Abstract
New palladium complexes, [Pd(L)(OAc))], have been synthesized. The complexes and their ligand have been characterized by X-ray crystal structure analysis. Interestingly, the molecular structures of the two complexes are stabilized by S⋯O chalcogen bonds.

Abstract
The synthesis and characterization of four platinum(II) complexes using azobenzenes conveniently functionalized as ligands has been carried out. The characteristic photochemical behavior of the complexes due to the presence of azobenzene-type ligands and the role of the ligands in the activation of the complexes has been studied. Their promising cytotoxicity observed in HeLa cells prompted us to study the mechanism of action of these complexes as cytostatic agents. The interaction of the compounds with DNA, studied by circular dichroism, revealed a differential activity of the Pt(II) complexes upon irradiation. The intercalation abilities of the complexes as well as their reactivity with common proteins present in the blood stream allows to confirm some of the compounds obtained as good anticancer candidates.

Abstract
Pyrazole and benzotriazole-containing thioethers, namely 1,5-bis(3,5-dimethylpyrazol-1-yl)-3-thiapentane, 1,8-bis(3,5-dimethylpyrazol-1-yl)-3,6-dithiaoctane and 1,3-bis(1,2,3-benzotriazol-1-yl)-2-thiapropane were prepared and fully characterized. Oxidation of the pyrazole-containing thioether by hydrogen peroxide proceeds selectively to provide a sulfoxide or sulfone, depending on the amount of oxidant used. Oxidation of the benzotriazole derivative by hydrogen peroxide is not selective, and sulfoxide and sulfone form concurrently. Selenium dioxide-catalyzed oxidation of benzotriazole thioether by H2O2, however, proceeds selectively and yields sulfoxide only.
