Abstract
A multifunctional metal-organic framework, (Hdmbpy)[Dy(H2dobdc)2(H2O)]·3H2O (Dy-MOF, H4dobdc = 2,5-dihydroxyterephthalic acid, dmbpy = 4,4'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridine), was synthesized and structurally characterized. The metal center DyIII is connected by four carboxyl groups to form the [Dy2(CO2)4] binuclear nodes, which are further interconnected by eight separate H2dobdc2- ligands to form a three-dimensional (3D) framework including hydrophilic triangular channels and abundant hydrogen-bonding networks. Dy-MOF has good stability in aqueous solution as well as in harsh acidic or alkaline solutions (pH range: 2.0-12.0). Furthermore, the luminescence signal of Dy-MOF undergoes a visualized color change as the acidity of the solution alters, which is the typical behavior of pH ratiometric probe. At a 100% relative humidity, Dy-MOF exhibits a high proton conductivity σ (1.70 × 10-4 S cm-1 at 303 K; 1.20 × 10-3 S cm-1 at 343 K) based on the proton hopping mechanism, which can be classified as a superionic conductor with σ exceeding 10-4 S cm-1. Additionally, the ferromagnetic interaction and magnetic relaxation behavior are simultaneously achieved in Dy-MOF. Herein, the combination of luminescence sensing, magnetism, and proton conduction in a single-phase 3D MOF may offer great potential applications in smart multitasking devices.

Abstract
In the fields of proton exchange membrane fuel cells as well as impedance recognition, molecular sieve, and biochemistry, the development of proton conductive materials is essential. The design and preparation of the next generation of proton conductive materials-crystalline metal-organic framework (MOF) materials with high proton conductivity and excellent water stability-are facing great challenges. Due to the large radius and high positive charge of lanthanides, they often interact with organic ligands to exhibit high coordination numbers and flexible coordination configurations, resulting in the higher stability of lanthanide-based MOFs (Ln-MOFs) than their transition metal analogues, especially regarding water stability. Therefore, Ln-MOFs have attracted considerable attention. This review offers a view of the latest progress of proton conductive Ln-MOFs, including synthesis strategy, structural characteristics, and advantages, proton conductivity, proton conductive mechanism, and applications. More importantly, by discussing structure-property relationships, we searched for and analyzed design techniques and directions of development of Ln-MOFs in the future. The latest progress of synthesis strategy, structural characteristics, proton conductive properties and mechanism and applications on Ln-MOFs. Abstract
Three anionic luminescent metal-organic frameworks (LMOFs; [M(tcbpe)(CH3)2NH2]·H2O; M = In3+, Eu3+, Gd3+; tcbpe = 4',4‴,4‴″,4‴‴'-(ethene-1,1,2,2-tetrayl)tetrakis[(1,1'-biphenyl)-4-carboxylic acid]) are synthesized by employing the tetraphenylethene core ligand H4tcbpe with M3+ ions. They stack in the similarly 4-fold-interpenetrated three-dimensional porous structure. All give blue emission when excited at 365 nm, with fluorescence quantum yields of 34.8% (MOF-In), 7.1% (MOF-Eu), and 28.1% (MOF-Gd). Somewhat surprisingly, these three complexes are extremely stable both in various solvents and across a broad pH range: MOF-In is stable between pH = 0 and 14, and MOF-Eu and MOF-Gd are stable between pH = 0 and 13. Additionally, they also show good proton conductivities of 2.29 × 10-5 S·cm-1 (MOF-In), 2.02 × 10-4 S·cm-1 (MOF-Eu), and 1.24 × 10-4 S·cm-1 (MOF-Gd) at high temperature under 98% relative humidity. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first reported LMOF series combining aggregation-induced emission behavior with good proton conductivities.

Abstract
Recent studies on proton conductivity using pristine MOFs and their composite materials have established an outstanding area of research owing to their potential applications for the development of high performance solid state proton conductors (SSPCs) and proton exchange membranes (PEMs) in fuel cells (FCs). MOFs, as crystalline organic and inorganic hybrid materials, provide a large number of degrees of freedom in their framework composition, coordination environment, and chemically functionalized pores for the targeted design of improved proton carriers, functioning over a wide range of temperature and humidity conditions. Herein, our efforts have been emphasized on fundamental principles and different design strategies to achieve enhanced proton conductivity with appropriate examples. We also have discussed the modification mechanism of MOF-composite materials and mixed matrix membranes for commercial applications in FCs. Thus, this review aims to direct readers' attention towards the design strategies and structure-property relationship for proton transport in MOFs.

Abstract
Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have gained widespread attention due to their modular construction that allows the tuning of their properties. Within this vast class of compounds, metal carboxylates containing tri- and tetravalent metal ions have been in the focus of many studies due to their often high thermal and chemical stabilities. Cerium has a rich chemistry, which depends strongly on its oxidation state. Ce(iii) exhibits properties typically observed for rare earth elements, while Ce(iv) is mostly known for its oxidation behaviour. In MOF chemistry this is reflected in their unique optical and catalytic properties. The synthetic parameters for Ce(iii)- and Ce(iv)-MOFs also differ substantially and conditions must be chosen to prevent reduction of Ce(iv) for the formation of the latter. Ce(iii)-MOFs are usually reported in comprehensive studies together with those constructed with other RE elements and normally they are isostructural. They exhibit a greater structural diversity, which is reflected in the larger variety of inorganic building units. In contrast, the synthesis conditions of Ce(iv)-MOFs were only recently (2015) established. These lead selectively to hexanuclear Ce-O clusters that are well-known for Zr-MOFs and therefore very similar structural and isoreticluar chemistry is found. Hence Ce(iv)-MOFs exhibit often high porosity, while only a few porous Ce(iii)-MOFs have been described. Some of these show structural flexibility which makes them interesting for separation processes. For Ce(iv)-MOFs the redox properties are most relevant. Thus, they are intensively discussed for catalytic, photocatalytic and sensing applications. In this perspective, the synthesis, structural chemistry and properties of Ce-MOFs are summarized.

Abstract
Two dinuclear lanthanide complexes [Dy2(L1)6(L2)2]·2EtOH (1) and [Tb2(L1)6(L2)2]·2EtOH (2) (HL1 = phenoxyacetic acid and L2 = 2,2’-bipyridine) were synthesized and the crystal structures were determined. In both complexes, the lanthanide centers are nine-coordinated and have a muffin geometry. Detailed magnetic study reveals the presence of field-induced single molecule magnet (SMM) behavior for complex 1, whereas complex 2 is non-SMM in nature. Further magnetic study with 1’, yttrium doped magnetically diluted sample of 1, disclosed the presence of Orbach and Raman relaxation processes with effective energy barrier, ∆E = 16.26 cm−1 and relaxation time, τo = 2.42 × 10−8 s. Luminescence spectra for complexes 1 and 2 in acetonitrile were studied which show characteristic emission peaks for DyIII and TbIII ions, respectively.

Abstract
Two new one-dimensional (1D) coordination polymers (CPs), namely catena-poly[[[aquacadmium(II)]-bis(μ-4b,5,7,7a-tetrahydro-4b,7a-epiminomethanoimino-6H-imidazo[4,5-f][1,10]phenanthroline-6,13-dione)] bis(perchlorate) dihydrate], {[Cd(C14H10N6O2)2(H2O)](ClO4)2·2H2O}n or {[Cd(BPG)2(H2O)](ClO4)2·2H2O}n, 1, and catena-poly[[lead(II)-bis(μ-4b,5,7,7a-tetrahydro-4b,7a-epiminomethanoimino-6H-imidazo[4,5-f][1,10]phenanthroline-6,13-dione)] bis(perchlorate) dihydrate], {[Pb(C14H10N6O2)2](ClO4)2·2H2O}n or {[Pb(BPG)2](ClO4)2·2H2O}n, 2, have been synthesized using bipyridine-glycoluril (BPG; systematic name: 4b,5,7,7a-tetrahydro-4b,7a-epiminomethanoimino-6H-imidazo[4,5-f][1,10]phenanthroline-6,13-dione), a urea-fused tecton, in a mixed-solvent system. The CdII ion in 1 is heptacoordinated and the PbII ion in 2 is hexacoordinated, with the CdII ion adopting a pentagonal bipyramidal geometry and the PbII ion adopting a distorted octahedral geometry. Both CPs form infinite linear chain structures which are hydrogen bonded to each other leading to the formation of three-dimensional supramolecular network structures. Topological analysis of CPs 1 and 2 reveals that the structures exhibit 1D chain-like arrangements in an AB-AB sequence and shows platonic uniform 2-connected uninodal topologies. Furthermore, a comparative analysis of a series of structures based on the BPG ligand indicates that the size of the metal ion and the types of counter-ions used have a great influence on the resulting frameworks and properties.

Abstract
Coordination polymers serving as molecular magnetic refrigerants have been attracting great interest. In particular, coordination cluster compounds that demonstrate their apparent advantages on cryogenic magnetic refrigerants have attracted more attention in the last five years. Herein, we mainly focus on depicting aspects of syntheses, structures, and magnetothermal properties of coordination clusters that serve as magnetic refrigerants on account of the magnetocaloric effect. The documented molecular magnetic refrigerants are classified into two primary categories according to the types of metal centers, namely, homo- and heterometallic clusters. Every section is further divided into several subgroups based on the metal nuclearity and their dimensionalities, including discrete molecular clusters and those with extended structures constructed from molecular clusters. The objective is to present a rough overview of recent progress in coordination-cluster-based molecular magnetic refrigerants and provide a tutorial for researchers who are interested in the field.
