Abstract
Dearomative borylation of coumarins and chromenes via conjugate addition represents a relatively unexplored and challenging task. To address this issue, herein, we report a new and general copper (I) catalyzed dearomative borylation process to synthesize boron-containing oxacycles. In this report, the borylation of coumarins, chromones, and chromenes comprising functional groups, such as esters, nitriles, carbonyls, and amides, has been achieved. In addition, the method generates different classes of potential boron-based retinoids, including the ones with oxadiazole and anthocyanin motifs. The borylated oxacycles can serve as suitable intermediates to generate a library of compounds.

Abstract
AbstractTorasemide, a pyridine-3-sulfonylurea derivative, is a high-efficiency loop diuretic. During the process development of torasemide, five process-related substances, which have been specified in the pharmacopeia, would be produced. In this study, all these related substances, including compounds A–E, were synthesized via simple procedures and subsequently characterized by 1H nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), 13C NMR, and mass spectrometry. Particularly, a simple synthetic method for compound A has not been found in previous literature. It is worth noting that other related substances could be prepared from compound B in one or two steps. The availability of these related substances could allow for quality control in the process of torasemide.

Abstract
CeO2 with fusiform structures were prepared by the combined microwave–ultrasonic method, and their morphologies and surface structure were changed by simply adding different amounts of H2O (1–5 ml) to the precursor system. The addition of H2O changed the PVP micelle structure and the surface state, resulting in CeO2 with a different specific surface area (64–111 m2 g−1) and Ce3+ defects (16.5%–28.1%). The sample with 2 ml H2O exhibited a high surface area (111.3 m2∙g−1) and relatively more surface defects (Ce3+%: 28.1%), resulting in excellent catalytic activity (4.34 mmol g−1 h−1).

Abstract
Herein we report that coordinative hemilability allows the MIDA (N-methyliminodiacetic acid) nitrogen to behave as a nucleophile and intramolecularly intercept palladium π-allyl intermediates. A mechanistic investigation indicates that this rearrangement proceeds through an SN2-like displacement at tetrasubstituted boron to furnish novel DABN boronates. Oxidative addition into the N-C bond of the DABN scaffold furnishes borylated π-allyl intermediates that can then be trapped with a variety of nucleophiles, including in a three-component coupling.

Abstract
The ring-opening reactions of N-methyliminodiacetyl (MIDA) α-chloroepoxyboronates with different nucleophiles allow the modular synthesis of a diverse array of organoboronates. These include seven types of α-functionalized acylboronates and seven types of borylated heteroarenes, some of which are difficult-to-access products using alternative methods. The common synthons, α-chloroepoxyboronates, could be viably synthesized by a two-step procedure from the corresponding alkenyl MIDA boronates. Mild reaction conditions, good functional-group tolerance, and generally good efficiency were observed. The utility of the products was also demonstrated.

Abstract
A mild, metal-free, and multicomponent route for the preparation of N-acyl amidines from nitroalkene derivatives, dibromo amides, and amines has been developed that accesses an initial α,α-dibromonitroalkane intermediate that can undergo C-C bond cleavage. This protocol offers an alternative approach toward N-acyl amidines and features the rapid construction of amidine frameworks with high diversity and complexity. The procedure also accesses bisamidine and α,β-unsaturated amidines which are challenging targets by traditional methods.

Abstract
Over the past two decades, there has been an increasing interest in the therapeutic potential of organoboron reagents due to the discovery of bortezomib (Velcade). This has motivated synthetic chemists to develop novel routes for the preparation of heteroatom-rich boron-containing molecules (BCMs). In particular, the development of borylated building blocks has provided facile access to difficult-to-access heteroatom-rich BCMs. In this review, we will discuss the methods used to prepare boron-containing molecules of biological relevance from multicomponent reactions with borylated building blocks.

Abstract
A highly reactive intermediate N-sulfonyl acetylketenimine was generated from a 3-butyn-2-one participating CuAAC/ring-opening method. Its high reactivity due to bearing two EWGs allowed us to offer the first example of a reaction between ketenimine and amide to synthesize N-sulfonyl amidines efficiently.
