Abstract
Two noncentrosymmetric compounds, namely, [N-Bz-Py]2[Cu6I8] (1) and [N-Bz-Py]4[Ag9I13] (2) (N-Bz-Py(+) = N-benzylpyridinium), with three-dimensional open frameworks, were synthesized solvothermally via in situ benzylation of pyridine. 1 is constructed from 3-connected Cu3I7 secondary building units (SBUs) with chiral (10,3)-a topology, while the occluded N-Bz-Py(+) forms a complementary supramolecular (10,3)-a net via π-π interactions. 2 is characteristic of acentric connections of trimeric Ag3I8 and hexamer Ag6I12 SBU, while N-Bz-Py(+) in the channels aggregates into asymmetrically supramolecular chains via π-π interactions. Remarkable structural correlations imply the unique amplification and transfer of asymmetric information from V-shaped N-Bz-Py(+) to organic supramolecular nets and inorganic frameworks, which are confirmed by their second harmonic generation responses. Adsorption spectra reveal their semiconductive nature (2.52 eV for 1 and 3.02 eV for 2) and interesting reversible thermochromism for 1 based on the intermolecular charge transfer.

Abstract
In the polymeric title compound, [CuI(C(10)H(8)N(4))](n), the Cu(I) atom is in a four-coordinated tetrahedral geometry, formed by two I atoms and two pyridine N atoms from two different 4,4'-(diazenediyl)dipyridine (4,4'-azpy) ligands. Two μ(2)-I atoms link two Cu(I) atoms to form a planar rhomboid [Cu(2)I(2)] cluster located on an inversion centre, where the distance between two Cu(I) atoms is 2.7781 (15) Å and the Cu-I bond lengths are 2.6290 (13) and 2.7495 (15) Å. The bridging 4,4'-azpy ligands connect the [Cu(2)I(2)] clusters into a two-dimensional (2-D) double-layered grid-like network [parallel to the (10-2) plane], with a (4,4)-connected topology. Two 2-D grid-like networks interweave each other by long 4,4'-azpy bridging ligands to form a dense 2-D double-layered network. To the best of our knowledge, this interwoven 2-D→2-D network is observed for the first time in [Cu(2)I(2)]-organic compounds.

Abstract
A novel two-dimensional coordination polymer, poly[[μ2-1,3-bis(2-methyl-1H-imidazol-1-yl)propane]di-μ4-iodido-di-μ3-iodido-silver(I)], [Ag4I4(C11H16N4)]n, (I), has been synthesized by solvothermal reaction of AgNO3, KI and 1,3-bis(2-methyl-1H-imidazol-1-yl)propane (bmimp). In (I), the two unique AgIcations have AgNI3and AgI4four-coordinated tetrahedral geometries. The bmimp ligand has imposed twofold symmetry. The AgIcations and iodide anions form a unique one-dimensional polymeric column motif incorporating [Ag6I6] hexagonal prisms, which are then connected by bmimp ligands to form two-dimensional organic–inorganic layers. The layers are arranged in parallel in anABABfashion and are packed into the resultant three-dimensional supramolecular framework by van der Waals interactions.
