Abstract
A general and efficient method for the direct synthesis of benzothiazoles and benzoxazoles from carboxylic acids with 2-aminobenzenethiols or 2-aminophenols using (o-CF3PhO)3P as a simple coupling reagent has been developed. Diverse benzothiazoles and benzoxazoles were synthesized in moderate to excellent yields. And the gram-scale preparation of benzothiazole and benzoxazole also proceeded smoothly under the mild conditions. Moreover, a plausible reaction mechanism was discussed, with (o-CF3PhO)3P and its hydrolysis product (o-CF3PhO)2P(O)H contributing to the formation of the target products as an amide synthesis coupling agent and a cyclization reaction promoter, respectively.

Abstract
The nanoconfinement effect plays an important role in chemical reactions. Inspired by enzymes, this work presents a new way to conduct the rapid flow synthesis of benzothiazoles in the two-dimensional (2D) nanoconfined space created by a graphene oxide membrane. The conversion reaches 96.7% in a short reaction time of less than 23 s at 22 °C.

Abstract
This review article provides an overview of the green synthesis of thiazole derivatives, emphasizing sustainable and environmentally friendly methodologies. Thiazole derivatives possess significant value and find diverse applications across various fields. However, conventional synthesis methods often involve hazardous reagents and generate substantial waste, posing environmental concerns. The green synthesis of thiazole derivatives employs renewable starting materials, nontoxic catalysts, and mild reaction conditions to minimize environmental impact. Innovative techniques such as microwave irradiation, ultrasound synthesis, green solvents, a green catalyst-based approach, and mechanochemistry-mediated synthesis are employed, offering advantages in terms of scalability, cost-effectiveness, and purification simplicity. The resulting thiazole derivatives exhibit comparable or enhanced biological activities, showcasing the feasibility and practicality of green synthesis in drug discovery. This review paper underscores the importance of sustainable approaches in functional molecular synthesis and encourages further research in this domain.

Abstract
We describe the development of Lewis acid (LA) catalyst-impregnated 3D-printed stirrer devices and demonstrate their ability to facilitate the rapid screening of reaction conditions to synthesize heterocycles. The stereolithography 3D-printed stirrer devices were designed to fit round-bottomed flasks and Radleys carousel tubes using our recently reported solvent-resistant resin, and using CFD modeling studies and experimental data, we demonstrated that the device design leads to rapid mixing and rapid throughput over the device surface. Using a range of LA 3D-printed stirrers, the reaction between a diamine and an aldehyde was optimized for the catalyst and solvent, and we demonstrated that use of the 3D-printed catalyst-embedded devices led to higher yields and reduced reaction times. A library of benzimidazole and benzothiazole compounds were synthesized, and the use of devices led to efficient formation of the product as well as low levels of the catalyst in the resultant crude mixture. The use of these devices makes the process of setting up multiple reactions simpler by avoiding weighing out of catalysts, and the devices, once used, can be simply removed from the reaction, making the process of compound library synthesis more facile.

Abstract
Herein, an NHC (N-heterocyclic carbene)-catalyzed radical coupling reaction between aldehydes and azobis(isobutyronitrile) (AIBN) has been developed. This method provides an efficient and convenient approach for the synthesis of β-ketonitriles containing a quaternary carbon center (31 examples, up to >99% yield) utilizing commercially available substrates. This protocol features broad substrate scope, good functional group tolerance, and high efficiency under metal-free and mild reaction conditions.

Abstract
Sixteen compounds bearing a benzothiazole moiety were synthesized as potential tyrosinase inhibitors and evaluated for mushroom tyrosinase inhibitory activity. The compound 4-(5-(trifluoromethyl)benzo[d]thiazol-2-yl)benzene-1,3-diol (compound 1b) exhibited the highest tyrosinase activity inhibition, with an IC50 value of 0.2 ± 0.01 μM (a potency 55-fold greater than kojic acid). In silico results using mushroom tyrosinase and human tyrosinase showed that the 2,4-hydroxyl substituents on the phenyl ring of 1b played an important role in the inhibition of both tyrosinases. Kinetic studies on mushroom tyrosinase indicated that 1b is a competitive inhibitor of monophenolase and diphenolase, and this was supported by docking results. In B16F10 murine melanoma cells, 1a and 1b dose-dependently and significantly inhibited melanin production intracellularly, and melanin release into medium more strongly than kojic acid, and these effects were attributed to the inhibition of cellular tyrosinase. Furthermore, the inhibition of melanin production by 1b was found to be partially due to the inhibition of tyrosinase glycosylation and the suppression of melanogenesis-associated genes. Compound 1c, which has a catechol group, exhibited potent antioxidant activities against ROS, DPPH, and ABTS, and 1b also had strong ROS and ABTS radical scavenging activities. These results suggest that 5-(trifluoromethyl)benzothiazole derivatives are promising anti-tyrosinase lead compounds with potent antioxidant effects.

Abstract
N-Phenyl-4-(6-phenylimidazo[2,1-b]thiazol-5-yl)thiazol-2-amines (6a-q) have been synthesized by the Hantzsch thiazole reaction of 2-chloro-1-(6-phenylimidazo[2,1-b]thiazol-5-yl)ethanones (4a-e) with suitably substituted thioureas using microwave heating. The ethanones (4a-e) were prepared by the reaction of 6-phenylimidazo[2,1-b]thiazoles (3a-e) with chloroacetylchloride in refluxing 1,4-dioxane whereas the thiazoles (3a-e) were synthesized by the reaction of 2-bromo-1-phenylethanones (2a-e) with thiazol-2-amine in refluxing acetone.
