Abstract
An efficient C-N cross-coupling approach for the synthesis of hydrazones was developed through C(sp2)-H and C(sp3)-H functionalization of indole and methylarene under visible light irradiation using photocatalyst eosin Y, ethanol:water as a green solvent and atmospheric air as an oxidant. With the aid of eosin Y, the C-H bonds of indole and methylarenes were activated followed by coupling with arylhydrazines. The procedure was applied to a wide variety of substrates with good functional group compatibility, offering a creative way to make hydrazones from inexpensive and easily accessible raw materials. The absence of metals, low cost, environmental friendliness, green solvent, non-toxicity, ease of handling, and utilization of renewable energy sources like visible light are some of this method's primary advantages.

Spreading rapidly in recent years, cancer has become one of the causes of the highest mor-tality rates after cardiovascular diseases. The reason for cancer development is still not clearly under-stood despite enormous research activities in this area. Scientists are now working on the biology of cancer, especially on the root cause of cancer development. The aim is to treat the cancer disease and thus cure the patients. The continuing efforts for the development of novel molecules as potential anti-cancer agents are essential for this purpose. The main aim of this review was to present a survey on the medicinal chemistry of thioethers and provide practical data on their cytotoxicities against various cancer cell lines. The research articles published between 2001-2020 were consulted to pre-pare this review article; however, patent literature has not been included. The thioether-containing heterocyclic compounds may emerge as a new class of potent and effective anti-cancer agents in the future.

Abstract
Cancer is a leading cause of death worldwide. Even after the availability of numerous drugs and treatments in the market, scientists and researchers are focusing on new therapies because of their resistance and toxicity issues. The newly synthesized drug candidates are able to demonstrate in vitro activity but are unable to reach clinical trials due to their rapid metabolism and low bioavailability. Therefore there is an imperative requisite to expand novel anticancer negotiators with tremendous activity as well as in vivo efficacy. Tetrazole is a promising pharmacophore which is metabolically more stable and acts as a bioisosteric analogue for many functional groups. Tetrazole fragment is often castoff with other pharmacophores in the expansion of novel anticancer drugs. This is the first systematic review that emphasizes on contemporary strategies used for the inclusion of tetrazole moiety, mechanistic targets along with comprehensive structural activity relationship studies to provide perspective into the rational design of high-efficiency tetrazole-based anticancer drug candidates.

Abstract
The process of programmed cell death in higher eukaryotes (apoptosis), is generally characterized by distinct morphological characteristics and energy-dependent biochemical mechanisms. Apoptosis is considered as a vital component of various processes including normal cell turnover, proper development and functioning of the immune system, hormone-dependent atrophy, embryonic development and chemical-induced cell death. Apoptosis seems to play an important key role in the progression of several human diseases like Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and many types of cancer. Promotion of apoptosis may be a good approach for the prevention of cancer cell proliferation. In early studies, antitumor compounds have been found to induce the apoptotic process in tumor cells. On the other hand, several hydrazones were reported to have lower toxicity than hydrazides due to the blockage of -NH2 group. Therefore, the design of hydrazones that activate and promote apoptosis is an attractive strategy for the discovery and development of potential anticancer agents. The aim of this review is to provide a general overview of current knowledge and the connection between apoptosis and hydrazone. It is also the guide for the apoptotic activities of new hydrazone derivatives.

Abstract
Treatment of [Ru]-C[triple bond, length as m-dash]CPh (1, [Ru] = (η5-C5H5)(dppe)Ru, dppe = Ph2PCH2CH2PPh2) with trimethylsilyl azide afforded the cationic nitrile complex {[Ru]NCCH2Ph}[N3] (2) and the further cycloaddition of 2 with trimethylsilyl azide at 60 °C afforded the N(2)-bound tetrazolato complex [Ru]N4CCH2Ph (3). The regiospecific alkylation of 3 gave a series of cationic N(2)-bound N(4)-alkylated-5-benzyl tetrazolato complexes {[Ru]N4(CH2R)CCH2Ph}[Br] (4a, R = C6F5; 4b, R = Ph; 4c, R = 4-CN-C6H4; 4d, R = 2,6-F2-C6H3; 4e, R = 6-CH2Br-C5NH3) and the subsequent cleavage of the Ru-N bond of 4a-4e gave N(1)-alkylated-5-benzyl tetrazoles N4(CH2R)CCH2Ph (5a-5e) in good to excellent yields and [Ru]-Br, which, on reacting with phenylacetylene, resulted in the formation of 1 thus forming a reaction cycle. The structures of 2, 3, 4a, 4c and 5a were confirmed by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis.

Abstract
One-pot sequential reactions of aryldiazonium salts with amidines followed by the treatment of I2/KI under basic conditions provide 2,5-disubstituted tetrazoles in moderate to excellent yields. This one-pot synthesis has several advantages such as mild reaction conditions, short reaction time, convenient workup, and high yields, making this methodology practical.
