Abstract
With the development of polymer science, more and more named reactions have been applied to synthesizing polymers. Introducing new reactions into polymer synthesis is undoubtedly an excellent expansion for monomer and polymer libraries. In this review, the named reactions employed in polymer-chain synthesis were divided into seven types: electrophilic reactions, nucleophilic reactions, transition metal-mediated cross-coupling reactions, free radical reactions, pericyclic reactions, multi-component reactions and rearrangement reactions. The discussion was mainly focused on the progress in the utilization of these named reactions in polymer synthesis, which could be a valuable reference for researchers in the polymer field.

Abstract
Ab initio treatments of interexcited state internal conversion (IC) are more often than not missing from exciton dynamic descriptions, because of their inherent complexity. Here, we define "interexcited state IC" as a same-spin nonradiative transition between states i and j, where i ≠ j ≠ 0. Competing directly with multiexciton processes such as singlet fission or triplet photoupconversion, inclusion of this mechanism in the narrative of molecular photophysics would allow for strategic synthesis of chromophores for more efficient photon-harvesting applications. Herein, we present a robust formalism which can model these rates using density functional theory (DFT)-based methods within the Franck-Condon and Herzberg-Teller regime. Using an unsubstituted diketo-pyrrolopyrrole (DPP) core as a case study, we illustrate the exciton dynamics along the first four excited states for both singlet and triplet manifolds, showing ultrafast same-spin transfer mechanisms due to all excited states, excluding the first triplet level, being in close energetic proximity (within 0.8 eV of each other). The resulting electron same-spin rates outcompete the electron spin-flipping intersystem crossing (ISC) rates, with excitons firmly obeying Kasha's rule as they cascade down from the high-lying excited states toward the lower states. Furthermore, we calculated that only the first singlet excited state displayed a reasonable probability of triplet exciton generation, of ∼40%, with a near-zero chance of the exciton reverting to the singlet manifold once the electron-hole pair are of parallel spin.

Abstract
Conjugated pillar[5]arene-diketopyrrolopyrrole copolymer (P1) is synthesized by the copolymerization of a difunctionalized pillar[5]arene and a diketopyrrolopyrrole-based monomer, which shows large extinction coefficients (1.1 × 104 m-1 cm-1 ) at 519 nm and strong emission at 587 nm. P1 exhibits very strong host-guest binding affinity towards adiponitrile but low binding affinity towards 1,4-dihalobutane and 1,4-bis(imidazol-1-yl)butane. Such an enhanced selectivity is first found in the polypseudorotaxane between pillararene and neutral guests in organic solution and is successfully used for the recognition and adsorption of adiponitrile by the formation of a P1-adiponitrile polypseudorotaxane.

Abstract
A new probe was synthesized by incorporating an α,β-unsaturated ketone to a diketopyrrolopyrrole fluorophore. The probe had exhibited a selective and sensitive response to the sulfite against other thirteen anions and biothiols (Cys, Hcy and GSH), through the nucleophilic addition of sulfite to the alkene of probe with the detection limit of 0.1 μM in HEPES (10 mM, pH 7.4) THF/H2O (1:1, v/v). Meanwhile, it could be easily observed that the probe for sulfite changed from pink to colorless by the naked eye, and from pink to blue under UV lamp after the sulfite was added for 20 min. The NMR and Mass spectral analysis demonstrated the expected addition of sulfite to the C=C bonds.

Abstract
New optical pH-sensors relying on 1,4-diketopyrrolo-[3,4-c]pyrroles (DPPs) as fluorescent pH-indicators are presented. Different polymer hydrogels are useful as immobilization matrices, achieving excellent sensitivity and good brightness in the resulting sensor. The operational pH can be tuned over a wide range (pH 5-12) by selecting the fine structure of the indicator and the matrix. A ratiometric sensor in the form of nanoparticles is also presented. It is suitable for RGB camera readout, and its practical applicability for fluorescence imaging in microfluidic systems is demonstrated. The indicators are synthesized starting from the commercially available DPP pigments by a straightforward concept employing chlorosulfonation and subsequent reaction with amines. Their sensitivity derives from two distinct mechanisms. At high pH (>9), they exhibit a remarkable alteration of both absorption and fluorescence spectra due to deprotonation of the lactam nitrogen atoms. If a phenolic group is introduced, highly effective fluorescence quenching at near-neutral pH occurs due to photoinduced electron transfer (PET) involving the phenolate form.

Abstract
A series of dipolar and octupolar triphenylamine-derived dyes containing a benzothiazole positioned in the matched or mismatched fashion have been designed and synthesized via palladium-catalyzed Sonogashira cross-coupling reactions. Linear and nonlinear optical properties of the designed molecules were tuned by an additional electron-withdrawing group (EWG) and by changing the relative positions of the donor and acceptor substituents on the heterocyclic ring. This allowed us to examine the effect of positional isomerism and extend the structure-property relationships useful in the engineering of novel heteroaromatic-based systems with enhanced two-photon absorption (TPA). The TPA cross-sections (δ(TPA)) in the target compounds dramatically increased with the branching of the triphenylamine core and with the strength of the auxiliary acceptor. In addition, a change from the commonly used polarity in push-pull benzothiazoles to a reverse one has been revealed as a particularly useful strategy (regioisomeric control) for enhancing TPA cross-sections and shifting the absorption and emission maxima to longer wavelengths. The maximum TPA cross-sections of the star-shaped three-branched triphenylamines are ∼500-2300 GM in the near-infrared region (740-810 nm); thereby the molecular weight normalized δ(TPA)/MW values of the best performing dyes within the series (2.0-2.4 GM·g(-1)·mol) are comparable to those of the most efficient TPA chromophores reported to date. The large TPA cross-sections combined with high emission quantum yields and large Stokes shifts make these compounds excellent candidates for various TPA applications, including two-photon fluorescence microscopy.
