Abstract
Background: The thymus gland is a lymphoid organ normally located in the anterior mediastinum. Location abnormalities of the thymus, such as ectopic thymus or the superior herniation of a mediastinal thymus, could be responsible for the occurrence of cervical masses in pediatric patients, raising concerns among clinicians. The knowledge of these conditions is essential for a thorough differential diagnosis and for preventing unnecessary invasive procedures. Methods: Descriptive retrospective series of three patients with a cervical mass, that was later diagnosed as ectopic thymic tissue. Results: The thymus has a unique and distinctive ultrasound appearance that is the keystone to detecting thymic parenchyma in locations other than anterior mediastinum. In selected patients, an accurate ultrasound could be conclusive for the diagnosis, with no need for further and potentially risky procedures. Conclusions: This case series supports the use of ultrasound in both diagnosis and follow-up of thymus location abnormalities, advocating a minimal invasive and conservative approach.

Abstract
Palpable tumors in children are a common reason for consulting a radiologist. This series of two articles aims to review the clinical and radiological characteristics of a selection of palpable tumors in children that radiologists need to be familiar with.

Abstract
True thymic hyperplasia results from stressful situations such as chemotherapy. It commonly presents as an anterior mediastinal mass; cervical location is exceptional. Here we report a case of a cervical true thymic hyperplasia in a 12-year-old girl who had a Hodgkin lymphoma treated by radiotherapy and chemotherapy. She was referred to our department for a left cervical mass. The PET scan showed a hypermetabolic adenopathy. Mediastinal MRI was unremarkable. The patient underwent resection of the cervical mass under general anesthesia. Pathological examination confirmed the diagnosis of a true thymic hyperplasia. The aim of this paper is to illustrate a case of an incidental ectopic cervical thymic hyperplasia in a patient treated for Hodgkin lymphoma.

Abstract
Ectopic cervical thymus (ECT) is a rare pediatric pathology usually with an asymptomatic course. In fewer cases, the patient may present with dyspnea, hoarseness, stridor, dysphagia and pain. The mass may present in cystic or solid forms. Solid forms are rare, constituting only 10% of all ECT cases and these are mostly symptomatic. We aimed to present the case of an infant with ECT in the submandibular region that led to shortness of breath. ECTs in the submandibular region are mostly solid and larger in size, and therefore, likely to result in compressive symptoms. In this case report, we tried to cover the important aspects of the diagnosis of ECT, its treatment, and discussed the results with a literature review. We additionally aimed to emphasize the importance of considering pediatric ECT in the differential diagnosis of pediatric neck mass as well as considering surgical excision to prevent serious consequences.

Abstract
Ectopic thymic tissue is an unusual finding that is generally asymptomatic. We present a case series of five pediatric patients with cervical ectopic thymuses. In two patients, the ectopic thymic tissue was symptomatic, and in three patients, it was an incidental finding. We highlight the need to include this anomaly in the differential diagnosis for a pediatric neck mass. We also propose observation, rather than surgical excision, as the treatment of choice for asymptomatic cervical ectopic thymus.
