Abstract
To investigate the effect and safety of the Neuroform Atlas (NFA) stent in stent-assisted coiling of wide-necked intracranial aneurysms, patients with wide-necked intracranial aneurysms were retrospectively enrolled and treated with the NFA stent-assisted coiling. The modified Rankin scale (mRS) grades and Raymond grades were used to assess the clinical outcomes and aneurysm occlusion degrees, respectively, after embolization and at follow-up. Totally, 122 patients were enrolled with 129 wide-necked aneurysms, and forty-nine (40.2%) patients experienced subarachnoid hemorrhage. A total of 134 NFA stents were deployed in all patients. Immediately after endovascular embolization, the Raymond grade was I in 112 (86.8%), II in 8 (6.2%), and III in 9 (7.0%). Complications occurred in 7 (5.7%) patients, including stent displacement in 2 (1.6%) patients, thrombosis and cerebral infarction in 4 (3.3%), and death in 1 (0.8%). Clinical follow-up was performed in 113 (92.6%) patients 6-30 (mean 21) months after embolization, with the mRS grade 0 in 99 (87.6%) patients, 1 in 7 (6.2%), 2 in 5 (4.4%), and 3 in 2 (1.8%). Good prognosis (mRS ≤ 2) was achieved in 111 (98.2%) patients while poor prognosis (mRS > 2) in two (1.8%). Digital subtraction angiography was conducted in 98 (80.3%) patients with 104 (80.6%) aneurysms 6-30 (mean 21) months after embolization. The Raymond grade was grade I in 94 (90.4%) aneurysms, II in 4 (3.8%), and III in 6 (5.8%). Compared with the Raymond grades immediately after embolization, 93 (89.4%) aneurysms disappeared, 9 (8.7%) remained unchanged in the occlusion status, and 2 (1.9%) were recurrent. In conclusion, the NFA stent may have a high aneurysm occlusion rate and a low complication rate in assisting coiling of wide-necked intracranial aneurysms even though further studies are necessary to prove this.

Abstract
BACKGROUND This study analyzed the safety and efficacy of Enterprise 2 stent-assisted coil embolization for wide-necked intracranial aneurysms by examining stent-vessel apposition, operative complications, embolization outcomes, and clinical outcomes. METHODS We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of patients with wide-necked intracranial aneurysms who underwent Enterprise 2 stent-assisted coiling in our hospital from November 2018 to October 2019. Intraoperative VasoCT was performed immediately after stent release in a continuous cohort of patients to observe stent-vessel apposition. Patient demographic, clinical, and imaging data were recorded and analyzed. RESULTS A total of 106 wide-necked aneurysms in 106 patients were treated. Stent release was successful in all patients. Twenty-one patients were enrolled consecutively for VasoCT scanning, and incomplete stent apposition was observed in 5 (23.8%). Perioperative complications occurred in 10 patients (9.4%): cerebral infarction in 6, intraoperative coil prolapse in 1, puncture site pseudoaneurysm in 1, deep vein thrombosis at multiple sites in 1, and transient brainstem mass effect in 1. Among the 95 aneurysms with angiographic follow-up, embolization was satisfactory (Raymond-Roy classifications I and II) in 89 (93.7%). Hyperlipidemia was an independent risk factor for incomplete aneurysm occlusion. At the last clinical follow-up, seven patients had a poor clinical outcome (modified Rankin Scale score ≥ 3). Independent risk factors for poor outcomes were preoperative subarachnoid hemorrhage at presentation and cerebral infarction. CONCLUSION Enterprise 2 stent-assisted coiling for treatment of wide-necked intracranial aneurysms showed good safety and efficacy; however, incomplete stent apposition can still occur in vessels with a large curvature. Preoperative subarachnoid hemorrhage at presentation and cerebral infarction are the main reasons for poor clinical outcomes after stent-assisted coil embolization.

Abstract
PurposeTo investigate the effect of sub-satisfactory stent recanalization on hemodynamic stresses for severe stenoses of the middle cerebral artery (MCA) M 1 segment.Materials and methodsPatients with severe stenoses of the MCA M1 segment treated with endovascular stent angioplasty were retrospectively enrolled. Three-dimensional digital subtraction angiography before and after stenting was performed; the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis of hemodynamic stresses at the stenosis and normal segments proximal and distal to the stenoses was analyzed.ResultsFifty-one patients with severe stenosis at the MCA M1 segment were enrolled, with the stenosis length ranging from 5.1 to 12.8 mm (mean 9 ± 3.3 mm). Stent angioplasty was successful in all (100%) the patients. The angiography immediately after stenting demonstrated a significant (P < 0.05) decrease in MCA stenosis after comparison with before stenting (31.4 ±12.5% vs. 87.5 ± 9.6%), with residual stenosis of 15–30% (mean 22.4 ± 3.5%). Before stenting, the total pressure was significantly higher (P < 0.0001), while the WSS, velocity, and vorticity were all significantly decreased (P < 0.0001) at the normal arterial segment proximal to the stenosis, and the total pressure, WSS, velocity, and vorticity were all significantly decreased (P < 0.0001) at the normal arterial segment distal to the stenosis compared with those at the stenosis. After sub-satisfactory stenting recanalization, all the hemodynamic stresses proximal or distal to the stenosis and at the perforator root were improved compared with those before stenting and were similar to those after virtual stenosis removal.ConclusionSub-satisfactory recanalization of severe MCA stenoses can significantly improve the hemodynamic status for cerebral perfusion at the stenoses.

Abstract
Aim: To investigate the effectiveness and safety of the Enterprise 2 (E2) stent versus the Enterprise 1 (E1) stent in treating ruptured intracranial aneurysms (RIAs) in China. Materials & methods: The authors conducted an electronic medical record analysis for patients with RIAs who underwent E1/E2 deployment. The main outcomes were immediate complete occlusion (ICO), patient functional outcomes, complications and aneurysm recurrence. Results: Stent deployment was successful in all patients (E2: 90; E1: 270). ICO and patients with good functional outcomes at discharge were similar between E2 and E1 (80.0% vs 75.1% and 78.7% vs 81.1%, respectively). The E2 group had a significantly lower complication rate compared with the E1 group (7.8% vs 16.4%; odds ratio: 0.36; 95% CI: 0.15-0.91; p = 0.031). By 6 months post-discharge, the two groups had comparable patient functional outcomes and aneurysm recurrence (E2 vs E1: 80.2% vs 81.9% and 13.3% vs 14.9%). Conclusion: Compared with the E1 stent, the E2 stent had similar effectiveness but a lower complication risk in treating RIAs.

Abstract
Background: Self-expanding devices, such as the Enterprise VRD (EP-VRD) have widely used for stent-assisted coiling treatment in wided-necked aneuryms while some thromboembolic complications were reported due to its incomplete stent apposition (ISA). We report our experiences on the novel Enterprise2 (EP-VRD2) stent in vivo in the treatment of intracranial and cranial cervical junction aneurysms. Methods: Twenty-five consecutive patients with intracranial or cranial cervical junction aneurysms were treated with EP-VRD2 stents retrospectively collected in our institution. We use the ‘jailing' technique in all cases and deployed the stent by using pushing over the outer curve technique. The 3- or 6-monthS follow-up was done regularly by DSA. Results: Twenty-five EP-VRD2 stents were implanted to treat 21 aneurysms at the siphon segment of internal carotid artery (ICA), one at the petrous segment, two at the cervical segment, one at the verteral artery with five accompanied with stenosis. Two patients had kinking during the procedure and were solved by microwire or microcatheter massaging. Four patients with a larger arc angle and a smaller radius of the parent vessel was detected ISA. No patient underwent the ischemic event after the operation. Twenty-three of 25 patients were evaluated after 3- or 6-months by DSA, 22 showed complete occlusion (RROC1), one slight re-stenosis in the follow-up within those five patients with stenosis. A length of 23 mm seemed associated with ISA (p < 0.01). Conclusion: The EP-VRD2 performed well in our small patient series; however, ISA could still occur with a sharp angle of the parent vessel.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Stent-assisted treatment techniques can be an effective treatment option for intracranial aneurysms. The aim of this study was to evaluate the periprocedural feasibility and safety of the new LVIS EVO stent for the treatment of intracranial aneurysms. MATERIALS AND METHODS Patients with intracranial aneurysms treated with the LVIS EVO in 11 European neurovascular centers were retrospectively reviewed. Patient and aneurysm characteristics, procedural parameters, immediate grade of occlusion, and technical and clinical complications were assessed. RESULTS Fifty-seven patients with 59 aneurysms were treated with the LVIS EVO device; 57.6% of the aneurysms were incidental; 15.3% were acutely ruptured; 15.3% were recanalized or residual aneurysms; and 11.9% were treated for symptoms other than acute hemorrhage. The most frequent aneurysm locations were the middle cerebral artery (25.4%) and the anterior communicating artery (22.0%). The rate of immediate successful deployment was 93.2%. In 6.8% (n = 4) of cases, additional in-stent angioplasty was needed. The immediate complete occlusion rate was 54.2%, while there was a residual aneurysm in 35.6% and a residual neck in 10.2%. Periprocedural technical complications occurred in 7/59 treatments (11.9%; the most frequent technical complication [n = 3] was thrombus formation), which all resolved completely without clinical sequelae. Postprocedural neurologic complications occurred after 4/59 treatments (6.8%; 2 transient ischemic attacks, 1 minor stroke, 1 major stroke), of which only 1 persistent complication was directly related to the procedure (minor stroke in the vascular territory distal to the stent). CONCLUSIONS The LVIS EVO stent is a safe, feasible device for the treatment of intracranial aneurysms.

Abstract
Background: Over the years, a variety of intracranial stents have been developed, which has expanded the therapy options available for cerebral aneurysms. The Low profile visible intraluminal support (LVIS) EVO stents are new devices, which officially appeared on the market in 2020. The purpose of the study is to report the initial technical and clinical experience with the new stent in the treatment of intracranial aneurysms. Materials and Methods: Between February and September 2020, 30 patients with 35 intracranial aneurysms (29 unruptured and 6 ruptured) were treated using the LVIS EVO stent in our department. The aneurysms were located within internal carotid artery (ICA) (42.9%), middle cerebral artery (MCA) (31.4%), anterior communicating artery (AComA) (11.4%), basilar artery (BA) (11.4%) and anterior cerebral artery (ACA) (2.9%). Stent-assisted coil embolization was performed in all cases. Results: All stents were deployed successfully in the desired position. Immediate complete occlusion of the treated aneurysms, described as Raymond–Roy occlusion classification (RROC) class 1, was achieved in all cases. No technical complications were observed. One thromboembolic complication occurred in the group of unruptured aneurysms and one patient died due to cerebral edema from aneurysms rupture group. Conclusion: In our observation, the showed a satisfactory safety profile LVIS EVO stents seem to be very flexible, can be safely maneuvered and deployed in tortuous vessels. They showed a good initial occlusion rate when used for treating intracranial aneurysms with SAC (stent-assisted coiling).

Abstract
OBJECTIVE We report the clinical outcomes of stent-assisted coiling for wide-necked intracranial aneurysms using 3 low-profile laser-cut stents and compare the results according to stent type. METHODS All patients treated with stent-assisted coiling for their intracranial aneurysms at our hospital between July 2010 and September 2019 were reviewed. We selected patients with Enterprise, Neuroform EZ, or Neuroform Atlas stents who underwent imaging follow-up and investigated aneurysm and stent features, stent-related complications, recanalization, and retreatment rates. We compared the retreatment risk among the patients treated with the 3 stent types using Kaplan-Meier survival analysis and Cox regression analysis. RESULTS We evaluated 364 consecutive cases (103 Enterprise, 105 Neuroform EZ, and 156 Neuroform Atlas stents). Neuroform Atlas was more frequently used in distal vessels: 8 (7.8%) Enterprise, 2 (1.9%) Neuroform EZ, and 41 (26.3%) Neuroform Atlas cases, respectively. The median follow-up durations were 6.49, 4.91, and 1.24 years for the Enterprise, Neuroform EZ, and Neuroform Atlas cases, respectively, and retreatment was performed in 11 (10.1%), 9 (8.6%), and 6 (3.8%) cases. In the first 2 years of follow-up, the estimated retreatment risk ratios for Neuroform EZ and Neuroform Atlas with Enterprise as reference were 0.63 (95% confidence interval, 0.24-1.65; P = 0.35) and 0.54 (95% confidence interval, 0.18-1.59; P = 0.26), respectively. CONCLUSIONS Neuroform Atlas stents were more frequently deployed in small-caliber vessels compared with the other 2 types of stents. The complication rate and retreatment risk until at least 1 year after the aneurysm treatment appeared to be similar for the 3 stent types.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Stent-assisted coiling is an effective method of treating intracranial aneurysms. The aim of the study was to assess the safety and efficacy of the new Accero stent for the treatment of intracranial aneurysms. MATERIALS AND METHODS It was a retrospective, single-center study. Eighteen unruptured intracranial aneurysms were treated using the stent-assisted coiling method with the Accero stent. Patient demographics, aneurysm characteristics, procedural parameters, grade of occlusion, complications, and clinical results were analyzed. Follow-up magnetic resonance (MR) was performed 6 months after intervention. RESULTS Seventeen patients with 18 incidental unruptured aneurysms were electively treated with coiling and the Accero stent. The aneurysms were located on internal carotid artery (ICA), middle cerebral artery (MCA) and basilar artery (BA). All stents were deployed successfully. Immediate complete occlusion rate Raymond-Roy occlusion classification (RROC) class I was achieved in 13 cases and class II in 4 cases. Complications occurred in 2/17 treatments and included guidewire stent perforation with subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) and stent deformation. Vascular spasm in the subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) patient subsided before discharge. Ninety days after intervention, the modified Rankin Scale (mRS) value was 0. RROC class I was observed in 88.23% of cases in follow-up. CONCLUSION The Accero stent provides excellent support for coil mass. It constitutes an efficacious device with good initial occlusion rate for treating wide-necked unruptured intracranial aneurysms.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Stent-assisted coiling (SAC) of intracranial aneurysms paved the way for endovascular coiling of wide-neck and bifurcation aneurysms, improving rates of aneurysm obliteration and recurrence. In this review, we provide a comprehensive review of the most recent advances related to stent-assisted coiling of intracranial aneurysm. AREAS COVERED The authors have made an attempt to cover the inception, applications, and limitations of SAC of intracranial aneurysms. Special focus is given to 1) the current and recently introduced SAC techniques, 2) most recent advances in device technology, and 3) outcome data for the discussed techniques and devices. The authors also discuss the potential future direction of SAC. EXPERT OPINION technical refinements in the field of SAC should continue to focus on device development and addressing the limitations of SAC, namely aneurysm recurrence and need of antiplatelet agents. Although the recurrence rate of SAC has not been shown to be inferior to flow diverters, the use of intrasaccular and intravascular flow diverters are likely to expand in the future at the expense of SAC.

Abstract
Introduction One of the popular treatment strategies for complex cerebral aneurysms with wide necks or low dome-to-neck ratios is stent-assisted coiling. The most widely used intracranial stents for stent-assisted coiling are Neuroform (NF) and Enterprise (EP) stents. The purposes of this study are to review the recent literature of the past 5 years to compare outcomes between the EP and NF stent-assist coiling systems so as to comment on the safety, efficacy, complications, and recurrence rate of stent-assisted coiling in general. Methods PubMed was used to search for all published literature of NF or EP stent-assisted coiling of unruptured cerebral aneurysms from January 2014 to August 2019 with the search terms of "Enterprise stent-assisted coiling," "Neuroform stent," and "Neuroform vs. Enterprise stent." Results Twenty two publications met the inclusion criteria which encompass 1764 patients and 1873 aneurysms. Out of these 1873 aneurysms, 1007 aneurysms were treated with EP stent and 866 aneurysms were treated with NF stent. The overall outcome was low rates of thromboembolic complications (4.37%) and intracranial hemorrhage (1.13%), low permanent morbidity (1.70%) and mortality (0.40%), and lower rate of recanalization (11%). Data analysis shows an overall higher rate of complication and recurrence of aneurysm and lower overall rate of aneurysmal occlusion in the patients where EP stent was used in comparison to NF stent. However, this difference was not statistically significant. Conclusions The review of two stent-assisted coiling devices using EP and NF stents including 1873 aneurysms in 1764 patients revealed that overall, it is safe and effective with comparable outcomes.

Abstract
PURPOSE Wide-neck aneurysms (WNAs) associated with a dilated parent artery (PA) are not uncommon morphological abnormalities and usually cause inappropriate wall apposition and incomplete neck coverage of a tubular stent in stent-assisted coiling of aneurysms. We aimed to introduce a fusiform-shaped stent (FSS) and test its effectiveness in treating intracranial WNAs associated with a dilated PA using a three-dimensional (3D) model. MATERIALS AND METHODS Two FSS types were designed with the middle one-third segment dilated by 10% (FSS10) and 20% (FSS20) and were compared with the tubular-shaped stent (TSS). A patient-specific 3D WNA model was prototyped and produced, and in vitro stent placement was performed. Angiographic images of the three stent types were analyzed and compared using predetermined parameters. RESULTS The stent lumens were significantly larger in FSS10 and FSS20 than in TSS in the middle segments (P=0.046), particularly FSS20 (P=0.018). The non-covered area at the ostium tended to be smaller in FSS10 and FSS20 than in TSS, but the difference was not significant (P>0.05). The stent length was significantly longer in FSS10 and FSS20 than in TSS. The stent cell size was significantly larger in FSS than in TSS. CONCLUSION Better vessel wall apposition and aneurysmal neck coverage was observed for FSS than for TSS. No significant difference was observed between FSS10 and FSS20.
