Abstract
The bis(amidodimethyl)disiloxane antimony chlorides Sb(NONR )Cl (NONR =[O(SiMe2 NR)2 ]2- ; R=tBu, Ph, 2,6-Me2 C6 H3 =Dmp, 2,6-iPr2 C6 H3 =Dipp, 2,6-(CHPh2 )2 -4-tBuC6 H2 =tBu-Bhp) are reduced to SbII and SbI species by using MgI reagents, [Mg(BDIR' )]2 (BDI=[HC{C(Me)NR'}2 ]- ; R'=2,4,6-Me3 C6 H2 =Mes, Dipp). Stoichiometric reactions with Sb(NONR )Cl (R=tBu, Ph) form dimeric SbII stibanes [Sb(NONR )]2 , shown crystallographically to contain Sb-Sb single bonds. The analogous distibane with R=Dmp substituents has an exceptionally long Sb-Sb interaction and exhibits spectroscopic and reactivity properties consistent with radical character in solution. When R=Dipp, reductions with MgI reagents directly give distibenes [Sb(μ-NONDipp )Mg(BDIR' )(THF)n ]2 (R'=Mes, n=1; R'=Dipp, n=0). Crystallographic analysis shows a trans-substitution of the Sb=Sb double bond, with bridging NONDipp -ligands between the SbI and MgII centres. An attempt to access the NONPh -analogue using the same protocol afforded the polystibide cluster Sb8 [μ4 ,η2:2:2:2 -Mg(BDIMes )]4 , which co-crystallized with the ligand transfer product, [Mg(BDIMes )]2 (μ-NONPh ).

Abstract
The synthesis and characterisation is presented of the compounds [An(TrenDMBS ){Pn(SiMe3 )2 }] and [An(TrenTIPS ){Pn(SiMe3 )2 }] [TrenDMBS =N(CH2 CH2 NSiMe2 But )3 , An=U, Pn=P, As, Sb, Bi; An=Th, Pn=P, As; TrenTIPS =N(CH2 CH2 NSiPri3 )3 , An=U, Pn=P, As, Sb; An=Th, Pn=P, As, Sb]. The U-Sb and Th-Sb moieties are unprecedented examples of any kind of An-Sb molecular bond, and the U-Bi bond is the first two-centre-two-electron (2c-2e) one. The Th-Bi combination was too unstable to isolate, underscoring the fragility of these linkages. However, the U-Bi complex is the heaviest 2c-2e pairing of two elements involving an actinide on a macroscopic scale under ambient conditions, and this is exceeded only by An-An pairings prepared under cryogenic matrix isolation conditions. Thermolysis and photolysis experiments suggest that the U-Pn bonds degrade by homolytic bond cleavage, whereas the more redox-robust thorium compounds engage in an acid-base/dehydrocoupling route.

Abstract
Reaction of KMnSb and C7H8Mo(CO)3 produced Sb102- and Sb22- found in [K(18-crown-6)]6[Sb10][Sb4{Mo(CO)3}2]·2en (1·2en) adding two new family members for antimony polyanions. The unusually short Sb-Sb bond in the Sb2 subunits of 1 reveals the formation of the second doubly bonded diatomic anion between heavy elements following Bi22-, and the first example of such doubly bonded anions stabilized by metal carbonyl groups.

Abstract

The
reaction of a cyclic disilylated bromostibine with magnesium
yields a rare example of a magnesium stibide that can be silylated
with trimethylchlorosilane. Reaction of the thus-obtained trisilylated
stibine with potassium tert-butoxide gives a potassium
stibide in a clean reaction. Attempts to obtain an antimony-containing
oligosilanide did not lead to the expected compound but to another
potassium stibide, which presumably forms from the initially formed
silanide by a 1,2-silyl shift. The synthetic potential of the obtained
stibides to serve as building blocks could be shown by the preparation
of stibylated zircono- and hafnocenes.

Abstract
By reactions of magnesium oligosilanides with SbCl3, a number of oligosilanylated antimony compounds were obtained. When oligosilanyl dianions were used, either the expected cyclic disilylated halostibine was obtained or alternatively the formation of a distibine was observed. Deliberate formation of the distibine from the disilylated halostibine was achieved by reductive coupling with C8K. Computational studies of Sb-Sb bond energies, barriers of pyramidal inversion at Sb, and the conformational behavior of distibines provided insight for the understanding of the spectroscopic properties.

Abstract
The redox behavior of kinetically stabilized dipnictenes, BbtE=EBbt [E = P, Sb, Bi; Bbt = 2,6-bis[bis(trimethylsilyl)methyl]-4-[tris(trimethylsilyl)methyl]phenyl], was systematically disclosed using cyclic voltammetry and theoretical calculations. It was found that they showed reversible one-electron redox couples in the reduction region. The anion radical species of the Bbt-substituted diphosphene and distibene were successfully synthesized by the reduction of the corresponding neutral dipnictenes (BbtP=PBbt and BbtSb=SbBbt). Their structures were reasonably characterized by ESR, UV-vis, and Raman spectroscopy, and the distibene anion radical was structurally characterized by X-ray crystallographic analysis.

Reactions of a Gallium(II)−Diazabutadiene Dimer, [{{[(H)C(But)N]2}GaI}2], with [ME(SiMe3)2] (M = Li or Na; E = N, P, or As): Structural, EPR, and ENDOR Characterization of Paramagnetic Gallium(III) Pnictide Complexes. Abstract
The reactions of the paramagnetic gallium(II) complex [{(Bu(t)-DAB)GaI}2] (Bu(t)-DAB = {(Bu(t))NC(H)}2) with the alkali metal pnictides [ME(SiMe3)2] (M = Li or Na; E = N, P, or As) have been carried out under a range of stoichiometries. The 1:2 reactions have led to a series of paramagnetic gallium(III)-pnictide complexes, [(Bu(t)-DAB)Ga{E(SiMe3)2}I] (E = N, P, or As), while two of the 1:4 reactions afforded [(Bu(t)-DAB)Ga{E(SiMe3)2}2] (E = P or As). In contrast, treatment of [{(Bu(t)-DAB)GaI}2] with 4 equiv of [NaN(SiMe3)2] resulted in a novel gallium heterocycle coupling reaction and the formation of the diradical species [(Bu(t)-DAB)Ga{N(SiMe3)2}{[CC(H)N2(Bu(t))2]Ga[N(SiMe3)2]CH3}]. The mechanism of this unusual reaction has been explored, and evidence suggests it involves an intramolecular transmethylation reaction. The X-ray crystal structures of all prepared complexes are reported, and all have been characterized by EPR and ENDOR spectroscopies. The observed spin Hamiltonian parameters provide a detailed picture of the distribution of the unpaired spin density over the molecular frameworks of the complexes.

Abstract
The reaction of (Me(3)Si)(3)SiK[middle dot]18-crown-6 with SbCl(3)(3 : 1 equiv.) provides a simple route to the title complex [(Me(3)Si)(3)SiSb](4). The potassium base initially acts as a nucleophile and then as a coupling agent, forming Sb-Sb bonds.

Abstract
The heterometallic Sb(III)/Li cage complex [{Sb(P-t-Bu)3}2Li6·6THF] (1) is obtained by the low-temperature (<0°C) reaction of Sb(NMe2)3 with t-BuPHLi (1:3 equiv) in THF. Thermolysis of this reaction solution leads to the formation of the bicyclic distibane [(t-BuP)3Sb]2 (2). 31P NMR spectroscopic studies reveal that this process involves initial formation of [(t-BuP)3Sb] and [t-Bu(H)PP-t-Bu] anions. Complexes 1 and 2 have been characterized in the solid state by X-ray diffraction studies.Key words: antimony, lithium, cage.

Abstract
The isostructural title compounds were prepared by direct reactions of the corresponding elements, and their structures were determined from single-crystal X-ray diffraction data in the monoclinic space group C2/m, Z = 2 (K5As4, a = 11.592(2) A, b = 5.2114(5) A, c = 10.383(3) A, beta = 113.42(1) degrees; K5Sb4, a = 12.319(1) A, b = 5.4866(4) A, c = 11.258(1) A, beta = 112.27(7) degrees; Rb5Sb4, a = 12.7803(9) A, b = 5.7518(4) A, c = 11.6310(8) A, beta = 113.701(1) degrees; K5Bi4, a = 12.517(2) A, b = 5.541(1) A, c = 11.625(2) A, beta = 111.46(1) degrees; Rb5Bi4, a = 12.945(4) A, b = 5.7851(9) A, c = 12.018(5) A, beta = 112.78(3) degrees; Cs5Bi4, a = 12.887(3) A, b = 6.323(1) A, c = 12.636(1) A, beta = 122.94(2) degrees). The compounds contain isolated and flat zigzag tetramers of Pn4(4-) (Pnictide (Pn) = As, Sb, Bi) with a conjugated pi-electron system of delocalized electrons. All six compounds are metallic ("metallic salts") and show temperature-independent (Pauli-like) paramagnetism due to a delocalized electron from the extra alkali-metal cation in the formula. At low temperatures (around 9.5 K) and low magnetic fields the bismuthides become superconducting.
