Abstract
Ynamides, though relatively more stable than ynamines, are still moisture-sensitive and prone to hydration especially under acidic and heating conditions. Here we report an environmentally benign, robust protocol to synthesize sulfonamide-based ynamides and arylynamines via Sonogashira coupling reactions in water, using a readily available quaternary ammonium salt as the surfactant.

Abstract
We report a direct, straightforward, and regioselective hydration of 1,4-enynes designed from Morita-Baylis-Hillman adducts. Under smooth conditions and short reaction times, gold-catalyzed hydration of internal alkynes provides synthetically useful ketones as single regioisomers in yields higher than 90%. The synthetic usefulness of this protocol was demonstrated by the conversion of selected ketones into biologically valuable α-alkylidene-γ-lactones upon reduction with sodium borohydride. In the course of the scope evaluation, we discovered that this methodology could also furnish α-arylidene-β,γ-butenolides.

Abstract
1,3-Enynamides underwent oxygenative coupling with carbon- and heteroatom nucleophiles with high remote selectivity. Kinetic analysis revealed a continuum mechanism between concerted SN2′′ and via a carbocation, depending on the nucleophiles used.
Oxidative coupling of 1,3-enynamides using DMSO as a terminal oxidant has been developed. Carbon as well as unmodified heteroatom nucleophiles, including aliphatic alcohols, thiols, and hydrazides, could be efficiently alkylated at the γ-position in a highly regioselective fashion. The kinetic analysis suggested a nucleophile-dependent mechanism ranging from a concerted SN2′′ to a carbocationic mechanism. Thus, the remote site-selectivity was ascribed to the partial positive charge developing at the terminal carbocationic center.

Abstract
This work describes zinc(II)-catalyzed hydrative aldol reactions of 2-en-1-ynamides with aldehydes and water to afford branched aldol products regio- and stereoselectively. The anti and syn selectivity can be modulated by the sizes of sulfonamides to yield E- and Z-configured zinc(II) dienolates selectively. This new reaction leads to enantiopure aldol products by using a cheap chiral sulfonamide. The mechanistic analysis reveals that the sulfonamide amides of the substrates can trap a released proton to generate dual acidic sites to activate a carbonyl allylation reaction.
