Abstract
A new Eu3+-doped Gd3+ complex of formula [Eu0.0135Gd0.9865(pta)3me-phen] was synthesized and structurally characterized (Hpta = benzoyltrifluoroacetone, me-phen = 5-methyl-1,10-phenanthroline). The photoluminescence study revealed that when the compound was excited at RT, under a 457 nm continuous laser, the material exhibited high luminescence due to the antenna effect of the ligands, as well as a good balance between the phosphorescence from the spin-forbidden triplet (from the organic ligands), and the characteristic lanthanide f-f transitions. The ratio between the previous emissions drastically changed when the sample was heated up to 62 °C inside a tubular furnace. This ratio was investigated using the luminescence intensity ratio method, to analyze the capabilities of the sample as a temperature sensor. The relative sensitivity reached a maximum of 11.4 °C-1 %, maintaining a detection limit below 0.15 °C for the whole temperature range.

Abstract
A series of new complexes, [Ln (2,4-DMBA)3(5,5'-DM-2,2'-bipy)]2 (Ln = Sm(1), Eu (2)), [Pr (2,4-DMBA)3 (5,5'-DM-2,2'-bipy)]2·0.5(C2H5OH) (3), [Ln (2,4-DMBA)3 (5,5'-DM-2,2'-bipy)]2·0.5(2,4-DMBAH)·0.25(5,5'-DM-2,2'-bipy) (Ln = Tb (4), Dy (5)) (2,4-DMBA = 2,4-dimethylbenzoate, 5,5'-DM-2,2'-bipy = 5,5'-dimethy-2,2'-bipyridine) were synthesized via hydrothermal reaction conditions. The complexes were characterized through elemental analysis, Infrared spectra (IR), Raman (R) spectra, UV-Vis spectra, single X-ray diffraction. Single crystal data show that complexes 1-5 are binuclear complexes, but they can be divided into three different crystal structures. The thermal decomposition mechanism of complexes 1-5 were investigated by the technology of simultaneous TG/DSC-FTIR. What's more, the luminescent properties of complexes 1-2 and 4 were discussed, and the luminescence lifetime (τ) of complexes 2 and 4 were calculated.

Abstract
A novel lanthanide double-decker complex with nickel metallacrowns (MCs) as coordinating ligands has been synthesized. In the 3d/4f metallacrown complex TbIII[12-MCNiIIN(shi)-4]2, the central lanthanide ion is sandwiched between two [12-MC-4] units, forming an almost ideal square-antiprismatic coordination sphere. The resulting zenithal angles at the central lanthanide ion are smaller than those for previously reported sandwich compounds. Magnetic measurements reveal an energy barrier of 346 K under zero field and up to 585 K under 3200 Oe, the highest reported for metallacrowns with D4d symmetry.

Abstract
Two series of highly luminescent yttrium(iii), europium(iii) and terbium(iii) metal-organic frameworks containing diimine aromatic ligands and the dicarboxylate linker trans-1,4-cyclohexanedicarboxylate (chdc2-) which can be described by the general formulas [M2(bpy)2(chdc)3], where M = Y3+ (1), Eu3+ (2), and Tb3+ (3) and bpy = 2,2'-bipyridyl, and [M2(phen)2(chdc)3], where M = Y3+ (4), Eu3+ (5), and Tb3+ (6) and phen = 1,10-phenanthroline, were synthesized and characterized. All compounds are based on the same dinuclear {M2(L)2(OOCR)6} building blocks and possess a similar topology of the 3D framework with narrow pores. The chelate aromatic ligands act as efficient light-harvesting antennas for subsequent energy transfer to the emitting metal center (M = Eu3+, Tb3+) or intraligand photoemission (M = Y3+). As a result, the reported compounds display intense emission in the red (Eu3+), green (Tb3+) or blue (Y3+) regions representing three basic colors (RGB) of visible light. The measured quantum yields (QYs) of the solid-state luminescence for individual compounds were found to be 63% (1), 46% (2), 59% (3), 2.3% (4), 55% (5) and 49% (6). The drastic reduction of the luminescence efficiency for 4 is explained by the strong disorder of phen ligands. The high thermal stability (up to 300 °C) and exceptional moisture resistance of the bpy-based frameworks 1-3 were confirmed by TG and PXRD measurements. Various bimetal or trimetal compositions were also prepared for the bpy-series. The luminescence properties of these mixed-metal compounds depend on both the chemical composition and excitation wavelength (λex). Remarkably, pure white emission with color temperature = 6126 K was achieved for [Y1.68Eu0.08Tb0.24(bpy)2(chdc)3] at λex = 360 nm with QY = 20%. The reported results suggest that the obtained coordination framework series is a convenient platform for the design of highly efficient light emitting materials with tunable properties.

Abstract
A series of heterometallic carboxylate 1D polymers of the general formula [LnIIICd2(piv)7(H2O)2]n·nMeCN (LnIII = Sm (1), Eu (2), Tb (3), Dy (4), Ho (5), Er (6), Yb (7); piv = anion of trimethylacetic acid) was synthesized and structurally characterized. The use of CdII instead of ZnII under similar synthetic conditions resulted in the formation of 1D polymers, in contrast to molecular trinuclear complexes with LnIIIZn2 cores. All complexes 1–7 are isostructural. The luminescent emission and excitation spectra for 2–4 have been studied, the luminescence decay kinetics for 2 and 3 was measured. Magnetic properties of the complexes 3–5 and 7 have been studied; 4 and 7 exhibited the properties of field-induced single-molecule magnets in an applied external magnetic field. Magnetic properties of 4 and 7 were modelled using results of SA-CASSCF/SO-RASSI calculations and SINGLE_ANISO procedure. Based on the analysis of the magnetization relaxation and the results of ab initio calculations, it was found that relaxation in 4 predominantly occurred by the sum of the Raman and QTM mechanisms, and by the sum of the direct and Raman mechanisms in the case of 7.

Abstract
Organophosphate-chloride complexes [{(2,6-iPr2C6H3-O)2POO}2LnCl(CH3OH)4]·2CH3OH, Ln = Nd (1), Eu (2), Gd (3), and Tb (4) have been obtained and structurally characterized. Their reaction with 2,2':6',2″-terpyridine leads to the formation of 1:1 adducts ([{(2,6-iPr2C6H3-O)2POO}2LnCl(terpy)(H2O)2(CH3OH)], Ln = Eu (5), Gd (6), Tb (7) with exception of Nd, where tris-diisopropylphenylphosphate complex [{(2,6-iPr2C6H3-O)2POO}3Nd) (terpy)(H2O)(CH3OH)] (8) was obtained due to the ligand metathesis. A bright luminescence observed for the Eu and Tb organophosphate complexes is the first example of an application of organophosphate ligands for 4f-ions luminescence sensitization. Photophysical properties of all complexes were analyzed by optical spectroscopy and an energy transfer scheme was discussed. A combination of two types of ligands into the coordination sphere (phosphate and phenanthroline) allows designing the Eu surrounding with very high intrinsic quantum yield QEuEu (0.92) and highly luminescent Ln complexes for both visible and near-infrared (NIR) regions.

Abstract
Template reaction between 5-methylsalicylaldehyde and 2-hydroxy-1,3-propanediamine in the presence of copper ion led to dinuclear and mononuclear copper(ii) complexes [Cu2L(CH3COO)(CH3OH)](CH3OH) (1) and [CuHL](CH3OH) (2), where H3L is N,N'-bis(5-methylsalicylidene)-2-hydroxy-1,3-propanediamine. The result of the reactions between 5-methylsalicylaldehyde and 2-hydroxy-1,3-propanediamine in the presence of lanthanide ions and/or copper(ii) ion was N,N'-bis(5-methylsalicylidene)-2-hydroxy-1,3-propanediamine (H3L B) or [CuHL](CH3OH) (2), respectively. Structures of the compounds were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction and physicochemical methods. The microstructures and phase compositions of crystals were studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). In dinuclear complex [Cu2L(CH3COO)(CH3OH)](CH3OH) (1), two copper(ii) ions are bond to one H3L ligand and one acetate ion. Coordination modes of the two copper centers are different: the geometry of copper 1 is almost ideal square-planar, while that for copper 2 can be described as tetragonal pyramidal. In complex [CuHL](CH3OH) (2), the copper(ii) ion is four coordinated and the coordination, rather than square-planar, can be described as flattened tetrahedral. Formation of complexes between copper(ii) or lanthanide ions with N,N'-bis(5-methylsalicylidene)-2-hydroxy-1,3-propanediamine (H3L) was also studied in solution by pH potentiometry. It should be mentioned that the complexes of lanthanide ions exist only in solution. Additionally, the salen-type ligand H3L and its dinuclear and mononuclear copper(ii) complexes were studied by cyclic voltammetry, and their spectroelectrochemical properties were examined.
