Abstract
The influence of decreasing the entanglement density of macromolecules on the crystallization of the β-form of polypropylene was investigated. Polypropylene with seven times less entanglement was obtained from a solution in xylene, and its properties were compared with those of fully entangled polypropylene. To obtain a high β-phase content, the polymer was nucleated using calcium pimelate. In non-isothermal crystallization studies, accelerated growth of β-crystals was found, increasing the crystallization temperature. Also, the isothermal crystallization was fastest in the nucleated, partially disentangled polypropylene. Increased growth rate of spherulites and enhanced nucleation activity in the presence of more mobile macromolecules were responsible for the high rate of melt conversion to crystals in the disentangled polypropylene. It was also observed that the equilibrium melting temperature of β-crystals is lower after disentangling macromolecules. Better conditions for crystal building after reduction of entanglements resulted in enhanced crystallization according to regime II.

Abstract
Glass fiber-reinforced polypropylene (PP/GF) has been widely used due to its high stiffness, but for some applications that need low-module characteristics, PP/GF will have limitations due to its lower toughness, so it is necessary to develop glass fiber-modified polypropylene with good stiffness–toughness balance performance. In this study, two average length glass fibers (4.5 mm and 12 mm) and glass fiber powder, combined with β-nucleating agent, were used to investigate the effects on the crystallization and mechanical properties of polypropylene. The results show that compared with glass fiber, glass fiber powder cooperates with β-nucleating agent reinforced polypropylene composite showed good stiffness–toughness balance performance, and β-crystals were found in the composite measured by Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), the presence of β-crystals can improve the toughness of the composite.

Abstract
The effects of MXene on the crystallization behavior of β-nucleated isotactic polypropylene (iPP) were comparatively studied. The commonly used MXene Ti3C2Tx was prepared by selective etching and its structure and morphology were studied in detail. Then MXene and a rare earth β-nucleating agent (NA) WBG-II were nucleated with iPP to prepare samples with different polymorphic compositions. The crystallization, melting behavior, and morphologies of neat iPP, iPP/MXene, iPP/WBG-II, and iPP/MXene/WBG-II were comparatively studied. The crystallization behavior analysis reveals that a competitive relationship exists between MXene and WBG-II when they were compounded as α and β nucleating agents. In the system, the β-nucleation efficiency (NE) of WBG-II is higher than α-NE of MXene. The β-phase has relatively low thermal stability and would transform to α-phase when cooled below a critical temperature.
