Abstract
Herein, we report the development of metal-free one/two-pot procedures for the synthesis of benzo[c]isoxazol-3(1H)-one (benzisoxazolone) heterocycles by designing diaryliodonium salts featuring ortho-ester or nitrile functional groups. These react smoothly with protected hydroxylamines under mild conditions to produce N-arylhydroxylamine intermediates, which readily cyclize to give benzisoxazolone derivatives under acidic conditions. This metal-free process maintains the weak N-O bond, tolerates a wide range of diaryliodonium salts and protected hydroxylamines with diverse functional/protecting groups, thereby overcoming the challenges associated with previous transformations. The protocol expands the reaction scope and broadens the chemical space of the fused isoxazolone backbones to include unprecedented five-membered heteroaryl-fused isoxazolones in high yields. This method is also applicable to gram-scale synthesis, and the resulting benzisoxazolones can be effectively derivatized at the N-position to afford valuable compounds.

Abstract
Herein, we report a general method for copper-catalyzed N-arylation of isatoic anhydrides with unsymmetrical iodonium salts at room temperature. The developed catalytic protocol is mild and operationally simple, and aryl(TMP)iodonium trifluoroacetate is employed as the arylating partner. The methodology offers the broad applicability of both structurally and electronically diverse aryl groups from aryl(TMP)iodonium salts to access N-arylated isatoic anhydrides in moderate to excellent yields (53-92%). Moreover, the substituted isatoic anhydrides are equally compatible with the protocol too. To demonstrate the synthetic utilities of the N-arylation process, we also report an alternative approach for biologically relevant fenamic acid derivatives and N,N'-diarylindazol-3-ones in a one-pot step economical system. In addition, the scale-up synthesis of flufenamic acid is also illustrated.

Abstract
Lewis base-catalyzed cascade nucleophilic/aza-Michael addition reaction of N-alkoxy β-oxo-acrylamides with isocyanates has been developed to afford various highly functionalized hydantoin derivatives in 80-98% yields under mild reaction conditions. The intriguing features of this method include metal-free reaction conditions, low catalyst loading, broad substrate scope and short reaction time.

Abstract
The arylation of azaheterocycles can be considered as one of the most important processes for the preparation of various biologically active compounds. In the present work, we describe a method for the copper-catalyzed N-arylation of hindered oxazolidinones using diaryliodonium salts. The method succeeds in good to excellent yields for the arylation of 4-alkyloxazolidinones, including sterically hindered isopropyl- and tert-butyl-substituted. The efficiency of the method was demonstrated for a wide range of diaryliodonium salts - symmetric and unsymmetric as well as ortho-substituted derivatives. The developed approach will provide an important contribution in the development and preparation of novel drugs and bioactive molecules containing oxazolidinone moieties.

Abstract
A photochemical deracemization of 5-substituted 3-phenylimidazolidine-2,4-diones (hydantoins) is reported (27 examples, 69%-quant., 80-99% ee). The reaction is catalyzed by a chiral diarylketone which displays a two-point hydrogen bonding site. Mechanistic evidence (DFT calculations, radical clock experiments, H/D labeling) suggests the reaction to occur by selective hydrogen atom transfer (HAT). Upon hydrogen binding, one substrate enantiomer displays the hydrogen atom at the stereogenic center to the photoexcited catalyst allowing for a HAT from the substrate and eventually for its conversion into the product enantiomer. The product enantiomer is not processed by the catalyst and is thus enriched in the photostationary state.
