Abstract
Fire and explosion hazards pose significant safety concerns in the processing and storage of biomass particles, warranting the safe utilization of these particles. This study employed scanning electron microscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, and cone calorimetry to investigate the thermal hazards and toxicity of raw biomass particles from four prevalent agricultural crops in China: rice, sorghum, corn, and reed. Among the samples, corn exhibited the highest heat output of 8006.82 J/g throughout the thermal decomposition process. The quantitative evaluation of critical heat flux, heat release rate intensity, fire growth rate index (FIGRA), post-ignition fire acceleration (PIFA) and flashover potential (X) revealed a substantial fire risk inherent to all the examined straw samples. Notably, corn displayed the lowest FIGRA value of 8.30 kW/m2 s, while rice demonstrated the minimum PIFA value of 16.11 kW/m2 s. Moreover, the X values for all four biomass particle types exceeded 10 under varying external heat flux levels, indicating their high propensity for fire hazards. Analysis of CO and CO2 emissions during combustion showed all four biomass samples exhibited high concentrations throughout, from the initial stages to the end. The present study offers crucial insights for formulating comprehensive fire safety guidelines tailored to the storage and processing of biomass particles.

Abstract
Cattle manure, is a reservoir of antimicrobial resistance genes, but the mechanisms by which they migrate from farm to table remain obscure. Here, we chose Agaricus bisporus as a model vegetable to examine such migration and characterized the resistome in 112 metagenomes covering samples from raw manure, composting substrates, rhizosphere, and surfaces of mushrooms. A total of 1864 resistance genes, representing 113 unique mechanisms of resistance, were identified. Monensin treatment on beef specifically enriched fecal resistance genes within Moraxellaceae, but this effect did not persist in downstream mushrooms. Interestingly, we found that resistance genes were significantly more enriched on mushroom surfaces when cultivated with corn-based compost compared to rice and wheat, likely a result of the disproportional propagation of Pseudomonadaceae and varied ability of lateral gene transfer. Importantly, our sequence alignment together with genome-centric analysis observed that 89 resistance genes, mainly conferring resistance to drug and biocide (20.22%) and mercury (19.10%), were shared across all types of samples, indicating an efficient transmission of resistance in food production. Moreover, co-occurrence of genes conferring resistance to different compounds frequently occurred in parallel with microbial migration. Together, we present the influences of antibiotic treatment and straw-based composting on resistome along the mushroom production chain (from manure to straw-based compost, rhizosphere of compost cultivated mushroom and surface of mushroom) and highlighted the risks of resistance genes migration.

Abstract
Developing advanced carbon materials by utilizing biomass waste has attracted much attention. However, porous carbon electrodes based on the electronic-double-layer-capacitor (EDLC) charge storage mechanism generally presents unsatisfactory capacitance and energy density. Herein, an N-doped carbon material (RSM-0.33-550) was prepared by directly pyrolyzing reed straw and melamine. The micro- and meso-porous structure and the rich active nitrogen functional group offered more ion transfer and faradaic capacitance. X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) measurements were used to characterize the biomass-derived carbon materials. The prepared RSM-0.33-550 possessed an N content of 6.02% and a specific surface area of 547.1 m2 g-1. Compared with the RSM-0-550 without melamine addition, the RSM-0.33-550 possessed a higher content of active nitrogen (pyridinic-N) in the carbon network, thus presenting an increased number of active sites for charge storage. As the anode for supercapacitors (SCs) in 6 M KOH, RSM-0.33-550 exhibited a capacitance of 202.8 F g-1 at a current density of 1 A g-1. At a higher current density of 20 A g-1, it still retained a capacitance of 158 F g-1. Notably, it delivered excellent stability with capacity retention of 96.3% at 20 A g-1 after 5000 cycles. This work not only offers a new electrode material for SCs, but also gives a new insight into rationally utilizing biomass waste for energy storage.

Abstract
The open-air burning of the massive generated crop straw in rural areas has been a troubling problem in China in recent decades, and the utilization and valorization of crop straw have provided promising solutions to it. However, due to the limitations in straw resources, economic, social, and technological conditions, different regions vary greatly with each other in the technological pathways and performance of straw utilization. By taking ten counties and districts of Xinyang City in Henan Province of China as examples, it analyzed the spatial distribution of straw yields and the adoption of five pathways of crop straw utilization in Xinyang City, and summarized three typical combination modes. In addition, it also provided the integrated model of FBWM-TOPSIS-PROMETHEE to evaluate the performance of crop straw utilization in the ten counties and districts, to provide local decision-makers with the pathways for promoting the utilization and valorization of crop straw. The results indicated that: (1) The endowment of straw resources and the straw utilization pathways in the ten counties and districts of Xinyang City vary greatly with each other; (2) Returning crop straw to the fields as fertilizer after being crushed is the mainstream mode of resource utilization of crop straw, although five technological modes have been adopted in Xinyang City; (3) Among the 10 counties, Huaibin and Xixian have the best performance of resource utilization of crop straw, and Shangcheng is the worst performer.

Abstract
Agaricus bisporus growth alters the lignocellulosic composition and structure of compost. However, it is difficult to differentiate the enzyme activities of A. bisporus mycelia from the wider microbial community owing to the complication of completely speareting the mycelia from compost cultures. Macrogenomics analysis was employed in this study to examine the fermentation substrate of A. bisporus before and after mycelial growth, and the molecular mechanism of substrate utilization by A. bisporus mycelia was elucidated from the perspective of microbial communities and CAZymes in the substrate. The results showed that the relative abundance of A. bisporus mycelia increased by 77.57-fold after mycelial colonization, the laccase content was significantly increased and the lignin content was significantly decreased. Analysis of the CAZymes showed that AA10 family was extremely differentiated. Laccase-producing strains associated with AA10 family were mostly bacteria belonging to Thermobifida and Thermostaphylospora, suggesting that these bacteria may play a synergistic role in lignin decomposition along with A. bisporus mycelia. These findings provide preliminary evidence for the molecular mechanism of compost utilization by A. bisporus mycelia and offer a reference for the development and utilization of strains related to lignocellulose degradation.

Abstract
Background Cellulose degradation can determine mycelial growth rate and affect yield during the growth of Flammulina filiformis. The degradation of cellulose requires the joint action of a variety of cellulases, and some cellulase-related genes have been detected in mushrooms. However, little is known about the transcriptional regulatory mechanisms of cellulose degradation. Results In this study, FfMYB15 that may regulate the expression of cellulase gene FfCEL6B in F. filiformis was identified. RNA interference (RNAi) showed that FfCEL6B positively regulated mycelial growth. Gene expression analyses indicated that the expression patterns of FfCEL6B and FfMYB15 in mycelia cultured on the 0.9% cellulose medium for different times were similar with a correlation coefficient of 0.953. Subcellular localization and transcriptional activity analyses implied that FfMYB15 was located in the nucleus and was a transcriptional activator. Electrophoretic mobility shift assay (EMSA) and dual-luciferase assays demonstrated that FfMYB15 could bind and activate FfCEL6B promoter by recognizing MYB cis-acting element. Conclusions This study indicated that FfCEL6B played an active role in mycelial growth of F. filiformis and was regulated by FfMYB15. Abstract
China is one of the largest producers and exporters of wild edible fungi in the world. Cultivation mushroom production value ranks within the top five after grain, vegetable, fruit, and edible oil plantation, greater than sugar, cotton, and tobacco business. More than 40 new varieties of high market value mushrooms from our group were highlighted in this article. Mushroom cultivations have a high impact on China's poverty alleviation program, with earnings at least ten times higher than rice and corn. The products were exported to 137 countries and regions, mainly to Japan, South Korea, ASEAN, the USA, and the European Union, among these, Japan is the biggest import market for cultivated mushrooms from China. Rapid development in the market and an increased demand for edible fungi generally enhance the economy of domestic edible fungi. We are the leading research group in logical farm design that is HACCP-certified to reduce the cost of investment for agriculture, thus broadening the consumption market of edible mushrooms and forming a demand-oriented leading industry for the promotion of human health. The enterprise needs to re-examine the operation plan and the strategic thinking to improve the fundamental drivers based on the available resources of the locality. Mushrooms growing intergrate with upgraded technologies and equipment to become smart agriculture which have smart production and intelligent factories. The purpose of suitable products will not change: delicious, nutritious, healthy, and modern.
