Tyrosinase-mediated synthesis of larvicidal active 1,5-diphenyl pent-4-en-1-one derivatives against Culex quinquefasciatus and investigation of their ichthyotoxicity. Sci Rep 2021; 11:20730. Abstract
1,5-diphenylpent-4-en-1-one derivatives were synthesised using the grindstone method with Cu(II)-tyrosinase used as a catalyst. This method showed a high yield under mild reaction conditions. The synthesised compounds were identified by FTIR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, mass spectrometry, and elemental analysis. In this study, a total of 17 compounds (1a-1q) were synthesised, and their larvicidal and antifeedant activities were evaluated. Compound 1i (1-(5-oxo-1,5-diphenylpent-1-en-3-yl)-3-(3-phenylallylidene)thiourea) was notably more active (LD50: 28.5 µM) against Culex quinquefasciatus than permethrin(54.6 µM) and temephos(37.9 µM), whereas compound 1i at 100 µM caused 0% mortality in Oreochromis mossambicus within 24 h in an antifeedant screening, with ichthyotoxicity determined as the death ratio (%) at 24 h. Compounds 1a, 1e, 1f, 1j, and 1k were found to be highly toxic, whereas 1i was not toxic in antifeedant screening. Compound 1i was found to possess a high larvicidal activity against C. quinquefasciatus and was non-toxic to non-target aquatic species. Molecular docking studies also supported the finding that 1i is a potent larvicide with higher binding energy than the control (- 10.0 vs. - 7.6 kcal/mol) in the 3OGN protein. Lead molecules are important for their larvicidal properties and application as insecticides.

Abstract
A series of aromatic sulfonic acids is synthesized by subjecting arenes and NaHSO4·H2O to high-speed ball milling in the presence of P2O5. It is suggested the aromatic sulfonation occurs via in situ generated H2SO4 to give aromatic sulfonic acids. In some cases, formation of diaryl sulfones was observed.

Abstract
A novel photocatalyzed cross-dehydrogenative coupling reaction of N-Boc-tetrahydroisoquinolines with α,β-unsaturated ketones has been developed. This research provides an easy access to a variety of C1-substituted tetrahydroisoquinolines, which can be further transformed into benzo[a]-quinolizine-2-ones, the skeletons of natural products with a wide range of biological activities. The load of the photocatalyst is low and the oxidant is inexpensive and less toxic.

Abstract
We report herein the development of two pathways for the preparation of levo-praziquantel (R-PZQ), which involves three-/four-step processes of a mechanochemical (asymmetric) aza-Henry/acylation reaction, a hydrogenation reaction, (chiral resolution) and a solvent-free acylation-ring closing reaction. The key intermediate (R)-1-aminomethyl tetrahydroisoquinoline could be obtained either by chiral resolution with a rational reuse of the S-isomer or by mechanochemical enantioselective synthesis that refrained from using a bulky toxic solvent. The efficiency and scalability of both the developed routes were demonstrated and desired target product was obtained in a satisfactory yield with excellent enantiopurity (>99%), offering practical, concise and environmentally friendly alternatives to access R-PZQ.

Abstract
A protocol for the efficient synthesis of arylbenzodioxy xanthenedione scaffolds was developed via a one-pot multi-component reaction of aromatic aldehydes, 2-hydroxy-1,4-naphthoquinone, and 3,4-methylenedioxy phenol using mesoporous PbO nanoparticles (NPs) as a catalyst under ball milling conditions. The synthesis protocol offers outstanding advantages, including short reaction time (60 min), excellent yields of the products (92-97%), solvent-free conditions, use of mild and reusable PbO NPs as a catalyst, simple purification of the products by recrystallization, and finally, the use of a green process of dry ball milling.

Abstract
Polyaromatic hydrocarbons are central molecules in the future of nanotechnology. However, the synthesis of these molecules is limited by their lack of solubility in solvents, especially green solvents, their ease of oxidation in solution and use of harmful reagents. Solvent-free mechanochemistry has been shown to have excellent potential for these types of molecules and should provide a much more environmentally benign approach for the synthesis of this very important class of molecules. This report details the use of mechanochemistry on an iterative strategy for the synthesis of polyaromatic hydrocarbon derivatives. Abstract
A mechanically-activated chemoselective Heck coupling for the synthesis of 3-vinylindazoles has been developed with the aid of catalytic amounts of TBAB and NaBr as both dehalogenation restrainer and grinding auxiliary. After tuning of the chemical conditions and mechanical parameters, a series of non-activated 3-bromoindazoles and a broad scope of olefins worked well to give the corresponding coupling products in good to excellent yields. A further application of this protocol was performed in a two-step mechanochemical Heck/Migita cross coupling, which provided a highly efficient route for the synthesis of axitinib.

Abstract
In this paper, the synthesis of a cheap, reusable and ligand-free Pd catalyst supported on MgAl layered double hydroxides (Pd/MgAl-LDHs) by co-precipitation and reduction methods is described. The catalyst was used in Heck reactions under high-speed ball milling (HSBM) conditions at room temperature. The effects of milling-ball size, milling-ball filling degree, reaction time, rotation speed and grinding auxiliary category, which would influence the yields of mechanochemical Heck reactions, were investigated in detail. The characterization results of XRD, ICP–MS and XPS suggest that Pd/MgAl-LDHs have excellent textural properties with zero-valence Pd on its layers. The reaction results indicate that the catalyst could be utilized in HSBM systems to afford a wide range of Heck coupling products in satisfactory yields. Furthermore, this catalyst could be easily recovered and reused for at least five times without significant loss of catalytic activity.
