Abstract
Half-sandwich zirconium(IV) and hafnium(IV) complexes with amidoborane and hydride ligands have been isolated in the stoichiometric reactions of mono(pentamethylcyclopentadienyl)metal alkyl and amido derivatives with the amine-boranes NHR2BH3 (R2 = H2, Me2, HtBu). Treatment of the tris(trimethylsilylmethyl) complexes [M(η5-C5Me5)(CH2SiMe3)3] with NH3BH3 (3 equiv) gives the seven-coordinate species [M(η5-C5Me5)(NH2BH3)3] (M = Zr (1), Hf (2)) with three κ2N,H-NH2BH3 ligands. The tris(neophyl) [M(η5-C5Me5)(CH2CMe2Ph)3] or tris(dimethylamido) [M(η5-C5Me5)(NMe2)3] derivatives react with NHMe2BH3 (≥3 equiv) to afford bis(dimethylamidoborane) hydride complexes [M(η5-C5Me5)H(NMe2BH3)2] (M = Zr (3), Hf (4)) via thermally unstable [M(η5-C5Me5)(NMe2BH3)3] species. The reaction of [M(η5-C5Me5)(NMe2)3] and NH2tBuBH3 (≥4 equiv) affords analogous mixed amidoborane hydride derivatives [M(η5-C5Me5)H(NHtBuBH3)(NMe2BH3)] (M = Zr (5), Hf (6)) with κ2N,H-NHtBuBH3 and κ3N,H,H-NMe2BH3 ligands. The addition of NHR2BH3 (≥1 equiv) on the mono(dimethylamido) complexes [M(η5-C5Me5)Cl2(NMe2)] in hexane leads to the precipitation of the ionic compounds [(NHR2)2BH2][{M(η5-C5Me5)Cl2}2(μ-H)3] (R2 = Me2, M = Zr (7), Hf (8); R2 = HtBu, M = Zr (9), Hf (10)). Molecular hydride species [Cl2(η5-C5Me5)M(μ-Cl)(μ-H)2M(η5-C5Me5)Cl(NH2tBu)] (M = Zr (11), Hf (12)) could be isolated from mixtures of complexes [M(η5-C5Me5)Cl2(NMe2)] and lower ratios of NH2tBuBH3. The zirconium complex 11 decomposes in solution to give the mononuclear tert-butylamido derivative [Zr(η5-C5Me5)Cl2(NHtBu)] (13) along with other byproducts.

Abstract
The exploration for noble metals substitutes in catalysis has become a highly active area of research, driven by the pursuit of sustainable chemical processes. Although the utilization of base metals holds great potential as an alternative, their successful implementation in predictable catalytic processes necessitates the development of appropriate ligands. Such ligands must be capable of controlling their intricate redox chemistry and promote two-electron events, thus mimicking well-established organometallic processes in noble metal catalysis. While numerous approaches for infusing nobility to base metals have been explored, metal-ligand cooperation has garnered significant attention in recent years. Within this context, aluminium-based ligands offer interesting features to fine-tune the activity of metal centres, but their application in base metal catalysis remains largely unexplored. This perspective seeks to highlight the most recent breakthroughs in the reactivity of heterobimetallic aluminium-base-metal complexes, while also showcasing their potential to develop novel and predictable catalytic transformations. By turning the spotlight on such heterobimetallic species, we aim to inspire chemists to explore aluminium-base-metal species and expand the range of their applications as catalysts.

Abstract
Although Lipscomb predicted in 1977 that supra-icosahedral boron clusters would be viable, their synthesis has been impeded by the unavailability of appropriate synthetic methodologies. Herein, we report the first examples of the open 16-vertex oblato-hypho-titanaborane clusters [(Cp*Ti)2B14H17R] (1: R = H; 2: R = Me) having a non-Wadean 19-skeletal-electron-pair count. Interestingly, these clusters show a six-membered [Ti2B4] open face, which could lead to closo-19-vertex clusters.

Abstract
Isolation of planar [B6 H6 ] is a long-awaited goal in boron chemistry. Several attempts in the past to stabilize [B6 H6 ] were unsuccessful due to the domination of polyhedral geometries. Herein, we report the synthesis of a triple-decker sandwich complex of titanium [(Cp*Ti)2 (μ-η6 : η6 -B6 H6 )(μ-H)6 ] (1), which features the first-ever experimentally achieved nearly planar six-membered [B6 H6 ] ring, albeit within a [B6 H12 ] borate. The small deviation from planarity is a direct consequence of the predicted structural pattern of the middle ring in 24 Valence Electron Count (VEC) triple-decker complexes. The large ring size of [B6 H6 ] in 1 brings the metal-metal distance into the bonding range. However, significant electron delocalization from the M-M bonding orbital to the bridging hydrogen and B-B skeleton in the middle decreases its bond strength.

Abstract
Reaction of [TiCp*Cl3] (Cp*=η5‐C5Me5) with one equivalent of magnesium in tetrahydrofuran at room temperature affords the paramagnetic trinuclear complex [{TiCp*(μ‐Cl)}3(μ3‐Cl)], which reacts with dinitrogen under ambient conditions to give the diamagnetic derivative [{TiCp*(μ‐Cl)}3(μ3‐η1 : η2 : η2‐N2)] and the titanium(III) dimer [{TiCp*Cl(μ‐Cl)}2]. The structure of the trinuclear mixed‐valence complexes has been studied by experimental and theoretical methods and the latter compound represents the first well‐defined example of the μ3‐η1 : η2 : η2 coordination mode of the dinitrogen molecule. The reaction of [{TiCp*(μ‐Cl)}3(μ3‐η1 : η2 : η2‐N2)] with excess HCl in tetrahydrofuran results in clean NH4Cl formation with regeneration of the starting material [TiCp*Cl3]. Therefore, a cyclic ammonia synthesis under ambient conditions can be envisioned by alternating N2/HCl atmospheres in a [TiCp*Cl3]/Mg(excess) reaction mixture in tetrahydrofuran.
