Assessment of cloud vendors using interval‐valued probabilistic linguistic information and unknown weights

A hybrid DEMATEL-COPRAS method using interval-valued probabilistic linguistic term set for sustainable hydrogen fuel cell supplier of new energy vehicles

With the continuous development of the global economy, global environmental pollution, climate degradation and global warming are becoming increasingly serious. In order to deal with the increasingly serious environmental problems, the government is vigorously supporting and promoting the development of new energy vehicles (NEVs). As the core unit of NEVs, one of the main challenges faced by hydrogen fuel cell (HFC) supplier is to select the best supplier for their business among all possible suppliers. Selecting the optimal supplier is a key decision in green supplier management. Therefore, it is extremely important and meaningful to select an optimal HFC supplier to provide power for NEVs. This paper proposes a new decision-making framework based on Decision-Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) method and Complex proportional assessment (COPRAS) method under interval-valued probabilistic linguistic environment to select the appropriate HFC supplier of NEVs. Firstly, this paper establishes the evaluation criteria system of HFC supplier assessment which is the synthesis of economical, environmental, social, technical, organisation and service aspects. Then, in order to express the uncertainty of expert decision-making, this paper uses interval-valued probabilistic linguistic term set (IVPLTS) to describe the evaluation information. Next, the interval-valued probabilistic linguistic term set decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory (IVPLTS-DEMATEL) method is applied to calculate the criteria weights. Moreover, this paper constructs the interval-valued probabilistic linguistic term set Complex Proportional Assessment (IVPLTS-COPRAS) model for the selection of HFC supplier of NEVs. Finally, a case in China with sensitivity analysis and comparison analysis are executed to illustrate the feasibility and validity of the proposed approach. This paper provides valuable references for investors and companies to select the most appropriate HFC supplier of NEVs under uncertain environment.

Prioritization of healthcare systems during pandemics using Cronbach's measure based fuzzy WASPAS approach

Pandemics are well-known as epidemics that spread globally and cause many illnesses and mortality. Because of globalization, the accelerated occurrence and circulation of new microbes, the infection has emerged and the incidence and movement of new microbes have sped up. Using technological devices to minimize the visit durations, specifying days for handling chronic diseases, subsidy for the staff are the alternatives that can help prevent healthcare systems from collapsing during pandemics. The study aims to define the efficient usage of optimization tools during pandemics to prevent healthcare systems from collapsing. In this study, a new integrated framework with fuzzy information is developed, which attempts to prioritize these alternatives for policymakers. First, rating data are assigned respective fuzzy values using the standard singleton grades. Later, criteria weights are determined by extending Cronbach´s measure to fuzzy context. The measure not only understands data consistency comprehensively, but also takes into consideration the attitudinal characteristics of experts. By this approach, a rational weight vector is obtained for decision-making. Further, an improved Weighted Aggregated Sum Product Assessment (WASPAS) algorithm is put forward for ranking alternatives, which is flexibly considering criteria along with personalized ordering and holistic ordering alternatives. The usefulness of the developed framework is tested with the help of a real case study. Rank values of alternatives when unbiased weights are used is given by 0.741, 0.582, 0.640 with ordering asR 1 ≻ R 3 ≻ R 2 . The sensitivity/comparative analysis reveals the impact of the proposed model as useful in selecting the best alternative for the healthcare systems during pandemics.

Cloud vendor selection for the healthcare industry using a big data-driven decision model with probabilistic linguistic information

The role of cloud services in the data-intensive industry is indispensable. Cision recently reported that the cloud market would grow to 55 billion USD, with an active contribution of the cloud to healthcare around 2025. Inspired by the report, cloud vendors expand their market and the quality of services to seek growth globally. The rapid growth of the cloud sector in the healthcare industry imposes a challenge: making a rational choice of a cloud vendor (CV) out of a diverse set of vendors. Typically, the healthcare industry 4.0 sees the issue as a large-scale group decision-making problem. Previous studies on a CV selection face certain challenges, such as (i) a lack of the ability to handle multiple users' views, as well as experts'/users' complex linguistic views; (ii) the confidence level associated with a view is not considered; (iii) the transformation of multiple users' views into holistic data is lacking; and (iv) the systematic prioritization of CVs with minimum human intervention is a crucial task. Motivated by these challenges and circumventing them, a new big data-driven decision model is put forward in this paper. Initially, the data in the form of complex expressions are collected from multiple cloud users and are further transformed into a holistic decision matrix by adopting probabilistic linguistic information (PLI). PLI represents complex linguistic expressions along with the associated confidence levels. Later, a holistic decision matrix is formed with the missing values imputed by proposing an imputation algorithm. Furthermore, the criteria weights are determined by using a newly proposed mathematical model and partial information. Finally, the evaluation based on the distance from average solution (EDAS) approach is extended to PLI for the rational ranking of CVs. A real-time example of a CV selection for a healthcare center in India is exemplified so as to demonstrate the usefulness of the model, and the comparison reveals the merits and limitations of the model.

An Integrated Variance-COPRAS Approach with Nonlinear Fuzzy Data for Ranking Barriers Affecting Sustainable Operations

Sustainability is becoming the core theme of every organization to protect the planet from the drastic effects of climate change. Many organizations have drastically changed their practices to encourage green habits for sustainable operations. Practitioners have discussed the difficulties in the literature owing to the adoption of sustainable aspects of environmental, economic and social paradigms in the organization. One can identify diverse barriers, and ranking them would help policy-makers plan their actions. Motivated by this claim, a new integrated approach with nonlinear fuzzy data is put forward in this paper. The nonlinear mapping of fuzzy data provides a better representation of uncertainty, which inspired the authors to use nonlinear data. Further, the attitudinal variance method is proposed for a weight assessment of the criteria that can handle hesitation effectively and consider each agent’s reliability. The Boran principle in the nonlinear context is used to calculate the reliability values. Complex proportional assessment (COPRAS), a popular ranking algorithm, is extended to nonlinear data for rationally ranking barriers that affect sustainable operations. An illustrative example exemplifies the usability of the approach, and a comparison/sensitivity analysis reveals the pros and cons of the framework.
