Abstract
The propargylic dialkyl effect (PDAE) has a significant impact on the cyclization reaction of enynes, partly reflected in changing the types of products. Herein, we described the influence of the propargylic dialkyl effect on the Ir(III)-catalyzed cycloisomerization of 1,6-enynes to provide strained cyclobutenes. A series of substituted 1,6-enynes were proved to be excellent substrate candidates in the presence of [Cp*IrCl2]2 in toluene. Mechanistic investigation, based on deuterium labeling experiments and control experiments, indicated that the propargylic dialkyl effect might boost C(sp)-H activation by preventing the coordination of active iridium species to the C(sp)≡C(sp) bond of enynes. This finding contributes to the fundamental understanding of enyne cyclization reactions and offers valuable insight into the propargylic dialkyl effect.

Abstract
Functionalized azetidines, 2,3-dihydrofurans, or the unorthodox dioxa-3-azabicyclonone-4-ene motifs are the products from transition metal-free reaction between N-oxiranylmethyl benzenesulfonamide and β-chloro-cinnamaldehyde, depending on whether one uses either NaI/K2CO3 or LiBr/K2CO3. These ring expansion reactions involve enamide (X-ray evidence) derived from N-oxiranylmethyl benzenesulfonamide and β-chloro-cinnamaldehyde as an intermediate. The N-oxiranylmethyl benzenesulfonamide itself upon heating gives readily separable and crystalline isomeric diazocanes that can be characterized by X-ray crystallography.

Abstract
The [2+2+2] intermolecular carbocyclization reactions between 1,6-enynes and alkynes catalyzed by [RuCl(cod)(Cp*)] (cod=1,5-cyclooctadiene, Cp*=pentamethylcyclopentadienyl) are reported to provide bicyclohexa-1,3-dienes. The presented reaction conditions are compatible with internal and terminal alkynes and the chemo- and regioselectivity issues are controlled by the presence of substituents at the propargyl carbon center of the alkyne(s) partner(s).

Abstract
2-(Pyridinium-1-yl)-1,1-bis(triflyl)ethanides have been used as 1,2-dipole precursors in a metal-free direct [2+2] cycloaddition reaction of alkynes. Starting from stable zwitterionic pyridinium salts, the electron deficient olefin 1,1-bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)ethene is generated in situ and immediately reacted at room temperature with an alkyne to afford substituted cyclobutenes. Remarkably, this mild and facile uncatalyzed protocol requires neither irradiation nor heating.
