Abstract
High-pressure structural study of a piezochromic crystal of a rare di-exo-nitrito nickel(II) complex supported by computational analysis is presented. The examined system is not photoswitchable, however, in the 0-6.2 GPa pressure range the crystal undergoes two phase-transitions accompanied by a colour change and the nitrite ligand isomerisation, which is unique.

Abstract
In crystal structures of two chain coordination polymers [M(tcnopr3OH)2(H2O)2] (M = NiII and CoII; tcnopr3OH- = [(NC)2CC(O(CH2)3OH)C(CN)2]-) based on a N,O or N,N'-bridge polynitrile ligand, the parallel chains are connected via, respectively, C[triple bond, length as m-dash]NH-O and O-HO hydrogen bonds between uncoordinated functional groups of the ligand and coordinated water molecules. Upon heating, both solids undergo dehydration accompanied by degradation of their single crystals. Powder X-ray diffraction showed that non-isostructural triclinic single crystals transformed to isostructural monoclinic compounds. The solid-state reaction yielded 3D coordination polymers [M(tcnopr3OH)2] (M = NiII and CoII) based on a N,N',O-connected tcnopr3OH-. Although previously tens of complexes based on tcnopr3OH and similar anions were synthesized and X-ray characterized, none of these contain a tridentate polynitrile ligand. Thus, this study provides evidence that solid-state reactions allow obtaining novel coordination modes of polynitrile ligands. The possible pathways for the transformation of H-bonded networks to 3D coordination polymers are discussed on the basis of the topological approach. Applicability of the topological approach to predict possible networks of solid-state reaction products based on the crystal structures of initial compounds is demonstrated.

Abstract
Based on various comparable salen ligands, three synthesized CuIINaI-complexes present efficient catalytic activities for the coupling and cyclization reaction of 1,2-diaminopropane with nitriles towards 2-imidazolines. The catalytic results show that salen ligands with an electron-donating substituent and small steric hindrance improve the catalytic activity.

Abstract
In this work, we demonstrate a solvent-assisted structural transformation between two 3D metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) ([Zn4(α-bptc)2(H2O)3]n (1) → {[Zn2(α-bptc)(H2O)4]·(pra)}n (2)) (α-H4bptc = 2,3,3',4'-biphenyl tetra-carboxylic acid and pra = pyridin-2-amine) at room temperature by immersing complex 1 in a mother solution. The structural transformation involves not only solvent exchange but also the cleavage and formation of coordination bonds, which is confirmed by infrared spectroscopy, single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis, powder X-ray diffraction patterns, and thermogravimetric analysis. Structural analyses revealed that significant modifications occurred during the transformation including the changes in lattice parameters, unit cell volume, space group, coordination number, secondary building units, and topological type. In the case of drastic structural transitions, significant changes in properties were also observed. Complex 2 displayed the interesting uptake and release of iodine with the changes in visible color, UV and fluorescence spectra, and fully reversible I2 uptake of 8.5 mg g-1, which further suggested about its future application as iodine absorbing material.

Abstract
Single-crystal-to-single-crystal transformations are solid-state phase transitions between different crystalline states in which the crystal integrity and the long-range structural order are retained through the whole transformation process. Such a phenomenon constitutes the structural response that some compounds afford when being exposed to a given external stimulus (temperature, pressure, light, etc.) and, therefore, its study has become a relevant focus of interest within crystal engineering because it allows for monitoring how certain properties (colour, magnetism, luminescence, porosity) of the stimuli-responsive material are modified as the structure evolves into the activated form. A range of organic, inorganic and hybrid systems have been found to undergo such phase transitions, but these examples only include a small number of compounds that incorporate polyoxometalate anions, among which the removal of guest solvent molecules (dehydration) stands out as the most common external stimulus able to induce the occurrence of a single-crystal-to-single-crystal transformation. This feature article compiles the examples of dehydration-triggered single-crystal-to-single-crystal transformation studies that have been reported to date for polyoxometalate-based compounds and reviews some of their most relevant structural aspects.

Abstract
Currently, no unequivocal evidence is given for elucidation of "black box" during the structural transformations of dynamic crystalline materials. Here, three types of mechanisms are revealed for such transformations through X-ray diffraction and optical microscopy; namely, single-crystal to single-crystal (SC-SC), as well as "core-to-core" and "core-on-shell" processes. As confirmed by time-lapse optical microscopy, the latter two cases can be properly ascribed as partial recrystallization processes, while the former one is a continuous process with two different crystal lattices simultaneously maintained in one single crystal. Interestingly, these three distinct pathways can be exquisitely realized by changing only the halogen substituent (from -F, -Cl, to -Br) of the organic ligands in the coordination supramolecular systems.
