Abstract
Spectral-luminescence properties of 23 samples of zirconium complexes were studied. Mechanoluminescence spectra of 10 complexes were obtained. The solid-state component of the mechanoluminescence spectrum, that is the luminescence of the crystal itself, coincided with the photoluminescence spectra of these complexes, which indicated identical emission from the same excited states in mechanoluminescence and photoluminescence, despite the different ways of excitation. The luminescence maximum was red shifted as substituents appeared in the ligand, in particular in the presence of a bridging group connecting π-ligands (ansa-complexes) and also for a substituted bis-indenyl complex rac-Me2 Si(2-Me-4-Ph-5-OMe-6-But -Ind)2 ZrCl2 ). It was found that mechanical destruction of the rac-isomer of complex Mе2 С(2-Me-4-But -C5 H2 )2 ZrCl2 , unlike that of the meso-isomer, was accompanied by a more than a 10-fold increase in intensity and by a shift in the mechanoluminescence spectrum to longer wavelengths.

Fair Look at Coordination Oligomerization of Higher α-Olefins. Polymers (Basel) 2020; 12:polym12051082. Abstract
Coordination catalysis is a highly efficient alternative to more traditional acid catalysis in the oligomerization of α-olefins. The distinct advantage of transition metal-based catalysts is the structural homogeneity of the oligomers. Given the great diversity of the catalysts and option of varying the reaction conditions, a wide spectrum of processes can be implemented. In recent years, both methylenealkanes (vinylidene dimers of α-olefins) and structurally uniform oligomers with the desired degrees of polymerization have become available for later use in the synthesis of amphiphilic organic compounds and polymers, high-quality oils or lubricants, and other prospective materials. In the present review, we discussed the selective dimerization and oligomerization of α-olefins, catalyzed by metallocene and post-metallocene complexes, and explored the prospects for the further applications of the coordination α-olefin dimers and oligomers.

Abstract
Cyclopentadienides of d- and f-elements are highly important complexes with undoubted potential for practical applications. Annelation of a heterocyclic fragment with an η5-ring results in substantial improvement of the catalytic properties of these compounds, called "heterocenes"; the investigation of metal coordination with these specific ligands is a highly important problem. We prepared potassium derivatives 5-8 of heterocycle-annelated cyclopentadienes with different structures - derivatives of cyclopenta[1,2-b:4,3-b']dithiophene (1), indeno[2,1-b]indole (2), indeno[1,2-b]indole (3), and indeno[1,2-b]indolizine (4) and studied the crystal and molecular structures of these salts by X-ray diffraction. We found that heterocycle-fused cyclopentadienides demonstrate remarkable diversity in metal-ligand coordination modes and crystal packing, with formation of two-dimensional polymeric (5), linear polymeric (6), tetrameric (7) and monomeric (8) structures. The NMR spectral data and results of DFT modeling indicate an increase in electron density in the cyclopentadienyl fragment, and this effect was found to be larger in the derivative of the new indolizine ligand precursor 4. The results of our study will be used in the design of next-generation catalysts of α-olefin polymerization.

Abstract
The development of a highly oriented fiber morphology by effect of tensile deformation of stereodefective isotactic polypropylene (iPP) samples, starting from the unoriented γ form, is studied by following the transformation in real time during stretching through wide angle X-ray scattering (WAXS) measurements. In the stretching process, after yielding, the initial γ form transforms into the mesomorphic form of iPP through mechanical melting and re-crystallization. The analysis of the scattering invariant measured in the WAXS region highlights that the size of the mesomorphic domains included in the well oriented fiber morphology obtained at high deformations increases through a process which involves the coalescence of the small fragments formed by effect of tensile stress during lamellar destruction with the domain of higher dimensions.

Abstract
AbstractThis paper describes our recent results in the field of zirconocene-catalyzed α-oltfin transformations, and focuses on questions regarding the reaction mechanism, rational design of zirconocene pre-catalysts, as well as prospective uses of α-olefin products. It has been determined that a wide range of α-olefin-based products, namely vinylidene dimers, oligomers and polymers, can be prepared via catalysis by zirconocene dichlorides, activated by a minimal (10–20 eq.) amount of MAO. We assumed that in the presence of minimal quantities of MAO, various types of zirconocene catalysts form different types of catalytic particles. In the case of bis-cyclopentadienyl complexes, the reactive center is formed under the influence of R2AlCl, which makes the chain termination via β-hydride elimination significantly easier, with α-olefin dimers being formed as the primary product. Bis-indenyl complexes and their heteroanalogues, form stable cationic catalytic particles and effectively catalyze the polymerization. Mono-indenyl and mono-substituted bis-cyclopentadienyl-ansa complexes catalyze α-olefin oligomerization. Effective catalysts of dimerization, oligomerization and polymerization of α-olefins in the presence of minimal MAO quantities are proposed. Prospects of using α-olefin dimers, oligomers and polymers in the synthesis of branched hydrocarbon functional derivatives (dimers), high quality, low viscosity motor oils (oligomers), and thickeners and absorbents (polymers) are examined.

Abstract
Directed ortho-lithiation of the lithium carbamates generated from tetrahydroquinoline or tetrahydroquinaldine enables one-step preparation of thiophene-fused and tetrahydroquinoline-linked cyclopentadienes [2-R(1)-3-R(2)-4,5-dimethyl-6-(2-R(3)-2,3,4,5-tetrahydroquinolin-8-yl)-4H-cyclopenta[b]thiophene (R(1), R(2), R(3) = H or methyl)], from which titanium(iv) and zirconium(iv) complexes are prepared. The molecular structures of Me(2)Ti-complexes (12, R(1) = R(2) = Me, R(3) = H; 14, R(1) = R(2) = R(3) = Me) and Cl(2)Zr-complex (17, R(1) = R(2) = Me, R(3) = H) are determined by X-ray crystallography. The Me(2)Ti-complexes, 14 and 15 (R(1) = R(3) = Me, R(2) = H) show excellent activities (62 and 54 × 10(6) g/molTi·h) in ethylene/1-octene copolymerization, even when activated with small amount of MAO (Al/Ti = 1000).

Abstract
A series of MAO-activated C(1)-symmetric indenyl-ansa-dithienocyclopentadienyl-based zirconocenes have been used to produce isotactic polypropylenes of medium to high molecular weights, of different degrees of stereoregularity, and free from regioerrors. The effect of the presence of rr defects on the polymorphic behavior and mechanical properties of polypropylene is analyzed. The presence of rr defects induces crystallization of gamma form and of disordered modifications intermediate between alpha and gamma forms. A linear relationship between the amount of gamma form and the average length of isotactic sequences has been found. Samples with low concentration of rr defects, up to 3-4%, present high melting temperatures, in the range 160-130 degrees C, and behave as stiff-plastic materials; sample with higher rr content, in the range 4-6% and melting temperatures around 115-120 degrees C are highly flexible thermoplastic materials, and, finally, samples with concentration of rr defects in the range 7-11% and melting temperatures in the range 80-110 degrees C are thermoplastic elastomers with high strength. The fine-tuning of the chain microstructure, achieved by a tailored design of new metallocene catalysts, has allowed production of new polypropylenes having desired properties, intermediate between those of stiff plastic and elastomeric materials.
