Abstract
The synthesis and crystal structures of two anionic cadmium dicyanoaurate coordination polymers, [nBu4N]6[(Cd4Cl4)2(Au(CN)2)12][CdCl4] (TCCA) and [nBu4N]2[Cd(Au(CN)2)4], and their reaction with ammonia vapour is reported. TCCA and the isostructural [nBu4N]6[(Cd4Br4)2(Au(CN)2)12][CdBr4] form 3-D arrays with [Cd4X4]4+ (X=Cl, Br) cubane clusters linked from each octahedral Cd(II) centre by three bridging [Au(CN)2]- units. TCCA reacts with ammonia with concentrations of 1000 ppm or higher to give a product with a quantum yield of 0.88, while [nBu4N]2[Cd(Au(CN)2)4], which forms a 2-D anionic Cd[Au(CN)2]2 sheet structure with axially pendant [Au(CN)2]- units, reacts with concentrated ammonia vapour to generate Cd(NH3)2[Au(CN)2]2; this has a similar 2-D sheet structure but with axial NH3 units. Vibrational spectroscopy illustrated that the reaction of both Cd/[Au(CN)2]-based materials with ammonia proceeded by breaking Cd-NC bonds. For [nBu4N]2[Cd(Au(CN)2)4], this results in decomposition into [nBu4N][Au(CN)2] ⋅ 0.5H2O and Cd(NH3)2[Au(CN)2]2, while the reaction of ammonia with TCCA is reversible by heating the ammonia-bound sample above 110 °C. Cd[Au(CN)2]2 can be prepared by thermal removal of NH3 units from Cd(NH3)2[Au(CN)2]2.

Abstract
A Rhodamine B-Zn-MOF composite (RhB-Zn-MOF) with dual emission intensity was synthesized through one pot synthesis by in-situ encapsulation of Rhodamine-B dye on a new Zn-MOF metal-organic framework [(Zn(OAc)2(4-BrIPh) (1,10-phenonthroline)(H2O)].H2O, (4-BrIPh = 4-Bromoisophthalic acid). The synthesized encapsulated material was characterized by elemental analysis, FTIR, UV-Visible spectroscopy, TGA, single crystal and powder X-ray diffraction and photoluminescence spectroscopy. The results showed that the synthesized composite, RhB-Zn-MOF could be used as an efficient probe for the selective sensing of Cr(VI) in the presence of Cr(III) as well as other metal ions.

Abstract
Via the solvothermal reaction between Zn(II) or Mn(II) salts and 5-(3,4-dicarboxylphenoxy)nicotinic acid (H3L) ligand, a trifunctional N,O-building block having three diverse kinds of functional groups (O-ether, N-pyridyl and COOH), two new coordination polymers (CPs) could be generated, and their chemical formulae respectively are {[Mn3(L)2(H2O)2]·4H2O} (1) and {[Zn(HL)]·NMP} (2). The complex 2 based on Zn(II) possesses high efficiency of fluorescence quenching for the nitrophenol (2,4,6-trinitrophenol, TNP; 4-nitrophenol, 4-NP; 3-nitrophenol, 3-NP; 2-nitrophenol, 2-NP) in the aqueous solution. Furthermore, the treatment activity of compounds on the atherosclerosis was assessed, and relevant mechanism was investigated. First of all, the ELISA assay was used to measure the content of the inflammatory cytokines released into the plasma. Besides, the levels of the NF-κb signaling pathway in the vascular endothelial cells were measured with real time RT-PCR. The hemolysis test was conducted in this research to measure the biocompatibility of the new compound.

Abstract
Simultaneous high sensitivity detection of biomolecules is important for research in medicine, living cells and environmental samples. In this work, a water stable coordination polymer, [Cd2(bptc)(4,4'-bpy)(H2O)3]ˑH2O 1 (H4bptc = 2,3,3',4'-biphenyl tetracarboxylic acid, 4,4'-bpy = 4,4'-bipyridine), was designed and successfully synthesized as a luminescent sensor for simultaneous recognition of Ascorbic Acid (AA) and L-Tryptophan (L-Trp) based on luminescent -OFF and -ON, respectively. Importantly, the proposed sensing system showed an excellent performance with high KSV values of 4.85 × 104 M-1, 9.60 × 107 M-1 and low limit of detection (LOD) of 0.28 nM, 63 nM, respectively. In addition, the probable mechanisms are also discussed. The luminescent quenching behavior by AA can be mainly attributed to the static resonance energy transfer between complex 1 and the analytes. Whereas the enhancing effect of L-Trp comes from the intrinsic strong luminescence for L-Trp itself and photo-competitive mechanism between CP 1 sensor and L-Trp, supposedly. In addition, the repeatability of both systems were also investigated.

Abstract
A novel coordination polymer (CP) based on Zn(II) of [Zn(tptc)0.5(bpy)(H2O)]n (1) was synthesized through utilizing the 2,2'-bipyridine (bpy) chelating N donors and p-terphenyl-2,2'',5'',5'''-tetracarboxylate acid (H4tptc) as the co-ligands. The measurements of the fluorescence were implemented for the complex 1 in solution and solid state, and the result reveals that 1 has a strong fluorescence and it is a sensory material with great development space to determine the trace Cr2O72- (with the detection limit of 36 ppb) in the water solutions via applying the fluorescence quenching effect. As the common disease in the orthopedic nursing, the deep vein thrombosis was the objective in this research. The weigh and length of the thrombus in the animals were measured and analyzed. In addition to this, the inflammatory response in the deep vein thrombosis animal was evaluated by RT-PCR. Molecular docking results indicate that only the carboxyl group could provide polar oxygen atoms for the formed hydrogen bonds to the protein.

Abstract
Tunable photoluminescent-functionalized carbon quantum dots CQDs@Ln (TFA)3 (Ln = Eu, Tb; TFA: trifluoroacetylacetone) were designed and synthesized by introducing lanthanide complexes into the modified CQDs surface through the carboxyl group. The as-prepared CQDs@Ln (TFA)3 emit strong blue–green light with the peak at 435 nm and simultaneously show the characteristic emission of Ln3+ under irradiation of 365 nm light in aqueous solution. Moreover, these functionalized CQDs exhibit excellent photoluminescence properties. In addition, a white luminescent solution CQDs@Eu/Tb (TFA)3 was obtained by adjusting the ratio of Eu3+/Tb3+ and the excitation wavelengths. Moreover, CQDs@Tb (TFA)3 can be utilized as a fluorescent probe for the sensitive and selective detection of MnO4− without interference from other ions in aqueous solution. These results provide the meaningful data for the multicomponent assembly and the photoluminescent-functionalized materials based on the modified CQDs and lanthanide, which can be expected to have potential application in photocatalytic or sensors.

Abstract
A series of isostructural lanthanide coordination polymers (Ln-CPs), [Ln(Hbptc)(H2O)4]·H2O [Ln = Er (1), Pr (2), Dy (3), Sm (4), Gd (5), Nd (6) and Tb(7); H4bptc = 2,3,3',4'-biphenyl tetracarboxylic acid] have been isolated based on an unsymmetrical tetracarboxylic acid. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that all CPs featured a two dimensional (2D) layer with (6, 6, 6)-connected 63 topology. Luminescent spectra demonstrate that CPs 1-7 exhibit impressive UV-visible luminescence in the solid state at room temperature. More significantly, a single-component white-light material with International Commission on Illumination (CIE) coordinates of (0.335, 0.334) for 4 (Sm-CP), very closing to the pure white-light of (0.333, 0.333) was obtained by finely tuning of the excitation wavelength. In addition, the luminescent detection for anions of 7 is investigated. Fluorescence measurements show that 7 can detect oxoanion pollutants Cr2O72-, CrO42-, and MnO4- anions in aqueous solutions with high selectivity and sensitivity, which suggests that the Tb-CP is a promising functional luminescence probe for toxic oxoanions. The possible mechanisms of the quenching effect were also discussed in detail.
