Abstract
The development of advanced nanofluidic membranes with better ion selectivity, efficient energy conversion and high output power density remains challenging. Herein, we prepared nanofluidic hybrid membranes based on TEMPO oxidized cellulose nanofibers (T-CNF) and manganese-based metal organic framework (MOF) using a simple in situ synthesis method. Incorporated T-CNF endows the MOF/T-CNF hybrid membrane with a high cation selectivity up to 0.93. Nanoporous MOF in three-dimensional interconnected nanochannels provides massive ion transport pathways. High transmembrane ion flux and low ion permeation energy barrier are correlated with a superior energy conversion efficiency (36 %) in MOF/T-CNF hybrid membrane. When operating under 50-fold salinity gradient by mixing simulated seawater and river water, the MOF/T-CNF hybrid membrane achieves a maximum power density value of 1.87 W m-2. About 5-fold increase in output power density was achieved compared to pure T-CNF membrane. The integration of natural nanofibers with high charge density and nanoporous MOF materials is demonstrated an effective and novel strategy for the enhancement of output power density of nanofluidic membranes, showing the great potential of MOF/T-CNF hybrid membranes as efficient nanofluidic osmotic energy generators.

Abstract
An effective combination of polyoxometalates (POMs) and porous materials is a feasible method to solve the homogeneity of POMs and synthesize extremely stable POM-based catalysts. Herein, by using simple mechanochemical synthesis, we fabricated a series of composites constructed by Keggin-POMs, p-phenylenediamine (Pa-1), and 1,3,5-triformylphloroglucinol (Tp), which in situ form a stable covalent organic framework (Keggin-POMs@TpPa-1). Notably, the different Keggin-POMs@TpPa-1 composites showed different catalytic effects on thioether oxidation reaction under mild conditions. From the comparison, the catalytic effect of PW12@TpPa-1 with its added amount of 27% H3PW12O40 is superior to that of other composites, whose catalytic efficiency can reach 99%. This study provides some inspiration for designing diverse POM-modified catalysts with outstanding stability and efficiency using COFs as supports.

Abstract
Thermocatalysis of CO2 into high valuable products is an efficient and green method for mitigating global warming and other environmental problems, of which Noble-metal-free metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are one of the most promising heterogeneous catalysts for CO2 thermocatalysis, and many excellent researches have been published. Hence, this review focuses on the valuable products obtained from various CO2 conversion reactions catalyzed by noble-metal-free MOFs, such as cyclic carbonates, oxazolidinones, carboxylic acids, N-phenylformamide, methanol, ethanol, and methane. We classified these published references according to the types of products, and analyzed the methods for improving the catalytic efficiency of MOFs in CO2 reaction. The advantages of using noble-metal-free MOF catalysts for CO2 conversion were also discussed along the text. This review concludes with future perspectives on the challenges to be addressed and potential research directions. We believe that this review will be helpful to readers and attract more scientists to join the topic of CO2 conversion.

Abstract
In this work, a modified electrode named Au/Au NPs-PPy/l-CYs/ZIF-8 was designed and built and simultaneously doped into electropolymerized polypyrrole (PPy) film using cyclic voltammetry (CV). Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS), and CV were used to characterize the composite films. The PPy-(ZIF-8) modified Au electrode was used to determine insulin using Square-Wave Voltammetry (SWV). It was found that the prepared zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 had excellent electrocatalytic activity towards insulin oxidation due to its unique properties. The oxidation peak current of insulin hormone increased with its concentration in the range from 1.0 to 60 nM with the linear regression equation: Ipa = 0.3421C (nM) + 3.2762 (γ = 0.998). The measurement limit was estimated to be 1 nM. While the common coexisting substances showed no interference in the response of the modified electrode to insulin, the modified electrode indicated reproducible behavior and a high level of stability during the experiments. The advantages of using these nanocomposites on the surface of modified electrodes include increased stability, good interaction between the analyte and the modified electrode, conductivity, and excellent performance due to the nanometer size of the composites. As a result, it may be particularly suitable for analytical purposes.

Abstract
A novel manganese metal-organic framework (Mn-MOF) termed UAEU-50 assembled from a benzenedicarboxylate linker (BDC) and trinuclear manganese clusters was synthesized and fully characterized using different spectroscopic and analytic techniques (e.g., X-ray powder diffraction, UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, scanning electron microscopy, and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy). UAEU-50 adopted a hexagonal layer structure and exhibited superior thermal stability and robust chemical stability. Photocatalytic activities of UAEU-50 were investigated using the cycloaddition of CO2 to different epoxides, forming cyclic carbonates. Impressively, UAEU-50 can transform up to 90% photocatalytic CO2 conversion to cyclic carbonates in the visible-light region at ambient conditions.

Abstract
As a well-known greenhouse gas, carbon dioxide (CO2) has attracted increasing levels of attention in areas of energy, environment, climate, etc. Notably, CO2 is an abundant, nonflammable, and renewable C1 feedstock in view of chemistry. Therefore, the transformation of CO2 into organic compounds is an extremely attractive research topic in modern green and sustainable chemistry. Among the numerous CO2 utilization methods, carboxylative cycloaddition of CO2 into propargylic alcohols is an ideal route due to the corresponding products, α-alkylidene cyclic carbonates, which are a series of highly functionalized compounds that supply numerous potential methods for the construction of various synthetically and biologically valuable agents. This cyclization reaction has been intensively studied and systematically summarized, in the past years. Therefore, attention has been gradually transferred to produce more derivative compounds. Herein, the tandem reactions of this cyclization with hydration, amination, alcoholysis, and isomerization to synthesize α-hydroxyl ketones, oxazolidinones, carbamates, unsymmetrical carbonates, tetronic acids, ethylene carbonates, etc. were systematically reviewed.

Abstract
In this work, inspired by a water-assisted three-dimensional supramolecular structure 1, we use a mixed-ligand strategy to form a 3D pillared-layered matrix by the introduction of linear ligands to compete against the water molecules. The resulting analogue microporous MOFs of 2-H, 2-F and 2-N, decorated with different functional groups, similarly show the CO2 uptake. Thanks to the negligible N2 adsorption capacity, enhanced selective adsorption towards CO2 is achieved in compound 2-N. That is, we present here an alternative plan for the high CO2 selective adsorption performance. In addition, the structure stability and moderate affinity for CO2 of these microporous MOFs endow them with excellent reusability.

Abstract
A new type of pyrene-based ammonium bromides (PABs) was synthesized via the reaction of bromomethyl pyrene and tertiary amines with different alkyl chains combined with graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) through π–π stacking interactions. The new pyrene-based ammonium bromides were investigated both in homogenous phase and heterogeneous phase combining with g-C3N4 for the CO2 fixation reaction of epoxides under mild conditions. Obviously, the combination was proved to be an efficient system for the conversion of epoxides. The interaction between g-C3N4 and PABs was confirmed by quantum chemical calculations. g-C3N4/Py-C12 exhibited an excellent yield of cyclic carbonates (above 93%) at 80 °C, atmospheric pressure and solvent-free conditions. A preliminary kinetic study was performed using g-C3N4/Py-C12 and the activation energy was calculated to be 61.5 kJ mol−1. The synergistic interaction of g-C3N4 and PABs plays an important role in the CO2 fixation reaction with epoxides.![]()
