Abstract
The tractable preparation of Phase I drug metabolites is a critical step to understand the first-pass behaviour of novel chemical entities (NCEs) in drug discovery. In this study, we have developed a structure-electroactivity relationship (SeAR)-informed electrochemical reaction of the parent 2-chlorophenothiazine and the antipsychotic medication, chlorpromazine. With the ability to dial-in under current controlled conditions, the formation of S-oxide and novel S,S-dioxide metabolites has been achieved for the first time on a multi-milligram scale using a direct batch electrode platform. A potential rationale for the electrochemical formation of these metabolites in situ is proposed using molecular docking to a cytochrome P450 enzyme.

Abstract
A phenothiazine-rhodamine (PTRH) fluorescent dyad was synthesized and its ability to selectively sense Zn2+ ions in solution and in in vitro cell lines was tested using various techniques. When compared with other competing metal ions, the PTRH probe showed the high selectivity for Zn2+ ions that was supported by electronic and emission spectral analyses. The emission band at 528 nm for the PTRH probe indicated the ring closed form of PTRH, as for Zn2+ ion binding to PTRH, the λem get shift to 608 nm was accompanied by a pale yellow to pink colour (under visible light) and green to pinkish red fluorescence emission (under UV light) due to ring opening of the spirolactam moiety in the PTRH ligand. Spectral overlap of the donor emission band and the absorption band of the ring opened form of the acceptor moiety contributed towards the fluorescence resonance energy transfer ON mechanism for Zn2+ ion detection. The PTRH sensor had the lowest detection limit for Zn2+ , found to be 2.89 × 10-8 M. The sensor also demonstrated good sensing application with minimum toxicity for in vitro analyses using HeLa cells.

Abstract
Two new π-conjugated polymers (Poly[(N-10’-(octan-3-yl)-phenothiazin-3,7-ylene)-alt- (4’,7’-bis(thiophen-2-yl)benzo[c][1,2,5]thiadiazole)] (PoPTZ-BT-BTD), Poly[(N-10`-(octan-3-yl) -phenothiazin-3,7-ylene)-alt-(4’,7’-bis(thiophen-2-yl)-5,6-bis(octyloxy)benzo[c][1,2,5]thiadiazole)] (PoPTZ-BT-BoBTD) ) were synthesized through the Suzuki coupling reaction for organic photovoltaics (OPVs), and their optical and electrochemical properties were analyzed. Their wavelength of maximun absorption was 526 nm and 506 nm in solution state, repectively, and 560 nm and 522 nm in film state, respectively. Their band-gap energy was 2.01 eV and 2.09 eV in solution state, and 1.82 eV and 1.91 eV in film state, respectively. The results of analysis of the chrateristics of photovoltaics, 0.79 % and 0.99 % of the maximum power conversion efficiencies (PCE), repectively.
