Abstract
L-DOPA (levodopa) is a therapeutic agent which is the most effective medication for treating Parkinson's disease, but it needs dose optimization, and therefore its analytical determination is required. Laboratory analytical instruments can be routinely used to measure L-DOPA but are not always available in clinical settings and traditional research laboratories, and they also have slow result delivery times and high costs. The use of electroanalytical sensing overcomes these problems providing a highly sensitivity, low-cost, and readily portable solution. Consequently, we overview the electroanalytical determination of L-DOPA reported throughout the literature summarizing the endeavors toward sensing L-DOPA, and we offer insights into future research opportunities.

Abstract
A novel modification of a paste carbon electrode by Bentonite (Bent) and l-Cysteine (l-Cyst) was carried out for uric acid (UA) and ascorbic acid (AA) detection and quantification. Morphological and compositional characterization of the electrode surface were carried out using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopic analysis (EDS). Cyclic voltammetry (CV) and square wave voltammetry (SWV) techniques were used to analyze UA and AA. The obtained sensor shows a good stability, sensibility, selectivity, and regeneration ability. Accordingly, the limit of detection (LOD) is found to be 0.031 μm and 9.6 μm for UA and AA, respectively. A good linearity in the range of 0.1 to 100 μm for UA and 10 to 1000 μm for AA was obtained. The peak-to-peak separation of UA-AA (ΔEUA-AA ) was determined to be 330 mV. In addition, the sensor is applied successfully to monitor UA and AA in serum samples.

Abstract
This study is on current developments concerning ferrocene (FC) and its derivatives on the basis of electrochemical biosensors and sensors. The distinct physiochemical characteristics of FC have enabled the development of new sensor devices, specifically electrochemical sensors. Several articles have focused on the implementation of FC as an electrode constituent while discussing its electrochemical behavior. Furthermore, typical FC-design-based biosensors and sensors are considered as well as practical examples. The favorable design of FC-based biosensors and general sensors needs adequate control of their chemical and physical characteristics in addition to their surface immobilization and functionalization.

3D cloves bud like Gd doped ZnO strewn rGO hybrid for highly selective determination of l-dopa in the presence of carbidopa and ascorbic acid. J Pharm Biomed Anal 2019; 174:182-190. Abstract
An electrochemical sensor using three dimensional (3D) cloves bud like gadolinium doped ZnO nanoflowers strewn reduced graphene oxide (GZO@rGO) modified glassy carbon electrode was proposed for the sensitive and selective detection of l-dopa. The GZO@rGO nanocomposite was synthesized by hydrothermal method and characterized by a variety of analytical and spectroscopy techniques, viz. Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy, X-Ray Diffraction, Fourier Transformed Infrared Spectrum and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The electrochemical characterization was evaluated by Cyclic Voltammetry (CV), Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) and Differential Pulse Voltammetry (DPV). The 3D cloves bud like GZO@rGO hybrid displayed the highest electro-catalytic behaviour for the selective l-dopa detection. Under optimum conditions, the oxidation current response of l-dopa is directly proportional to its concentration ranging from 10 to 100 nM. The sensitivity and limit of detection was calculated as 0.1 μA nM-1 cm-2 and 0.82 nM respectively. Moreover, the proposed electrode offers excellent selectivity, because it can efficiently evade the intervention of carbidopa and ascorbic acid even in the higher concentration. Thus, the reported sensor exhibits accurate determination of l-dopa (in the presence of carbidopa & ascorbic acid) and possesses an excellent real-time application with Mucuna prurita, pharmaceutical and human urine samples.

Abstract
This work describes the development of a new sensor for simultaneous determination of tryptophan and melatonin. The proposed sensor was an ionic liquid carbon paste electrode modified with reduced graphene oxides decorated with SnO2-Co3O4 nanoparticles. The voltammetric oxidation of the analytes by the proposed sensor confirmed that the electrooxidation process undergoes a two-electron/one-proton reaction for melatonin and a two-electron/two-proton reaction for tryptophan in diffusion-controlled processes. Moreover, based on the excellent electrochemical properties of the modified electrode, a sensitive voltammetric method was used for individual and simultaneous determination of melatonin and tryptophan in the aqueous solutions. Under the optimized experimental conditions, a linear response obtained in the range of 0.02 to 6.00μmolL-1 with detection limits of 4.1 and 3.2nmolL-1 for melatonin and tryptophan, respectively. The prepared sensor possessed accurate and rapid response toward melatonin and tryptophan with a good sensitivity, selectivity, stability, and repeatability. Finally, the applicability of the proposed sensor was verified by evaluation of melatonin and tryptophan in various real samples including human serum and tablet samples.

Abstract
In the present paper, the use of a carbon paste electrode modified by 3-(4'-amino-3'-hydroxy-biphenyl-4-yl)-acrylic acid (3,4'AA) and ZrO2 nanoparticles prepared by a simple and rapid method was described. The heterogeneous electron transfer properties of (3,4'AA) coupled to ZrO2 nanoparticles at the carbon paste electrode were investigated using cyclic voltammetry, chronoamperometry, and square wave voltammetry in aqueous buffer solutions. Under the optimized conditions, the square wave voltammetric peak currents of hydrazine increased linearly with hydrazine concentrations in the range of 2.5 × 10(-8) to 5.0 × 10(-5) M, and detection limit of 14 nM was obtained for hydrazine. Finally, this modified electrode was used for the determination of hydrazine in water samples, using standard addition method.

Abstract
The electrochemical oxidation of hydroxylamine on the surface of a carbon paste electrode modified with carbon nanotubes and 2,7-bis(ferrocenyl ethyl)fluoren-9-one is studied. The electrochemical response characteristics of the modified electrode toward hydroxylamine and phenol were investigated. The results showed an efficient catalytic activity of the electrode for the electro-oxidation of hydroxylamine, which leads to lowering its overpotential. The modified electrode exhibits an efficient electron-mediating behavior together with well-separated oxidation peaks for hydroxylamine and phenol. Also, the modified electrode was used for determination of hydroxylamine and phenol in some real samples.

Abstract
In this study, a carbon paste electrode modified with TiO2 nanoparticles and ferrocene monocarboxylic acid (FM) was used to prepare a novel electrochemical sensor. The objective of this novel electrode modification was to seek new electrochemical performances for the detection of methyldopa in the presence of folic acid and glycine. The peak potentials recorded in a phosphate buffer solution (PBS) of pH7.0 were 325, 750 and 880 mV vs. Ag/AgCl/KCl (3.0M) for methyldopa, folic acid and glycine, respectively. Under the optimum pH of 7.0, the oxidation of methyldopa occurred at a potential about 160 mV less positive than that of the unmodified carbon paste electrode (CPE). The response of catalytic current with methyldopa concentration showed a linear relation in the range from 2.0×10(-7) to 1.0×10(-4)M with a detection limit of 8.0 (± 0.2)×10(-8)M.
