Abstract
We reported a chiral oxamide-phosphine ligand (COAP-Ph)-Pd-catalyzed asymmetric [3+2] cycloaddition reaction between vinyl cyclopropane compounds derived from 1,3-indanedione and 2-vinylcyclopropane-1,1-dicarboxylates with cyclic sulfonyl 1-azadienes. The corresponding reactions provided a series of enantiomerically active spiro cyclopentane-indandione and cyclopentane structures bearing three consecutive stereogenic centers in good yields with good diastereo- and enantioselectivity. The COAP-Pd complex serves not only to promote generation of chiral π-allyl-palladium intermediates and induce the asymmetry of the reaction, but also depress the background reaction.

Abstract
Indane-1,3-dione is a versatile building block used in numerous applications ranging from biosensing, bioactivity, bioimaging to electronics or photopolymerization. In this review, an overview of the different chemical reactions enabling access to this scaffold but also to the most common derivatives of indane-1,3-dione are presented. Parallel to this, the different applications in which indane-1,3-dione-based structures have been used are also presented, evidencing the versatility of this structure.

Abstract
A palladium-catalyzed divergent synthesis of spirooxindoles fused with a five- or a six-membered ring by a cycloaddition reaction of vinylidenecyclopropane-diesters with methyleneindolinones was disclosed. This protocol features an in situ generated unprecedented zwitterionic π-propargyl palladium species in cycloaddition reactions and a switchable process between (3+2) and (4+2) cycloadditions by changing the phosphine ligand.

Abstract
A new ionic cyclopropanation process involving the addition of diazo esters to donor-acceptor cyclopropanes (DAC) activated by GaCl3 has been developed. The reactions occur via 1,2-zwitterionic gallium complexes with elimination of nitrogen in all cases to give 1,1,2,3-tetrasubstituted cyclopropanes as the main products. Also, a number of related processes with the formation of various polysubstituted cyclopropanes, alkenes, and cyclobutanes, including products of multiple diazo ester addition, have been developed. Obtained by the developed method tetrasubstituted cyclopropanes are activated cyclopropanes such as DAC and can be used for further synthesis in this capacity. Their new reaction with benzaldehyde promoted by TiCl4 and involving one of the additional functional groups has been demonstrated, which leads to five-membered lactones. The mechanisms of the occurring processes, as well as the structures and stereochemistry of a rich range of products formed, are discussed in detail.

Abstract
A formal [4 + 2] cycloaddition of N-tosylhydrazones with ortho-quinone methides was developed, affording the facile synthesis of diverse 1,3-oxazine derivatives under mild conditions. In this transformation, N-tosylhydrazones are used as a 1,2-dipole synthon under base-free conditions. Moreover, the substrate scope is broad, and the products are formed with high diastereoselectivities in most of the cases.

Abstract
Vinyl cyclopropanes are amongst the most useful building blocks in organic synthesis. Their easy opening and capacity to generate dipoles have been exploited for the synthesis of cyclopentanes with good yields and sometimes excellent stereoselectivities. In this review we give an overview of their applications, focusing on the present century.

Abstract
The palladium-catalyzed [3 + 2] cycloaddition of vinylcyclopropanes and 1-azadienes has been developed under mild reaction conditions, giving the multisubstituted cyclopentane derivatives in good to excellent yields with moderate to good diastereoselectivities. The relative configuration of both diastereomers of the products have been determined through X-ray crystallographic diffraction. Pd-catalyzed [3 + 2] cycloaddition of vinylcyclopropanes with 1-azadienes gave highly functionalized cyclopentane derivatives in high yields.![]()

Abstract
A highly atom-economical allylation of oxindoles with vinyl cyclopropanes catalyzed by Pd(PPh3)4 has been developed, setting up a practical venue for the installation of an all-carbon quaternary center at the 3-position in oxindoles under mild reaction conditions. Importantly, the reaction proceeded well without any additives and no waste was produced, affording linear products with high regioselectivities (>20 : 1). Enantioselective allylic alkylation has also been realized to provide the desired products in good yields and 35% ee.

We report an unprecedented sequential Au(i)/bifunctional tertiary amine catalysis, which enables a tandem C–H functionalization of weak nucleophiles (anisoles or thiophenes) and asymmetric Michael addition for the highly enantioselective synthesis of quaternary oxindoles.

Abstract
A facile and versatile Pd/L8-catalyzed asymmetric [3+2] cycloaddition of 3-diazooxindoles with a new vinylcyclopropane to construct spiropyrazolidine derivatives has been developed.
