Abstract
A set of diarylamido-based unsymmetrical [PNNox] pincer ligands containing a chiral oxazoline ring have been synthesized and their nickel and palladium complexes [(2-PPh2(R1)ArN(R1)Ar-2-(R)oxazoline)MCl] (R1 = 4-H, R = (S)-4-iPr, M = Pd (Pd1); R1 = 4-H, R = (S)-4-Bn, M = Pd (Pd2); R1 = 4-H, R = (S)-4-Ph, M = Pd (Pd3); R1 = 4-Me, R = (S)-4-Bn, M = Pd (Pd4); R1 = 4-Me, R = (S)-4-Ph, M = Pd (Pd5); R1 = 4-H, R = 4-Me2, M = Pd (Pd6); R1 = 4-H, R = Benzo[d]-, M = Pd (Pd7); R1 = 4-H, R = (S)-4-Bn, M = Ni (Ni1); R1 = 4-H, R = (S)-4-Ph, M = Ni (Ni2); R1 = 4-Me, R = (S)-4-Bn, M = Ni (Ni3); R1 = 4-Me, R = (S)-4-Ph, M = Pd (Ni4)) were tested to show high catalytic activities for polymerization of norbornene. After activation of methylaluminoxane (MAO), all the nickel and palladium complexes could catalyze the polymerization of norbornene to yield vinyl-type polymers with activities up to 40.3 × 105 g of PNB (mol of Pd)-1 h-1. The copolymerization of norbornene with functional norbornene comonomers was also investigated by catalyst Pd2, accompanied by decreased catalytic activity and low incorporation of functional comonomers.

Abstract
The methods for synthesis of promising norbornene monomers from norbornadiene and quadricyclane are summarized. A strategy for their synthesis is discussed, combining theoretical and experimental approaches to the selection of catalysts and the conditions for carrying out stereoselective reactions. The mechanisms of catalytic reactions of synthesis of norbornene monomers, as well as the progress in the macromolecular design of functional polymeric materials based on them, are considered. The data on industrial processes of production of polynorbornenes and areas of their use are presented.

Abstract
A series of novel cationic palladacycle complexes bearing benzylidene-2,6-diisopropylphenylamine derivatives as ligands and with the general formula [Pd(MeCN)(L)(R-C6H3)CH[double bond, length as m-dash]N{2,6-iPr2-C6H3}][B(3,5-(CF3)2-C6H3)] (R = H, Cl, Br, F, OMe and L = 1,3,5-triaza-7-phosphaadamantane (PTA), tricyclohexylphosphine (PCy3) and triphenylphosphine (PPh3)) were prepared and characterized by a range of analytical techniques. These cationic palladacycle complexes were found to be active precatalysts for the polymerisation of phenylacetylene. The meta-substituent on the cyclometallated ring was found to have a marked effect on the catalyst performance in that complexes, which contained electron-withdrawing substituents, were found to be the most active in the polymerisation process. Furthermore, increasing the steric bulk of the phosphine ligand led to the production of higher molecular weight polyphenylacetylenes (PPA). Polymerisation reactions performed at 25 °C gave a mixture of both cis-transoidal and trans-cisoidal PPA while trans-cisoidal PPA was selectively produced at elevated temperatures (60 °C). Preliminary mechanistic studies demonstrated that polymerisation proceeds via dissociation of the C,N-chelating ligand, and involves the formation of an iminium cationic fragment.

Abstract
A series of bis(β-ketoamino) titanium complexes containing pyrazolone rings (1⁻3) have been synthesized, characterized, and used as precursors for homo- and copolymerization of ethylene and norbornene. The titanium complexes activated with methylaluminoxane (MAO) exhibited good activities for homopolymerization of ethylene (E) to produce linear polyethylenes (PEs). Ethylene⁻norbornene copolymers (E⁻N) were also prepared by these catalysts with moderate activities, and influences of ligand substituents and norbornene addition on copolymer microstructure were studied in detail. Microstructure analysis of the E⁻N copolymers by 13C NMR and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) techniques showed that alternating (ENEN) and isolated (ENEE) norbornene predominately appeared in the copolymer chain, and the NN dyad and NNN triad sequences were also present in the copolymers obtained by the less bulky catalyst 1.
