Abstract
By employing enaminones and thiuram disulfides as starting materials, the frontiers of Newman-Kwart rearrangement have been expanded to the alkenyl system for the first time. In addition, instead of leading to the formation of simple carbamothioates, the rearrangement has led to the unprecedented construction of S-heteroaryls. Depending on the differences in the enaminone structure, the efficient synthesis of functionalized isothiazoles and thiophenes has been achieved.

Abstract
Waste recycling and the use of recyclable and available catalysts are important principles in green chemistry in science and industrial research. Therefore in this study, biochar nanoparticles were prepared from biomass pyrolysis. Then, they were magnetized with nickel nanoparticles to improve their recycling. Further, the magnetic biochar nanoparticles (biochar-Ni MNPs) were modified by dithizone ligand and then applied for the fabrication of a ruthenium catalyst (Ru-dithizone@biochar-Ni MNPs). This nanocatalyst was characterized by high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), wavelength dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (WDX), N2 adsorption–desorption isotherms, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and vibrating sample magnetometry (VSM) techniques. The XRD studies of Ru in the nanocatalyst showed that the crystalline structure of ruthenium in the Ru-dithizone@biochar-Ni MNPs was hcp. Another principle of green chemistry is the use of safe and inexpensive solvents, the most suitable of which is water. Therefore, the catalytic activity of this catalyst was investigated as a practical, selective, and recyclable nanocatalyst in the Suzuki carbon–carbon coupling reaction in aqueous media. The VSM curve of this catalyst showed that it could be easily recovered using an external magnet, and recycled multiple times. Also, VSM analysis of the recovered catalyst indicated the good magnetic stability of this catalyst after repeated use. Waste recycling and the use of recyclable and available catalysts are important principles in green chemistry in science and industrial research.![]()

Abstract
The presence of sulfur–carbon bonds is transversal to several areas of chemistry, e.g., drug discovery, materials, and chemical biology. However, a lack of efficient and sustainable procedures for the preparation of thioaminals, the N,S-analogues of O,O-acetals, contributes to this functional group often being overlooked by the scientific community. In this work is described the formation of thioaminals in water promoted by copper(II) triflate.

Abstract
Herein, the copper-catalyzed annulation of enaminones with alkynyl esters for the facile synthesis of different pyrroles with a 2,3,4,5-tetrasubstituted structure has been developed. With Cu(OAc)2 as the only catalyst, the tunable synthesis of 2-vinyl and 2,3-dicarboxyl-functionalized pyrroles has been achieved by using terminal and internal alkynyl esters, respectively. The synthesis of 2-vinyl pyrroles represents the first example accessing 2-vinyl substituted pyrroles via direct cascade reactions involving vinylation and pyrrole ring formation.

Abstract
A highly practical method for C-CN bond formation by C-N bond cleavage on enaminones leading to the efficient synthesis of β-cyano enones is developed. The reactions take place efficiently to provide (E)-β-cyano enones with only a molecular iodine catalyst. In addition, the additional employment of oxalic acid enables the selective synthesis of (Z)-β-cyano enones.

Abstract
Modification of commercially available biaryl monophosphine ligands via ruthenium(II)-catalyzed P(III)-directed-catalyzed ortho C-H secondary alkylation is described. The use of highly ring-strained norbornene as a secondary alkylating reagent is the key to this transformation. A series of highly bulky ligands with a norbornyl group were obtained in excellent yields. The modified ligands with secondary alkyl group outperformed common substituted phosphines in the Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling reaction at a ppm mole level of Pd catalyst.

Abstract
Catalyst species are an important class of materials in chemistry, industry, medicine, and biotechnology. Moreover, waste recycling is an important process in green chemistry and is economically efficient. Herein, magnetic graphene oxide was synthesized using nickel magnetic nanoparticles and further applied as a novel support for the fabrication of a copper catalyst. The catalytic activity of supported copper on magnetic graphene oxide (Cu–ninhydrin@GO–Ni MNPs) was investigated as a selective, practical, and reusable nanocatalyst in the synthesis of diaryl ethers and biphenyls. Some of the obtained products were identified by NMR spectroscopy. This nanocatalyst has been characterized by atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), wavelength dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (WDX), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) techniques. The results obtained from SEM shown that this catalyst has a nanosheet structure. Also, XRD and FT-IR analysis show that the structure of graphene oxide and nickel magnetic nanoparticles is stable during the modification of the nanoparticles and synthesis of the catalyst. The VSM curve of the catalyst shows that this catalyst can be recovered using an external magnet; therefore, it can be reused several times without a significant loss of its catalytic efficiency. The heterogeneity and stability of this nanocatalyst during organic reactions was confirmed by the hot filtration test and AAS technique. Catalytic activity of supported copper on magnetic graphene oxide was investigated as a selective and reusable nanocatalyst in the synthesis of diaryl ethers and biphenyls.![]()

Abstract
A direct enaminone C-N bond coupling functionalization that generates a new C-P bond using dialkyl phosphonate for the efficient and stereoselective synthesis of (E)-alkenylphosphonates is reported. The reactions toward target products proceed well with a broad scope, disclosing a valuable new synthetic application of enaminones by the interesting C(sp2)-N bond elaboration.

Abstract
A series of 12 silica gel-bound enaminones and their Cu(II) complexes were prepared and tested for their suitability as heterogeneous catalysts in azomethine imine-alkyne cycloadditions (CuAIAC). Immobilized Cu(II)-enaminone complexes showed promising catalytic activity in the CuAIAC reaction, but these new catalysts suffered from poor reusability. This was not due to the decoordination of copper ions, as the use of enaminone ligands with additional complexation sites resulted in negligible improvement. On the other hand, reusability was improved by the use of 4-aminobenzoic acid linker, attached to 3-aminopropyl silica gel via an amide bond to the enaminone over the more hydrolytically stable N-arylenamine C-N bond. The study showed that silica gel-bound Cu(II)-enaminone complexes are readily available and suitable heterogeneous catalysts for the synthesis of 6,7-dihydro-1H,5H-pyrazolo[1,2-a]pyrazoles.

Abstract
The C═C double bond cleavage on tertiary enaminones, enabling the formation of a new C-CF3 bond, has been realized as a practical method for the synthesis of α-trifluoromethyl ketones with only the promotion of TBHP and ambient heating. Control experiments support that the reactions proceed via a featured free radical process. The deuterium labeling experiment employing D2O indicates that water participated in the product formation by donating the hydrogen atom for the newly generated α-C-H bond in the product.
