Abstract
The addition of C-H bonds to isocyanates catalyzed by transition metals is a highly auspicious methodology for providing synthetically and biologically important amides. However, the substrates are limited to C(sp2)-H bonds. In this work, an efficient manganese(I)-catalyzed direct addition reaction of C(sp3)-H bonds of 8-methylquinolines to aryl isocyanates has been developed, leading to the synthesis of various α-quinolinyl amide compounds in moderate to high yields. The reaction has a broad range of substrates and a good functional group tolerance. A possible mechanism is proposed based on the experimental results.

Abstract
The Grignard-type nucleophilic addition of C(sp2)-H bonds to aldehydes catalyzed by high-oxidation-state transition metal complexes is limited to activated aldehydes. Herein, we report the first example of Grignard-type nucleophilic addition of C(sp2)-H bonds to unactivated aldehydes catalyzed by high-oxidation-state ruthenium(II). The reaction has mild reaction conditions and good functional group tolerance. The corresponding alcohol products are obtained in good to excellent yields.

Abstract
An efficient direct nucleophilic addition reaction of C(sp2)-H bonds to aldehydes catalyzed by a dimeric manganese has been developed. This reaction has a broad range of substrates, and high yields were also obtained with inert aliphatic aldehydes as substrates. A dimeric Mn2(CO)8Br2 was proven to be a more efficient catalyst precursor than the monomeric Mn(CO)5Br.

Abstract
The C-H bond addition reaction of 2-phenylpyridine derivatives with α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acids catalyzed by Cp*Rh(III)/BH3·SMe2 is reported. Activation of C-H bonds with the rhodium catalyst and activation of α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acids with the boron catalyst cooperatively work, and a BINOL-urea hybrid ligand significantly improved the reactivity. With the optimized hybrid catalytic system, various β-disubstituted carboxylic acids were obtained under mild reaction conditions.

Abstract
By using a chiral directing group, an asymmetric rhodium(III)-catalyzed C-H bond addition to aldimines followed by intramolecular cyclization to form chiral isoindolinones has been achieved (up to 68 % yield, up to 93 % ee). A three-component variant that resembles Mannich reaction was also realized (41 % yield, 83 % ee). Product elaborations and preliminary mechanistic studies were described.

Abstract
Ru(II)-catalyzed enantioselective C-H activation/hydroarylation has been developed for the first time, allowing for highly enantioselective synthesis of indoline derivatives via catalytic C-H activation. Commercially available Ru(II) arene complexes and chiral α-methylamines were employed as highly enantioselective catalysts. Based on a sterically rigidified chiral transient directing group, multisubstituted indolines were produced in up to 92% yield with 96% ee. Further transformation of the resulting 4-formylindoline enables access to an optically active tricyclic compound that is of potential biological and pharmaceutical interest.

Abstract
A highly stereoselective three-component C(sp(2) )-H bond addition across alkene and polarized π-bonds is reported for which Co(III) catalysis was shown to be much more effective than Rh(III) . The reaction proceeds at ambient temperature with both aryl and alkyl enones employed as efficient coupling partners. Moreover, the reaction exhibits extremely broad scope with respect to the aldehyde input; electron rich and poor aromatic, alkenyl, and branched and unbranched alkyl aldehydes all couple in good yield and with high diastereoselectivity. Multiple directing groups participate in this transformation, including pyrazole, pyridine, and imine functional groups. Both aromatic and alkenyl C(sp(2) )-H bonds undergo the three-component addition cascade, and the alkenyl addition product can readily be converted into diastereomerically pure five-membered lactones. Additionally, the first asymmetric reactions with Co(III) -catalyzed C-H functionalization are demonstrated with three-component C-H bond addition cascades employing N-tert-butanesulfinyl imines. These examples represent the first transition metal catalyzed C-H bond additions to N-tert-butanesulfinyl imines, which are versatile and extensively used intermediates for the asymmetric synthesis of amines.
