γ-Ray Irradiation Enables Annealing- and Light-Soaking-Free Solution Processable SnO2 Electron Transport Layer for Inverted Organic Solar Cells

The electrode buffer layer is crucial for high-performance and stable OSCs, optimizing charge transport and energy level alignment at the interface between the polymer active layer and electrode. Recently, SnO2 has emerged as a promising material for the cathode buffer layer due to its desirable properties, such as high electron mobility, transparency, and stability. Typically, SnO2 nanoparticle layers require a postannealing treatment above 150°C in an air environment to remove the surfactant ligands and obtain high-quality thin films. However, this poses challenges for flexible electronics as flexible substrates can't tolerate temperatures exceeding 100°C. This study presents solution-processable and annealing-free SnO2 nanoparticles by employing y-ray irradiation to disrupt the bonding between surfactant ligands and SnO2 nanoparticles. The SnO2 layer treated with y-ray irradiation is used as an electron transport layer in OSCs based on PTB7-Th:IEICO-4F. Compared to the conventional SnO2 nanoparticles that required high-temperature annealing, the y-SnO2 nanoparticle-based devices exhibit an 11% comparable efficiency without postannealing at a high temperature. Additionally, y-ray treatment has been observed to eliminate the light-soaking effect of SnO2. By eliminating the high-temperature postannealing and light-soaking effect, y-SnO2 nanoparticles offer a promising, cost-effective solution for future flexible solar cells fabricated using roll-to-roll mass processing.

Structural diversity and photocatalytic properties of Cd(ii) coordination polymers constructed by a flexible V-shaped bipyridyl benzene ligand and dicarboxylate derivatives

Reactions of Cd(OAc)₂ with V-shaped bipyridyl benzene and five benzenedicarboxylic acid derivatives gave rise to five new CPs. Complexes 1–5 exhibited relatively good photocatalytic activity towards the degradation of methylene blue.

Positional isomeric effect on the structural variation of Cd(ii) coordination polymers based on flexible linear/V-shaped bipyridyl benzene ligands

Solvothermal reactions of Cd(OAc)₂·2H₂O with 2,2′-azodibenzoic acid and five positional isomeric N-donor bipyridyl benzene ligands in MeOH/H₂O at 170 °C gave rise to five coordination polymers. Complexes 1–5 were characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, powder X-ray diffraction, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction.

A helical zinc(II) coordination polymer assembled from 1,3-bis[(pyridin-3-yl)methoxy]benzene and benzene-1,4-dicarboxylic acid

In catena-poly[[aqua[1,3-bis(pyridine-3-ylmethoxy)benzene-κN]zinc(II)]-μ2-benzene-1,4-dicarboxylato-κ(2)O(1):O(4)], [Zn(C8H4O4)(C18H16N2O2)(H2O)]n, each Zn(II) centre is tetrahedrally coordinated by two O atoms of bridging carboxylate groups from two benzene-1,4-dicarboxylate anions (denoted L(2-)), one O atom from a water molecule and one N atom from a 1,3-bis[(pyridin-3-yl)methoxy]benzene ligand (denoted bpmb). (Aqua)O-H···N hydrogen-bonding interactions induce the formation of one-dimensional helical [Zn(L)(bpmb)(H2O)]n chains which are interlinked through (aqua)O-H···O hydrogen-bonding interactions, producing two-dimensional corrugated sheets.

A New 3D Coordination Polymer of Bismuth with Nicotinic AcidN-Oxide

The new three-dimensional coordination polymer {[Bi(NNO)2(NO3)]·1.5H2O}n(1, NNO−= nicotinateN-oxide) was synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR and1H-NMR spectroscopy, as well as single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis.1crystallizes in the monoclinic space group C2/c. The crystal structure consists of a rectangular-shaped grid constructed with NNO linkers. Cavities of a diameter of 7.9–8.3 Å2are filled with disordered water molecules. The thermal stability of the compound was evaluated by thermogravimetric analysis.
