Abstract
In this manuscript we present a versatile platform for introducing functional redox species into tailor‐made 3D redox polymer networks. Electrochemical characterization based on cyclic voltammetry is applied to verify the immobilization of the redox species within the conducting networks. Ultimately this strategy shall be extended to (photo)electrocatalytic applications which will profit from the conducting polymer matrix. Soluble precursor copolymers are synthesized via radical copolymerization of vinyltriphenylamine (VTPA) with chloromethylstyrene (CMS) in different ratios, whereas CMS is subsequently converted into azidomethylstyrene (AMS) to yield poly(VTPA‐co‐AMS) copolymers. Spin‐coating of poly(VTPA‐co‐AMS) on gold electrodes yields thin films which are converted into stable polymer network structures by electrochemical crosslinking of the polymer chains via their pendant triphenylamine groups to yield N,N,N′,N′‐tetraphenylbenzidine (TPB) crosslinking points. Finally, the resulting redox‐active, TPB‐crosslinked films are functionalized with ethynylferrocene (EFc) as a representative redox probe using a click reaction. Main experimental tools are polarization modulation infrared reflection absorption spectroscopy and scan rate dependent cyclic voltammetry. Especially the latter proves the successful conversion and the immobilization of redox probes in the polymer matrix. The results are compared with the reference system of azide‐terminated self‐assembled monolayers on gold substrates, allowing to distinguish between free and immobilized EFc species.

Preparation and Characterization of Montmorillonite/PEDOT-PSS and Diatomite/PEDOT-PSS Hybrid Materials. Study of Electrochemical Properties in Acid Medium. JOURNAL OF COMPOSITES SCIENCE 2020. Abstract
The hybridization of clay minerals with conducting polymers receives great interest for different potential applications, including environmental remediation. This work studies and compares the electrochemical properties of two different clays, montmorillonite (Mont) and diatomite (Diat), and their respective clay/PEDOT-PSS hybrid materials in H2SO4 medium. The hybrid materials were prepared by electropolymerization of EDOT in the presence of PSS. The physico-chemical and electrochemical properties of both clays were analyzed by different techniques, and the influence of the clay properties on electropolymerization and the electroactivity of the resulting clay/PEDOT-PSS hybrids was investigated. Specifically, the Fe2+/Fe3+ redox probe and the oxidation of diclofenac, as a model pharmaceutical emerging pollutant, were used to test the electron transfer capability and oxidative response, respectively, of the clay/PEDOT-PSS hybrids. The results demonstrate that, despite its low electrical conductivity, the Mont is an electroactive material itself with good electron-transfer capability. Conversely, the Diat shows no electroactivity. The hybridization with PEDOT generally enhances the electroactivity of the clays, but the clay properties affect the electropolymerization efficiency and hybrids electroactivity, so the Mont/PEDOT displays improved electrochemical properties. It is demonstrated that clay/PEDOT-PSS hybrids exhibit diclofenac oxidation capability and diclofenac concentration sensitivity.

Abstract
Nowadays, tissue and organ failures resulted from injury, aging accounts, diseases or other type of damages is one of the most important health problems with an increasing incidence worldwide. Current treatments have limitations including, low graft efficiency, shortage of donor organs, as well as immunological problems. In this context, tissue engineering (TE) was introduced as a novel and versatile approach for restoring tissue/organ function using living cells, scaffold and bioactive (macro-)molecules. Among these, scaffold as a three-dimensional (3D) support material, provide physical and chemical cues for seeding cells and has an essential role in cell missions. Among the wide verity of scaffolding materials, natural or synthetic biopolymers are the most commonly biomaterials mainly due to their unique physicochemical and biological features. In this context, naturally occurring biological macromolecules are particular of interest owing to their low immunogenicity, excellent biocompatibility and cytocompatibility, as well as antigenicity that qualified them as popular choices for scaffolding applications. In this review, we highlighted the potentials of natural and synthetic polymers as scaffolding materials. The properties, advantages, and disadvantages of both polymer types as well as the current status, challenges, and recent progresses regarding the application of them as scaffolding biomaterials are also discussed.

Abstract
A novel electrically conductive scaffold containing hyperbranched aliphatic polyester (HAP), polythiophene (PTh), and poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL) for regenerative medicine application was succesfully fabricated via electrospinning technique. For this purpose, the HAP (G4; fourth generation) was synthesized via melt polycondensation reaction from tris(methylol)propane and 2,2-bis(methylol)propionic acid (bis-MPA). Afterward, the synthesized HAP was functionalized with 2-thiopheneacetic acid in the presence of N,N-dicyclohexyl carbodiimide, and N-hydroxysuccinimide as coupling agent and catalyst, respectively, to afford a thiophene-functionalized G4 macromonomer. This macromonomer was subsequently used in chemical oxidation copolymerization with thiophene monomer to produce a star-shaped PTh with G4 core (G4-PTh). The solution of the G4-PTh, and PCL was electrospun to produce uniform, conductive, and biocompatible nanofibers. The conductivity, hydrophilicity, and mechanical properties of these nanofibers were investigated. The biocompatibility of the electrospun nanofibers were evaluated by assessing the adhesion and proliferation of mouse osteoblast MC3T3-E1 cell line and in vitro degradability to demonstrate their potential uses as a tissue engineering scaffold. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
