Abstract
Here we report the first example of sulfinylsulfonation of alkynes to afford β-sulfinyl alkenylsulfone products with a broad substrate scope, excellent functional group compatibility, and high yield. Moreover, sulfinylsulfonation reaction of enyne can also be realized for constructing functionalized carbo- and heterocycles through a radical cascade cyclization process.

Abstract
Four unprecedented base-catalyzed/mediated nucleophilic additions of TMSCN to α-(trifluoromethyl)styrenes and 2-trifluoromethyl enynes were developed. The reaction proceeded smoothly at room temperature under mild and transition-metal-free conditions without affecting the trifluoromethyl group and afforded the corresponding CF3-containing alkyl, alkynyl, and butadienyl nitriles in moderate to excellent yields in a highly regioselective manner, respectively.

Abstract
A highly efficient one-pot synthesis of β,β-dihalo-β-nitroethyl alkyl ethers is achieved by the treatment of nitroalkenes with alcohols and N-halosuccinimides in the presence of sodium hydride. The notable advantages of this protocol are that it involves simple experimental manipulations and tolerates a wide range of functional groups. Further transformations of the obtained ethers, such as allylation and conversion to β,β-dihalogenated vinyl ethers, are also investigated.

Abstract
In this article we report on the mechanistic studies of the Michael addition of amines and hydrazines to nitrostyrenes. Under the present conditions, the corresponding N-alkyl/aryl substituted benzyl imines and N-methyl/phenyl substituted benzyl hydrazones were observed via a retro-aza-Henry-type process. By combining organic synthesis and characterization experiments with computational chemistry calculations, we reveal that this reaction proceeds via a protic solvent-mediated mechanism. Experiments in deuterated methanol CD3OD reveal the synthesis and isolation of the corresponding deuterated intermediated Michael adduct, results that support the proposed slovent-mediated pathway. From the synthetic point of view, the reaction occurs under mild, noncatalytic conditions and can be used as a useful platform to yield the biologically important N-methyl pyrazoles in a one-pot manner, simple starting with the corresponding nitrostyrenes and the methylhydrazine.

Abstract
anti-Selective iodocyanation and dicyanation of various internal alkynes has been developed by means of a simple copper catalyst system. The selectivity of the products was switched by tuning the reaction conditions. Mechanistic studies have revealed all of the stepwise pathways including diiodide formation, selective monocyanation, and second cyanation processes.

Abstract
An operationally simple and mild one-pot protocol for the synthesis of a variety of 3,5-diarylpyridines from β-nitrostyrenes was achieved by using elemental iron. This reaction proceeds via reduction of the nitro group, resulting in in situ imine formation followed by trimolecular condensation with concomitant debenzylative aromatization. By employing this method, a series of symmetrical and unsymmetrical 3,5-diarylpyridines were synthesized with good to excellent yields. In addition, this method was also utilized for the synthesis of Sch-21418, an anti-inflammatory agent on gram scale.
