Abstract
A facile and enantioselective access to a functionalized octahydroacridine scaffold was developed via an organocatalytic domino sequence between cyclohexenone and 2- N-substituted benzaldehyde. High levels of yields (up to 99%) and enantioselectivities (up to 99:1 er) were readily achieved in this developed organocatalytic transformation, which holds promising applications in the construction of complex multicyclic systems for further pharmacological studies.

Abstract
With the aid of in situ protection by N-(2-formylphenyl)-4-methyl-benzenesulfonamide, enantioselective allylic alkylation of Morita-Baylis-Hillman carbonates with diethyl 2-aminomalonate was successfully realized. The corresponding adducts can be obtained in up to 99% yield with up to 98% ee as well as excellent regioselectivity. Besides, the adducts with opposite configurations were readily prepared by utilizing easily available and inexpensive quinine or quinidine as organocatalyst. Facile deprotection of the resulting adduct provides straightforward access to enantiopure α-methylene-γ-lactam.

Abstract
3-Spiro[cyclopropa[a]pyrrolizine]- and 3-spiro[3-azabicyclo[3.1.0]hexane]oxindoles were prepared in moderate to high yields via one-pot three-component reactions using substituted isatins, α-amino acids, and cyclopropenes. The key step is an intramolecular [3 + 2]-cycloaddition reaction of an in situ generated azomethine ylide onto a cyclopropene. Both N-substituted and N-unsubstituted α-amino acids, dipeptide Gly-Gly, and also benzylamine were used as the amine component for the azomethine ylide generation. The anticancer activity of some of the obtained compounds against human leukemia K562 cell line was evaluated by flow cytometry in vitro.

Abstract
The mechanistic exploration and an expanded experimental discussion of the organocatalyzed, asymmetric Pfau-d'Angelo reaction by exploiting a bifunctional 1° amine thiourea catalyst system is disclosed. Notable breadth in substrate scope has been demonstrated on both the cyclic ketone moiety and the α,β-unsaturated electrophile. Exploration into the matched and mismatched selectivity of this process with a ketone containing pre-existing stereocenters has been demonstrated. Computational analyses of the reaction mechanism are reported. In concert with kinetic isotope effect (KIE) experiments, these computational results provide a detailed understanding of the likely mechanism, including the aspects of the organocatalyst scaffold that are critical for stereoselectivity.

Abstract
A squaramide catalysed aza-Michael/Michael cascade reaction between nitroalkenes and tosylaminomethyl enones or enoates afforded highly functionalized chiral pyrrolidines in good yields (up to 99%) with good diastereoselectivities (up to 91 : 9 dr) and excellent enantioselectivities (up to >99% ee) under mild conditions.
