Investigation of stable solid diazonium salt by molecular structure, Hirshfeld surface analysis, optical and electrochemical studies, and applications. J Mol Model 2021; 27:296. Abstract
The title compound is a new pyrazolone derivative which was synthesized starting from p-sulphophenyl-3-methyl-5-pyrazolone (1) by nitrosation at low temperature to afford the corresponding p-sulphophenyl-3-methyl-4-nitroso-5-pyrazolone which can exist both in nitroso (2a) and oxime tautomeric forms (2b). Reduction of the latter using zinc with hydrochloric acid furnished the 4-amino-p-sulphophenyl-3-methyl-5-pyrazolone (3). The diazotization of (3) under careful control of temperature and pH afforded the p-sulphophenyl-3-methyl-5-pyrazolone diazonium salt (4) which was re-crystallized from acidified ethanol to afford crystal suitable for X-ray studies. UV-visible spectrum and cyclic voltammetric studies were also carried out indicating λmax at 420 nm and HOMO-LUMMO energy gap was also calculated (Eg) of 2.95 eV. The molecular and crystal structures of the compound were clarified by single crystal X-ray diffraction indicated that it crystallizes as the sodium salt in the triclinic space group P -1, with the 4-azo-pyrazolone and the sulphophenyl groups being nearly coplanar. To get an insight to the intermolecular interactions in the crystal, a Hirshfeld surface analysis was also carried out.

Abstract
The construction of three-dimensional (3D) covalent organic frameworks (COFs) remains challenging due to the limited types of organic building blocks. With octahedral TiIV complex as the building unit, this study reports on the first 3D anionic titanium-based COF (Ti-COF-1) with an edge-transitive (6, 4)-connected soc topology. Ti-COF-1 exhibits high crystallinity, superior stability, and large specific surface area (1000.4 m2 g-1 ). Moreover, Ti-COF-1 has a broad absorption band in the UV spectrum with an optical energy gap of 1.86 eV, and exhibits high photocatalytic activity toward Meerwein addition reactions. This research demonstrates an attractive strategy for the design of 3D functional COFs.

Abstract
Aryl radicals generated in the aqueous phase of biphasic mixtures have-regardless of a comparably low polarity- a strong preference to react with aromatic substrates in the aqueous phase and not to undergo phase-transfer into a lipophilic phase, independent from the presence of a surfactant. These results represent an important prerequisite toward future studies in biological systems, which typically consist of various compartments of either hydrophilic or lipophilic character.

Abstract
The arylative oxygenation of the electron-rich olefins styrene, α-methylstyrene, vinyl pyrrolidinone, and vinyl oxazolidinone was accomplished using arenediazonium salts and catalytic amounts of FeSO4 in an effective single electron transfer radical process. A broad range of aryldiazonium salts was tolerated using water, methanol, or their combination with acetonitrile to furnish the corresponding carbohydroxylated and carbomethoxylated products (42 examples), including functionalized dihydroisocoumarin and dihydrobenzofuran systems in good to excellent yields (up to 88%). The protocols developed for the Fe(II)-catalyzed carbohydroxylation were also compared to Ru(II) and Ir(III) photoredox carbooxygenations of these electron-rich olefins. The Fe(II)-catalyzed process proved to be highly competitive compared to the photoredox and the uncatalyzed processes. The proposed mechanism for the Fe(II)-catalyzed reactions involves the synergic combination with an effective Fe+2/Fe+3 redox system and a radical polar crossover mechanism featuring an unprecedented capture of the reactive N-acyliminium in the case of vinyl pyrrolidinone and vinyl oxazolidinone.

Abstract
The rich legacy of arenediazonium salts in the synthesis of unsymmetrical biaryls, built around the seminal works of Pschorr, Gomberg and Bachmann more than a century ago, continues to make important contributions at various evolutionary stages of modern biaryl synthesis. Based on in-depth mechanistic analysis and design of novel pathways and reaction conditions, the scope of biaryl synthesis with arenediazonium salts has enormously expanded in recent years through applications of transition metal/photoredox-catalysed cross-coupling, thermal/photosensitized radical chain CH-arylation of (hetero)arenes and arylative radical annulation reactions with alkynes. These recent developments have provided facile synthetic access to a wide variety of unsymmetrical biaryls of pharmaceutical, agrochemical and optoelectronic importance with green scale-up options and created opportunities for late-stage modification of peptides, nucleosides, carbon nanotubes and electrodes, the details of which are captured in this review.

Abstract
Inspired by the biogenetic synthesis of benzofuroindoline-containing natural products, we designed an oxidative coupling between phenol and N-acetyl indoles. This straightforward and direct radical process, mediated by 2,3-dichloro-5,6-dicyano-1,4-benzoquinone and FeCl3 allowed the regioselective synthesis of benzofuro[3,2-b]indolines, whose structure is found in the natural product phalarine.

Abstract
A highly effective visible light-promoted "radical-type" coupling of N-heteroarenes with aryldiazonium salts in water has been developed. The reaction proceeds at room temperature with [Ru(bpy)3 ]Cl2 ⋅6 H2 O as a photosensitizer and a commercial household light bulb as a light source. Pyridine and a variety of substituted pyridines are effective substrates under these reaction conditions, and only monosubstituted products are formed with different regioselectivities. Using aqueous formic acid as solvent, an array of xanthenes, thiazole, pyrazine, and pyridazine are compatible with this new arylation approach. The broad substrate scope, mild reaction conditions, and use of water as reaction solvent make this procedure a practical and environmentally friendly method for the synthesis of compounds containing aryl-heteroaryl motifs.
