Abstract
MgI2-catalyzed nucleophilic ring-opening reactions of donor-acceptor cyclopropanes with indoline-2-thiones as easy-to-handle sulfur nucleophiles were investigated. A series of functionalized γ-indolylthio butyric acid derivatives were synthesized in good to excellent yields under mild reaction conditions. Furthermore, the thioether functionalized ring-opening products could be transformed to sulfone and methionine analogues.

Abstract
The hexameric resorcin[4]arene capsule as a self-assembled organocatalyst promotes a series of reactions like the carbonyl–ene cyclization of (S)-citronellal preferentially to isopulegol, the water elimination from 1,1-diphenylethanol, the isomerization of α-pinene and β-pinene preferentially to limonene and minor amounts of camphene. The role of the supramolecular catalyst consists in promoting the protonation of the substrates leading to the formation of cationic intermediates that are stabilized within the cavity with consequent peculiar features in terms of acceleration and product selectivity. In all cases the catalytic activity displayed by the hexameric capsule is remarkable if compared to many other strong Brønsted or Lewis acids.

Abstract
The Lewis acid-promoted self-condensation of 2-indolylmethanols has been revealed. On treatment with La(OTf)3, highly substituted indeno[1,2-b]indole derivatives have been synthesized by using easily accessible 2-indolylmethanols with up to 94% yields. The utility of this method is further highlighted by evaluating the initial photophysical properties of some prepared products, indicating that the protocol may have potential applications in the construction of novel fluorescent materials.

Abstract
The Lewis acid catalyzed ring opening reaction of Donor-Acceptor (D-A) cyclopropanes with alkyl hydroperoxides is reported to furnish various peroxycarbonyls and 1,3-haloperoxygenated compounds in good to excellent yields. This method adds another instance to scarcely reported noncyclilizing 1,3-bisfunctionalization of D-A cyclopropanes with two different functional groups and relies on the dual role of peroxide as nucleophile and oxidant through an orchestrated reaction sequence. The products obtained, including α-heterosubstituted peroxy compounds, are amenable to useful synthetic elaboration.
