Abstract
There is growing interest in 2D conjugated metal-organic frameworks (2D c-MOFs) for batteries due to their reversible redox chemistry. Nevertheless, currently reported 2D c-MOFs based on n-type ligands are mostly focused on the storage of cations for batteries. Herein, we successfully synthesize nitrogen-rich and electron-deficient p-type ligand-based Ni3(HATQ)2 assembled from 2,3,7,8,12,13-hexaaminotricycloquinazoline (HATQ), and the ion co-storage feature of cations and anions in sodium ion batteries (SIBs) is demonstrated for 2D c-MOFs for the first time. The redox chemistry from the p-type ligand and π-d hybridization center endows the Ni3(HATQ)2 cathode with high capacity and good rate performance, especially excellent capacity retention of 95% after 1000 cycles. These findings provide a promising avenue for the exploration of other p-type multidentate chelating ligands toward new 2D c-MOFs and expand the application of 2D c-MOFs in energy storage systems.

Abstract
The inherent benefits of aqueous Zn-ion batteries (ZIBs), such as environmental friendliness, affordability, and high theoretical capacity, render them promising candidates for energy storage systems. Nevertheless, the Zn anodes of ZIBs encounter severe challenges, including dendrite formation, hydrogen evolution reaction, corrosion, and surface passivation. These would result in the infeasibility of ZIBs in practical situations. To this end, artificial interfaces with functionalized materials are crafted to protect the Zn anode. They have the capability to modulate the zinc ion flux in proximity to the electrode surface and shield it from aqueous electrolytes by leveraging either size effects or charge effects. Considering metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with tunable pore size, chemical composition, and stable framework structures, they have emerged as effective materials for building artificial interfaces, prolonging the lifespan, and improving the unitization of Zn anode. In this review, the contributions of MOFs for protecting Zn anode, which mainly involves facilitating homogeneous nucleation, manipulating selective deposition, regulating ion and charge flux, accelerating Zn desolvation, and shielding against free water and anions are comprehensively summarized. Importantly, the future research trajectories of MOFs for the protection of the Zn anode are underscored, which may propose new perspectives on the practical Zn anode and endow the MOFs with high-value applications.

Abstract
Lithium-selenium batteries have emerged as a promising alternative to lithium-sulfur batteries due to their high electrical conductivity and comparable volume capacity. However, challenges such as the shuttle effect of polyselenides and high-volume fluctuations hinder their practical implementation. To address these issues, we propose synthesizing Fe-CNT/TiO2 catalyst through high-temperature sintering of an amalgamated nanoarchitecture of carbon nanotubes decorated metal-organic framework (MOF) and MXene, optimized for efficient selenium hosting, leveraging the distinctive physicochemical properties. The catalytic features inherent in the porous Se@Fe-CNT/TiO2 nanoarchitecture were instrumental in promoting efficient ion and electron transport, and lithium-polyselenide kinetics, while its inherent porosity could play a crucial role in inhibiting electrode stress during cycling. This nanoarchitecture exhibits remarkable battery performance, retaining 99.7% of theoretical capacity after 425 cycles at 0.5 C rate and demonstrating 95.8% capacity retention after 2000 cycles at 1 C rate, with ∼100% Coulombic efficiency. Additionally, the Se@Fe-CNT/TiO2 electrode exhibited an impressive recovery of 297.5 mAh/g (97.9%) capacity after undergoing 450 cycles at a charging rate of 10 C and a discharging rate of 1 C. This synergistic integration of MOF- and MXene-derived materials unveils new possibilities for high-performance and durable LSeBs, thus advancing electrochemical energy storage systems.

Efficient polysulfides interception/conversion ability and rapid lithium-ion conduction enabled by MOFs modified layers are demonstrated in Li-S batteries. In this perspective, the objective is to present an overview of recent advancements in utilizing pristine MOF materials as modification layers for separators in Li-S batteries. The mechanisms behind the enhanced electrochemical performance resulting from each design strategy are explained. The viewpoints and crucial challenges requiring resolution are also concluded for pristine MOFs separator in Li-S batteries. Moreover, some promising materials and concepts based on MOFs are proposed to enhance electrochemical performance and investigate polysulfides adsorption/conversion mechanisms. These efforts are expected to contribute to the future advancement of MOFs in advanced Li-S batteries.

Abstract
The static aqueous rechargeable Zn-Iodine batteries (ARZiBs) have been studied extensively because of their low-cost, high-safety, moderate voltage output, and other unique merits. Nonetheless, the poor electrical conductivity and thermodynamic instability of the iodine cathode, the complicated conversion mechanism, and the severe interfacial reactions at the Zn anode side induce their low operability and unsatisfactory cycling stability. This review first clarifies the typical configuration of ARZiBs with a focus on the energy storage mechanism and uncovers the issues of the ARZiBs from a fundamental point of view. After that, it categorizes the recent optimization strategies into cathode fabrication, electrolyte modulation, and separator/anode modification; and summarizes and highlights the achieved progress of these strategies in advanced ARZiBs. Given that the ARZiBs are still at an early stage, the future research outlook is provided, which hopefully may guide the rational design of advanced ARZiBs.

Abstract
The development of coordination polymers with π-d conjugation (CCPs) provides ide prospects for exploring the next generation of environmental-friendliness energy storage systems. Herein, the synthesis, experimental characterizations, and Na-ion storage mechanism of π-d CCPs with multiple-active sites are reported, which use quinone-fused aza-phenazine (AP) and aza-phenazin (AP) as the organic ligands coordinated with the metal center (Ni2+ ). Among them, NiQAP as the cathode material exhibits impressive electrochemical properties applied in sodium-ion batteries (SIBs), including the high initial/stable discharge specific capacities (180.0/225.6 mAh g-1 ) at 0.05 A g-1 , a long-term cycle stability up to 10,000 cycles at 1.0 A g-1 with a high reversible capacity of 100.1 mAh g-1 , and good rate capability of 99.6 mAh g-1 even at 5.0 A g-1 . Moreover, the Na-ion storage mechanism of NiQAP is also performed by the density functional theory (DFT) calculation, showing multiple-active sites of C≐O and C≐N (in the quinone and phenazine structure) and NiO4 (in the coordination unit) for Na-ion storage. These results highlight the importance of organic electrode material with the coordination units and provide a foundation for further studying the CCPs with multiple active sites for energy storage systems.
