Abstract
Low-dimensional coordination polymers such as one-dimensional chains often exhibit gated guest sorption accompanying structural transition at a temperature (TG), which is associated with an external pressure of the guest (PG) characteristic to the material and guest used. This phenomenon can be evaluated using the Clausius-Clapeyron relationship with the equation d(ln PG)/d(1/TG) = ΔHG/R, where ΔHG and R are the transition enthalpy and gas constant, respectively. In this study, gated CO2 adsorption behavior was investigated in a one-dimensional chain based on a benzoate-bridged paddlewheel diruthenium(II,II) complex with a phenazine (phz) linker, [Ru2(p-MeOPhCO2)4(phz)] (1; p-MeOPhCO2- = p-anisate). Surprisingly, 1 underwent gate opening (GO)/closing (GC) at a much higher TG, e.g., 385 K for GC, under PCO2 = 100 kPa than those previously reported for such chain compounds, which usually appeared in the temperature range of 200-270 K. The transition entropy ΔSG in each system plays a key role in shifting TG; 1 results in a much smaller |ΔSG| in the series. Only 1 produced a CO2-accessible two-dimensional topological pore in its CO2-adsorbed phase 1⊃CO2, whereas the others reported previously produced one-dimensional or discrete topological pores for CO2 accommodation, strongly reflecting the degree of freedom of CO2 molecules in pores, which is related to ΔSG.

Abstract
Accompanied by a change in color from red to black, the enantiomorphic phases of the cobalt complexes of a chiral salen ligand (L2−, Co(L)·CS2, and Co(L) (L = LS,S or LR,R)) chemisorb NO (g) at atmospheric pressure and rt over hours for the CS2 solvated phase, and within seconds for the desolvated phase. NO is installed as an axial nitrosyl ligand. Aligned but unconnected voids in the CS2 desorbed Co(LR,R)·CS2 structure indicate conduits for the directional desorption of CS2 and reversible sorption of NO, which occur without loss of crystallinity. Vibrational circular dichroism (VCD) spectra have been recorded for both hands of LH2, Zn(L), Co(L)·CS2, Co(L), Co(NO)(L), and Co(NO)(L)·CS2, revealing significant differences between the solution-state and solid-state spectra. Chiral induction enables the detection of the νNO band in both condensed states, and surprisingly also the achiral lattice solvent (CS2 (νCS at 1514 cm−1)) in the solid-state VCD. Solution-state spectra of the paramagnetic Co(II) complex shows a nearly 10-fold enhancement and more extensive inversion of polarity of the vibrations of dominant VCD bands compared to the spectra of the diamagnetic compounds. This enhancement is less pronounced when there are fewer polarity inversions in the solid state VCD spectra.

Abstract
In this article, we report on the synthesis and characterization of the tetracarboxylatodirhodium(II) complexes [Rh2(μ-O2CCH2OMe)4(THF)2] (1) and [Rh2(μ-O2CC6H4-p-CMe3)4(OH2)2] (2) by metathesis reaction of [Rh2(μ-O2CMe)4] with the corresponding ligand acting also as the reaction solvent. The reaction of the corresponding tetracarboxylato precursor, [Rh2(μ-O2CR)4], with PPh4[Au(CN)2] at room temperature, yielded the one-dimensional polymers (PPh4)n[Rh2(μ-O2CR)4Au(CN)2]n (R = Me (3), CH2OMe (4), CH2OEt (5)) and the non-polymeric compounds (PPh4)2{Rh2(μ-O2CR)4[Au(CN)2]2} (R = CMe3 (6), C6H4-p-CMe3 (7)). The structural characterization of 1, 3·2CH2Cl2, 4·3CH2Cl2, 5, 6, and 7·2OCMe2 is also provided with a detailed description of their crystal structures and intermolecular interactions. The polymeric compounds 3·2CH2Cl2, 4·3CH2Cl2, and 5 show wavy chains with Rh-Au-Rh and Rh-N-C angles in the ranges 177.18°-178.69° and 163.0°-170.4°, respectively. A comparative study with related rhodium-silver complexes previously reported indicates no significant influence of the gold or silver atoms in the solid-state arrangement of these kinds of complexes.

Abstract
Control of magnetic performances of molecular magnets is essential but few efforts have been documented. A green and efficient sonication assisted synthesis of a new heterometallic diruthenium(ii,iii) carbonate, Na[Ni(H2O)4Ru2(CO3)4]·3H2O (1), was carried out by self-assembling in aqueous solution. Compound 1 exhibits spin-glass behavior below ∼5.0 K, and a systematic investigation of the ultrasonic irradiation influence on the powder samples reveals that their coercivity increases from 50 Oe to 743 Oe with the control of ultrasonic power under appropriate conditions.

Abstract
Crystals of a two-dimensional (2D) metal-organic framework (MOF) [Cd3(BTB)2(DEF)4]·2(DEF)0.5 (1; BTB = benzene-1,3,5-tribenzolate; DEF = N,N'-diethylformamide) immersed in a solution of trans-1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethylene (BPEE) yields an interpenetrated three-dimensional (3D) MOF of [Cd3(BTB)2(BPEE)(H2O)2]·(BPEE)·xSol (2). Crystals of MOF 2, in turn, undergo a cascade conversion when immersed in DEF, yielding [Cd3(BTB)2(BPEE)1.8(DEF)0.9(H2O)0.8]·xSol (3a) over 100 seconds and [Cd3(BTB)2(BPEE)2(DEF)2]·xSol (4) after one hour, before finally shuttling back to MOF 1 after six hours.
