Numerical investigation of chemically reacting jet flow of hybrid nanofluid under the significances of bio-active mixers and chemical reaction

Jet flows are employed in a variety of applications. It can be found in daily life as well as in agriculture, for example, jet flow assists with irrigation and harvest protection. The current problem is related to the study of energy and mass transference on the hybrid nanoliquid flow with mixed convection effect due to the vertical stretching surface conveying the cobalt ferrite CoFe2O4 and titanium dioxide TiO2 nanoparticles (NPs) with the base fluid water H2O. Further, the role of the chemical reaction, heat source/sink, and activation energy are investigated. By exploiting the idea of the modified Buongiorno model, the thermophoretic and Brownian diffusivity effects have discoursed on the existing flow behavior. The existing mathematical problem is framed with the application of the nonlinear higher-order PDEs. Higher-order PDEs of the mathematical model are changed into highly nonlinear ODEs by using the concepts of suitable similarity transformations. The modified higher-order nonlinear ODEs are cracked by manipulating the bvp4c technique in MATLAB. The impacts of the numerous physical flow parameters on the velocity, energy, and concentration are computed in graphical forms. Key findings from the present problem revealed that the velocity of the nanoliquid and hybrid nanofluid decreased due to greater nanoparticles volume fraction. Furthermore, the heat transportation is greater for mixed convection and thermophoresis parameter.

Unsteady hybrid nanofluid (Cu-UO2/blood) with chemical reaction and non-linear thermal radiation through convective boundaries: An application to bio-medicine

This study is focused on modeling and simulations of hybrid nanofluid flow. Uranium dioxide UO2 nanoparticles are hybrid with copper Cu, copper oxide CuO and aluminum oxide Al2O3 while considering blood as a base fluid. The blood flow is initially modeled considering magnetic effect, non-linear thermal radiation and chemical reactions along with convective boundaries. Then for finding solution of the obtained highly nonlinear coupled system we propose a methodology in which q-homotopy analysis method is hybrid with Galerkin and least square Optimizers. Residual errors are also computed in this study to confirm the validity of results. Analysis reveals that rate of heat transfer in arteries increases up to 13.52 Percent with an increase in volume fraction of Cu while keeping volume fraction of UO2 fixed to 1% in a base fluid (blood). This observation is in excellent agreement with experimental result. Furthermore, comparative graphical study of Cu,CuO and Al2O3 for increasing volume fraction is also performed keeping UO2 volume fraction fixed. Investigation indicates that Cu has the highest rate of heat transfer in blood when compared with CuO and Al2O3. It is also observed that thermal radiation increases the heat transfer rate in the current study. Furthermore, chemical reaction decreases rate of mass transfer in hybrid blood nanoflow. This study will help medical practitioners to minimize the adverse effects of UO2 by introducing hybrid nano particles in blood based fluids.

Scrutinization of second law analysis and viscous dissipation on Reiner-RivlinNanofluid with the effect of bioconvection over a rotating disk

In comparison to Newtonian fluids, non-Newtonian fluids have fascinating features in heat transportation. Here, newly type of Reiner-Rivlinnanoliquid flow over the revolving disk for viscous dissipation (VD) is being explored in a multiple-slip effect. The inclusion of gyrotactic microorganisms in the nanoliquid enhances the tendency of the nanoparticles. The idea of the intended model is enhanced by considering in the impact of activation energy, thermal radiative, heated convective conditions and entropy minimization. The system of nonlinear PDE is constructed into nonlinear ODE's by applying the von-Karman similarity method and later solved numerically using the BVP4c solver which is considered to study the complicated ordinary differential equations. TheInfluence of various parameters is elaborated and plotted physically through the graphical illustration. By contrasting the reported data in the restricted form to a previously published article, the accuracy of the current model has examined. The impact of a non-Newtonian fluid parameter over the velocity field appeared to showdpreciation in it. The results elucidate that when the wall slip coefficient is larger more torque is needed to maintain constant disk revaluation. Surface heat transmission and wall skin friction are computed for a wide variety of factors. These flows have several real world-applications, including modeling cases that occur in oceanography and geophysics, various industrial fields (such as lumber production).

Maxwell Nanofluids: FEM Simulation of the Effects of Suction/Injection on the Dynamics of Rotatory Fluid Subjected to Bioconvection, Lorentz, and Coriolis Forces

In this study, the relevance of Lorentz and Coriolis forces on the kinetics of gyratory Maxwell nanofluids flowing against a continually stretched surface is discussed. Gyrotactic microbes are incorporated to prevent the bioconvection of small particles and to improve consistency. The nanoparticles are considered due to their valuable properties and ability to enhance thermal dissipation, which is important in heating systems, advanced technology, microelectronics, and other areas. The main objective of the analysis is to enhance the rate of heat transfer. An adequate similarity transformation is used to convert the primary partial differential equations into non-linear dimensionless ordinary differential equations. The resulting system of equations is solved using the finite element method (FEM). The increasing effects of the Lorentz and Coriolis forces induce the velocities to moderate, whereas the concentration and temperature profiles exhibit the contrary tendency. It is observed that the size and thickness of the fluid layers in the axial position increase as the time factor increases, while the viscidity of the momentum fluid layers in the transverse path decreases as the time factor decreases. The intensity, temperature, and velocity variances for the suction scenario are more prominent than those for the injection scenario, but there is an opposite pattern for the physical quantities. The research findings are of value in areas such as elastomers, mineral productivity, paper-making, biosensors, and biofuels.

Bioconvection flow in accelerated couple stress nanoparticles with activation energy: bio-fuel applications

On the account of significance of bioconvection in biotechnology and several biological systems, valuable contributions have been performed by scientists in current decade. In current framework, a theoretical bioconvection model is constituted to examine the analyzed the thermally developed magnetized couple stress nanoparticles flow by involving narrative flow characteristics namely activation energy, chemical reaction and radiation features. The accelerated flow is organized on the periodically porous stretched configuration. The heat performances are evaluated via famous Buongiorno’s model which successfully reflects the important features of thermophoretic and Brownian motion. The composed fluid model is based on the governing equations of momentum, energy, nanoparticles concentration and motile microorganisms. The dimensionless problem has been solved analytically via homotopic procedure where the convergence of results is carefully examined. The interesting graphical description for the distribution of velocity, heat transfer of nanoparticles, concentration pattern and gyrotactic microorganism significance are presented with relevant physical significance. The variation in wall shear stress is also graphically underlined which shows an interesting periodic oscillation near the flow domain. The numerical interpretation for examining the heat mass and motile density transfer rate is presented in tubular form.

Nanofluid flow containing carbon nanotubes with quartic autocatalytic chemical reaction and Thompson and Troian slip at the boundary

A mathematical model is envisioned to discourse the impact of Thompson and Troian slip boundary in the carbon nanotubes suspended nanofluid flow near a stagnation point along an expanding/contracting surface. The water is considered as a base fluid and both types of carbon nanotubes i.e., single-wall (SWCNTs) and multi-wall (MWCNTs) are considered. The flow is taken in a Dacry-Forchheimer porous media amalgamated with quartic autocatalysis chemical reaction. Additional impacts added to the novelty of the mathematical model are the heat generation/absorption and buoyancy effect. The dimensionless variables led the envisaged mathematical model to a physical problem. The numerical solution is then found by engaging MATLAB built-in bvp4c function for non-dimensional velocity, temperature, and homogeneous-heterogeneous reactions. The validation of the proposed mathematical model is ascertained by comparing it with a published article in limiting case. An excellent consensus is accomplished in this regard. The behavior of numerous dimensionless flow variables including solid volume fraction, inertia coefficient, velocity ratio parameter, porosity parameter, slip velocity parameter, magnetic parameter, Schmidt number, and strength of homogeneous/heterogeneous reaction parameters are portrayed via graphical illustrations. Computational iterations for surface drag force are tabulated to analyze the impacts at the stretched surface. It is witnessed that the slip velocity parameter enhances the fluid stream velocity and diminishes the surface drag force. Furthermore, the concentration of the nanofluid flow is augmented for higher estimates of quartic autocatalysis chemical.

Magnetic Rotating Flow of a Hybrid Nano-Materials Ag-MoS2 and Go-MoS2 in C2H6O2-H2O Hybrid Base Fluid over an Extending Surface Involving Activation Energy: FE Simulation

Numeric simulations are performed for a comparative study of magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) rotational flow of hybrid nanofluids (MoS2-Ag/ethyleneglycol-water (50–50%) and MoS2-Go/ethyleneglycol-water (50–50%)) over a horizontally elongated plane sheet. The principal objective is concerned with the enhancement of thermal transportation. The three-dimensional formulation governing the conservation of mass, momentum, energy, and concentration is transmuted into two-dimensional partial differentiation by employing similarity transforms. The resulting set of equations (PDEs) is then solved by variational finite element procedure coded in Matlab script. An intensive computational run is carried out for suitable ranges of the particular quantities of influence. The primary velocity component decreases monotonically and the magnitude of secondary velocity component diminishes significantly when magnetic parameter, rotational parameter, and unsteadiness parameter are incremented. Both the primary and secondary velocities are smaller in values for the hybrid phase Ag-MoS2 than that of hybrid phase Go-MoS2 but the nanoparticle concentration and temperature are higher for hybrid phase Ag-MoS2. The increased values of parameters for thermophoresis, Brownian motion, shape factor, and volume fraction of ϕ2 made significant improvement in the temperature of the two phases of nano liquids. Results are also computed for the coefficients of skin friction(x, y-directions), Nusselt number, and Sherwood number. The present findings manifest reasonable comparison to their existing counterparts. Some of the practical engineering applications of the present analysis may be found in high-temperature nanomaterial processing technology, crystal growing, extrusion processes, manufacturing and rolling of polymer sheets, academic research, lubrication processes, and polymer industry.
