounts of LiN(SiMe2Ph)2 in n-hexane. Treatment of CrCl2 with LiN(SiMe2Ph)2 in thf gave Cr[N(SiMe2Ph)2]2(thf)2, featuring an almost square planar trans-coordination. All complexes were examined by elemental analyses, DRIFT and UV-vis spectroscopy, as well as X-ray structure analysis, paying particular attention to secondary M---SiH β-agostic and M---π(arene) interactions. Magnetic moments were determined by Evans' method.

Abstract
Most synthetic chemists will have at some point utilized a sterically demanding secondary amide (R2 N(-) ). The three most important examples, lithium 1,1,1,3,3,3-hexamethyldisilazide (LiHMDS), lithium diisopropylamide (LiDA), and lithium 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidide (LiTMP)-the "utility amides"-have long been indispensible particularly for lithiation (Li-H exchange) reactions. Like organolithium compounds, they exhibit aggregation phenomena and strong Lewis acidity, and thus appear in distinct forms depending on the solvents employed. The structural chemistry of these compounds as well as their sodium and potassium congeners are described in the absence or in the presence of the most synthetically significant donor solvents tetrahydrofuran (THF) and N,N,N',N'-tetramethylethylenediamine (TMEDA) or closely related solvents. Examples of hetero-alkali-metal amides, an increasingly important composition because of the recent escalation of interest in mixed-metal synergic effects, are also included.

Abstract
Despite the routine employment of Grignard reagents and Hauser bases as stoichiometric carbanion reagents in organic and inorganic synthesis, a defined reaction chemistry encompassing the heavier elements of Group II (M = Ca, Sr and Ba) has, until recently, remained unreported. This article provides details of the recent progress in heavier Group II catalysed small molecule transformations mediated by well-defined heteroleptic and homoleptic complexes of the form LMX or MX
2
; where L is a mono-anionic ligand and X is a reactive σ-bonded substituent. The intra- and intermolecular heterofunctionalization (hydroamination, hydrophosphination, hydrosilylation and hydrogenation) of alkenes, alkynes, dienes, carbodiimides, isocyanates and ketones is discussed.
