Abstract
The stereoselective synthesis of vicinal amino alcohols derivatives from 1-substituted cyclopropanols and chiral N-tert-butanesulfinyl imines is described. Cyclopropanols are easily prepared from carboxylic esters upon reaction with ethylmagnesium bromide in the presence of titanium tetraisopropoxide and undergo carbon-carbon bond cleavage by means of diethylzinc to produce, upon base deprotonation, enolized zinc homoenolates, which react with chiral sulfinyl imines in a highly regio- and stereoselective manner.

Abstract
The first catalytic, broadly applicable, efficient, γ-, diastereo-, and enantioselective method for addition of O-substituted allyl-B(pin) compounds to phosphinoylimines (MEM=methoxyethoxymethyl, pin=pinacolato) is presented. The identity of the most effective catalyst and the optimal protecting group for the organoboron reagent were determined by consideration of the steric and electronic requirements at different stages of the catalytic cycle, namely, the generation of the chiral allylboronate, the subsequent 1,3-borotropic shift, and the addition step. Aryl-, heteroaryl-, alkenyl- and alkyl-substituted vicinal phosphinoylamido MEM-ethers were thus accessed in 57-92 % yield, 89:11 to >98:2 γ:α selectivity, 76:24-97:3 diastereomeric ratio, and 90:10-99:1 enantiomeric ratio. The method is scalable, and the phosphinoyl and MEM groups may be removed selectively or simultaneously. Utility is highlighted by enantioselective synthesis of an NK-1 receptor antagonist.

Abstract
The diastereoselective addition of allyl zinc and allylindium derivatives to α-trifluoromethyl N-tert-butanesulfinyl hemiaminals, bench stable precursors of aryl and alkyl trifluoromethyl ketimines, allows the synthesis of homoallylic amines containing a tetrasubstituted carbon stereocentre bearing a trifluoromethyl group with good diastereoselectivities (up to dr > 99 : 1). This approach was also suitable for accessing chiral homoallylic amines bearing two contiguous stereocenters. The synthetic usefulness of N-tert-butanesulfinyl homoallylamines was illustrated by preparing various trifluoromethylated nitrogen containing bifunctional synthons (aminoesters, aminoalcohols) and small azaheterocycles (azetidines, pyrrolidines).

Abstract
The palladium-catalyzed allylation of N-tert-butanesulfinyl imines with allylic alcohols in the presence of InI as reducing reagent takes place with high diastereoselectivity in reasonable yields. The reaction with crotyl alcohol is totally regioselective, leading to the anti-diastereomer as the main reaction product.

Abstract
A novel migration-addition sequence was discovered for the reaction of enantioenriched N-tert-butanesulfinyl iminoacetate 1a with functionalized benzylzinc bromide reagents, producing tert-leucine derivatives in excellent diastereoselectivity (dr 98:2). The absolute configurations of two new chiral centers were unambiguously assigned by chemical transformations and X-ray crystallography. In addition, the regio- and diastereoselectivities of this novel reaction were both explained through the key N-sulfinamine intermediate M6 generated by the tert-butyl radical attack on the imine. Computational analysis of this reaction process, which was performed at the B3LYP/6-311++G(3df,2p)//B3LYP/6-31G*-LANL2DZ level, also supported our proposed two-stage mechanism.

Abstract
An efficient and straightforward method for the preparation of highly enantiomerically enriched β,γ-unsaturated α-amino acid derivatives by a Lewis acid promoted diastereoselective Petasis reaction of vinylboronic acid, N-tert-butanesulfinamide, and glyoxylic acid has been developed. The synthetic utilities of the approach were demonstrated by the rapid and convenient construction of challenging cyclopenta[c]proline derivatives.

Abstract
Here we show that simple and readily available chiral sulfinamide-olefins can display great catalytic activities and enantioselectivities in rhodium-catalyzed 1,4-addition reactions. This study represent the first example of chiral sulfur-based olefin ligand class for transition metal-catalyzed asymmetric transformation.
