F-Amphiphilic 1,2,3-Triazoles by Unexpected Intramolecular Cyclisation of Vinyl Azides

Metal-Free Cyanation of gem-Difluoroalkenes via Azide-Mediated C-C Double Bond Fragmentation

Activation and cleavage of C-C double bonds are long-standing challenges in synthetic chemistry. Herein, we report an unprecedented azide-mediated C-C double bond fragmentation of gem-difluoroalkenes under mild and metal-free conditions, enabling the efficient synthesis of structurally diverse aromatic nitriles in moderate to good yields. This protocol is also amenable to the cyanation of gem-dichloro and dibromo alkenes. This reaction features simple operation and good functional group compatibility and can be implemented at a gram scale.

Reorganization from Kinetically Stable Aggregation States to Thermodynamically Stable Nanotubes of BINOL-Derived Amphiphiles in Water

The synthesis and self-assembly behavior of newly designed BINOL-based amphiphiles is presented. With minor structural modifications, the aggregation of these amphiphiles could be successfully tuned to form different types of assemblies in water, ranging from vesicles to cubic structures. Simple sonication induced the rearrangement of different kinetically stable aggregates into thermodynamically stable self-assembled nanotubes, as observed by cryo-TEM.

Strategies Towards the Synthesis of N2-Substituted 1,2,3-Triazoles

The chemistry of 1,2,3-triazoles gained much attention since the discovery of the copper catalyzed Alkyne-azide cycloaddition (CuAAC) reaction which delivers exclusively the 1,4-regioisomer in high yields. On the other hand there is still no universal methodology capable of delivering the N2 substituted regioisomer. The unique properties of these N2-substituted 1,2,3-triazoles have stimulated synthetic efforts on the developments of methodologies capable of delivering it in high yield and selectivity. These efforts are the subject of the presented review.
