Abstract
A database of 300 compounds was virtually screened and docked against Bcl-2 protein; the stability of the best-formed complex was evaluated through Molecular dynamics, the top ten compounds with the best in-silico complexation affinities were synthesized, and their In-vitro cytotoxic activity was examined. Thiazolidinone (4e) and isoxazoline (4a-d) were evaluated in-silico. For further evaluation and examination, we designed and synthesized from naturally occurring (R)-carvone and characterized it via spectroscopic analysis, as well as tested for their anticancer activities towards human cancer cell lines such as HT-1080 (fibrosarcome cancer), MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231 (breast cancer) and A-549 (lung cancer) by using MTT method with Doxorubicin as standard drug. Among them, compound 4d showed the most promising anticancer activity against HT-1080, A-549, MCF-7, and MDA-MB-231 cell lines with IC50 values of 15.59 ± 3.21 µM; 18.32 ± 2.73 µM; 17.28 ± 0.33 µM and 19.27 ± 2.73 µM respectively.Communicated by Ramaswamy H. Abstract
Three novel diterpenoid alkaloids, comprising two C19 -diterpenoid alkaloids (1 and 2) and one C20 -diterpenoid alkaloid (3), were isolated from Delphinium ajacis, alongside the six known compounds (4-9). Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods (MS, UV, IR, 1D and 2D NMR) and chemical properties. Simultaneously, the anti-inflammatory properties of all compounds (1-9) was conducted, focusing on nitric oxide (NO) production in LPS-induced BV-2 cells. The results indicated compounds 1-3, 7, and 8 have potential anti-inflammatory activity.

Abstract
Annona muricata L. has been used traditionally in Indonesia to treat disease. Phytochemical studies on the alkaloid fractions from the root of Annona muricata L. from Malang-Indonesia resulted in the isolation of an unreported benzylisoquinoline alkaloid (+)-xylopine 5 as well as four known alkaloids (1-4). The crude methanol extract and alkaloid fractions were tested against Plasmodium falciparum K1 and against bacteria (Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumonia, Acinetobacter buamanii, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) with insignificant activities (MIC > 32 µg/mL). Individual alkaloids were tested against a human suspension cancer cell line (HL-60 leukemia cells) and two human fibroblastic cancer cell lines (A549 lung cancer cells and HepG2 liver cancer cells) in which compound 5 was the most toxic alkaloid with IC50 values ranging from 20 to 80 µM.

Abstract
Foodborne disease is a major public health problem. The present study examined Annona squamosa leaves, which are traditionally used to treat diarrhea and other infections, for their potential to be used in modern food safety or medicine. Active constituents were partially purified by ethanol extraction and column chromatography. MICs of the extract were 62.5 to 125 μg/mL against Bacillus cereus, Listeria monocytogenes and Staphylococcus aureus, and 250 μg/mL against Campylobacter jejuni. In time-kill assays, 500 μg/mL of the extract reduced colony forming unit numbers of C. jejuni almost 10 000-fold within 12 hours. Similar decreases were seen against B. cereus, but over a longer time-frame. LC-MS analysis indicated the presence of reticuline and oxophoebine. Assessment of stability by MIC assay showed activity was heat-labile, with loss of activity greatest following high temperature treatments. Activity was relatively stable at refrigeration temperature. These results indicate A. squamosa has broad-spectrum but heat-labile activity against foodborne bacterial pathogens, and bactericidal activity against B. cereus and C. jejuni. This bactericidal activity is not sufficiently rapid for A. squamosa to be used as a food sanitizer, but the extract could potentially be developed as an additive for refrigerated foods, or a modern treatment for foodborne illness.
