Solvent-Free Aerobic Oxidative Cleavage of Methyl Oleate to Biobased Aldehydes over Mechanochemically Synthesized Supported AgAu Nanoparticles. Chempluschem 2023; 88:e202300268. Abstract
The performance of mechanochemically synthesized supported bimetallic AgAu nanoalloy catalysts was evaluated in the oxidative cleavage of methyl oleate, a commonly available unsaturated bio-derived raw material. An extensive screening of supports (SiO2 , C, ZrO2 , Al2 O3 ), metallic ratios (Ag : Au), reaction times, temperatures, and use of solvents was carried out. The performance was optimized towards productivity and selectivity for the primary cleavage products (aldehydes and oxoesters). The optimal conditions were achieved in the absence of solvent, using Ag8 Au92 /SiO2 as catalyst, at 80 °C, reaction time of 1 h, substrate to catalyst=555 and 10 bar of molecular oxygen. A strong support effect was observed: the selectivity to aldehydes was best with silica as support, and to esters was best using zirconia. This shows not only that mechanochemical preparation of bimetallic catalysts is a powerful tool to generate useful catalyst compositions, but also that a safe, green, solventless synthesis of bio-derived products can be achieved by aerobic oxidative cleavage.

Abstract
Due to their intrinsic physical properties, which includes being able to perform as volatile liquids at room and biological temperatures, fragrance ingredients/intermediates make ideal candidates for continuous-flow manufacturing. This review highlights the potential crossover between a multibillion dollar industry and the flourishing sub-field of flow chemistry evolving within the discipline of organic synthesis. This is illustrated through selected examples of industrially important transformations specific to the fragrances and flavours industry and by highlighting the advantages of conducting these transformations by using a flow approach. This review is designed to be a compendium of techniques and apparatus already published in the chemical and engineering literature which would constitute a known solution or inspiration for commonly encountered procedures in the manufacture of fragrance and flavour chemicals.

Abstract
In recent years, the development of the chemical industry has been moving in a
green, safe and efficient direction. Oxidation reactions are one of the most important types of
reactions and have key applications in food, medicine, cosmetics, and petrochemicals. However,
the occurrence of the oxidation reaction is accompanied by a strong exothermic phenomenon,
and improper control can easily lead to safety problems and even explosions. The
realization of an environmentally friendly oxidation reaction is a key industrial milestone.
The unique structural characteristics of microreactors result in good mass and heat transfer
performance, precise control of the reaction temperature, reduced risk of explosion, improved
safety production and selectivity of products. These unique advantages of the microreactor
determine its significant application value in oxidation reactions. In this paper, the research
progress of several typical oxidation reactions, including alkane oxidation, alcohol oxidation,
aldosterone oxidation, aromatics oxidation and olefin oxidation combined with microreactors,
is reviewed systematically.

Abstract
Continuous flow reactors form part of a rapidly growing research area that has changed the way synthetic chemistry is performed not only in academia but also at the industrial level. This Review highlights the most recent advances in cycloaddition reactions performed in flow systems. Cycloadditions are atom-efficient transformations for the synthesis of carbo- and heterocycles, involved in the construction of challenging skeletons of complex molecules. The main advantages of translating these processes into flow include using intensified conditions, safer handling of hazardous reagents and gases, easy tuning of reaction conditions, and straightforward scaling up. These benefits are especially important in cycloadditions such as the copper(I)-catalyzed azide alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC), Diels-Alder reaction, ozonolysis and [2+2] photocycloadditions. Some of these transformations are key reactions in the industrial synthesis of pharmaceuticals.

Abstract
The synthesis and characterization of a hybrid Mn(III)-porphyrin magnetic nanocomposite is described. Moreover, a sustainable methodology for epoxidation of olefins is reported, using O[Formula: see text] as a green oxidant and the magnetic nanoparticle as a recyclable catalyst. High activity in alkene oxidation was observed, with full selectivity for epoxide formation. The magnetic catalyst presented high stability, being recovered and reused in five consecutive runs without loss of catalytic activity or selectivity in cyclooctene oxidation. Moreover, the catalytic system showed very good reactivity toward epoxidation of a range of terminal, substituted, cyclic or acyclic, aliphatic and aromatic olefins, including terpene and steroid derivatives, affording a range of biologically relevant epoxides in excellent yields. The isobutyric acid, formed as side-product, was recovered with high yield and purity, which provides the potential reutilization of this important industrial product.

Abstract
An innovative and eco-friendly one-pot synthesis of bio-based polyurethanes is proposed via the epoxy-ring opening of epoxidized soybean oil (ESO) with methanol, followed by the reaction of methoxy bio-polyols intermediates with 2,6-tolyl-diisocyanate (TDI). Both synthetic steps, methanolysis and polyurethane linkage formation, are promoted by a unique catalyst, molybdenum(VI) dichloride dioxide (MoCl2O2), which makes this procedure an efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally safer method amenable to industrial scale-up.
