Abstract
The uptake, translocation, and accumulation of mefentrifluconazole (MFZ), an innovative chiral triazole fungicide, in plants at the enantiomeric level are still unclear. Herein, we investigated the patterns and mechanisms of enantiomeric uptake, bioaccumulation, and translocation through several experiments. Rac-MFZ shows the strongest uptake and bioaccumulation capacity in wheat compared with its enantiomers, while S-(+)-MFZ has the highest translocation potential. Molecular docking provided evidence of the stronger translocation ability of S-(+)-MFZ than R-(-)-MFZ. Split-root experiments showed that MFZ and its enantiomers could undergo long-distance transport within the wheat. Active transport or facilitated and simple diffusion may be involved in the wheat uptake of MFZ. The limited acropetal translocation capability of MFZ may be attributed to the dominant uptake pathway of apoplastic. The concentrations of Rac-MFZ in different subcellular fractions varied greatly. In summary, this study provides novel insights for further understanding the behaviors of MFZ and its enantiomers in plants.

Abstract
This study aimed to explore the effects of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens GSBa-1 treatment on anthracnose disease resistance and the metabolism of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and phenylpropanoids in mangoes during storage. Mangoes were soaked in a solution containing 1 × 108 CFU/mL of B. amyloliquefaciens GSBa-1. The anthracnose disease incidence, disease index, respiration intensity, ethylene release, reactive oxygen species content, and the activities of related metabolic enzymes, phenylpropanoid-related metabolic enzymes, and phenolic acids in the skin and pulp of mangoes were investigated under normal temperature storage conditions. The results showed that the antagonistic bacterial treatment (ABT) did not significantly inhibit the growth of Colletotrichum gloeosporioides in vitro. However, it significantly reduced the incidence of mango anthracnose disease when applied to the mango peel. ABT enhanced the latent resistance of mango to anthracnose disease by activating its reactive oxygen and phenylpropanoid metabolism. It maintained higher levels of ROS production and elimination in the peel. Moreover, it rapidly activated manganese superoxide dismutase, induced the accumulation of H2O2, and enhanced the activity of manganese superoxide dismutase, catalase, ascorbate peroxidase, and peroxidase in the mango peel. Furthermore, ABT activated phenylalanine ammonia-lyase, cinnamic acid-4-hydroxylase, 4-coumaroyl-CoA ligase, and cinnamyl alcohol dehydrogenase in the mango peel and pulp, promoting the accumulation of antifungal phenolic acids such as gallic acid, catechins, and ellagic acid. Bacillus amyloliquefaciens GSBa-1 may be a potent inhibitor of mango anthracnose, primarily enhancing the resistance of mangoes to anthracnose by synergistically activating ROS in the peel and phenylpropanoid metabolism in the pulp, thereby reducing the incidence of anthracnose effectively.

Abstract
Pyraclostrobin, a widely used fungicide, poses significant risks to both the environment and human health. However, research on the microbial degradation process of pyraclostrobin was scarce. Here, a pyraclostrobin-degrading strain, identified as Burkholderia sp. Pyr-1, was isolated from activated sludge. Pyraclostrobin was efficiently degraded by strain Pyr-1, and completely eliminated within 6 d in the presence of glucose. Additionally, pyraclostrobin degradation was significantly enhanced by the addition of divalent metal cations (Mn2+ and Cu2+). The degradation pathway involving ether bond and N-O bond cleavage was proposed by metabolite identification. The sodium alginate-immobilized strain Pyr-1 had a higher pyraclostrobin removal rate from contaminated lake water than the free cells. Moreover, the toxicity evaluation demonstrated that the metabolite 1-(4-chlorophenyl)-1H-pyrazol-3-ol significantly more effectively inhibited Chlorella ellipsoidea than pyraclostrobin, while its degradation products by strain Pyr-1 alleviated the growth inhibition of C. ellipsoidea, which confirmed that the low-toxic metabolites were generated from pyraclostrobin by strain Pyr-1. The study provides a potential strain Pyr-1 for the bioremediation in pyraclostrobin-contaminated aquatic environments.

Abstract
Plant diseases caused by pathogenic fungi or oomycetes seriously affect crop growth and the quality and yield of products. A series of novel 1,2,4-triazole derivatives containing carboxamide fragments based on amide fragments widely used in fungicides and the commercialized mefentrifluconazole were designed and synthesized. Their antifungal activities were evaluated against seven kinds of phytopathogenic fungi/oomycete. Results showed that most compounds had similar or better antifungal activities compared to mefentrifluconazole's inhibitory activity against Physalospora piricola, especially compound 6h (92%), which possessed outstanding activity. Compound 6h (EC50 = 13.095 μg/mL) showed a better effect than that of mefentrifluconazole (EC50 = 39.516 μg/mL). Compound 5j (90%) displayed outstanding anti-oomycete activity against Phytophthora capsici, with an EC50 value of 17.362 μg/mL, far superior to that of mefentrifluconazole (EC50 = 75.433 μg/mL). The result of molecular docking showed that compounds 5j and 6h possessed a stronger affinity for 14α-demethylase (CYP51). This study provides a new approach to expanding the fungicidal spectrum of 1,2,4-triazole derivatives.

Abstract
Fresh produce have a more limited shelf life than processed ones. Their sensory attributes such as appearance and surface texture are important features in consumer perception and liking. The decomposition of fresh produce, which is caused by enzymes, chemical reactions, and microbial infections, often caused by Colletotrichum species, is inevitable. However, it can be slowed down. Several materials have been developed for this purpose, with an emphasis on active coatings using nanomaterials. In this study, the protective effects of a zein coating containing chitosan nanowhiskers (CSW) for the maintenance of fruit quality were investigated using guava (Psidium guajava L.) as a model fruit. CSW were previously characterized, and their antifungal effects against distinct Colletotrichum species (Colletotrichum asianum, Colletotrichum tropicale, Colletotrichum gloeosporioides, and Colletotrichum brevisporum) were proven. Coatings were characterized by thermogravimetric analysis, optical profilometry, and mechanical properties. Total soluble solids, pH, mass loss, and visual inspection of uncoated and coated guava fruits were also verified during 9 days. Results show that CSW length and aspect ratio decreased for longer extraction times. A similar behavior was found for x-ray diffraction in which peak intensity decreases under the same conditions. CSW degradation (ca. 250-400°C) also depends on extraction time in which more crystalline whiskers are the most thermally stable ones. The addition of CSW did not significantly (p < 0.05) modify the homogeneity and continuity of coating but prevented microbial growth assuring fruit quality during storage. In summary, coatings protected guava fruits from post-harvest spoilage while preserving quality and extending shelf life. PRACTICAL APPLICATION: Fresh foods such as fruits and vegetables have a more limited shelf life than processed ones.
