Abstract
Aggregation behavior of an amphiphilic diblock copolymer poly(lauryl acrylate)-block-poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PLA-b-PNIPAM) on neutral aqueous subphases with different salt species and salt concentrations, as well as the structures of its Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films, were systematically studied. The presence of NaCl or Na2SO4 in subphases makes PNIPAM chains shrink on the water surface and reduce their solubility underwater. On the contrary, the presence of NaNO3 or NaSCN makes PNIPAM chains more stretched on water and increase their solubility underwater, whose stretch degree and solubility both increase with the increase of salt concentration. Solubility of PNIPAM chains in the above subphase solutions is ranked as NaSCN ≫ NaNO3 > pure H2O > NaCl ≈ Na2SO4, which is almost consistent with the Hofmeister series except for the latter two close cases. All the initial LB films of PLA-b-PNIPAM exhibit tiny isolated circular micelles. Upon compression, the LB films in the case of pure H2O exhibit the dense mixed structures of circular micelles and wormlike aggregates. The formation of wormlike aggregates is due to connection of some adjoining cores, which is less possible in other subphase cases because of the conformation difference of PNIPAM chains.

Abstract
Nerve fibers and vessels play important roles in bone formation, and inadequate innervation in the bone defect area can delay the regeneration process. However, there are few studies aiming to promote innervation to engineer bone formation. Here, we report the development of an injectable thermoresponsive mesoporous silica nanoparticle (MSN)-embedded core-shell structured poly(ethylene glycol)-b-poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid)-b-poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PEG-PLGA-PNIPAM) hydrogel for localized and long-term co-delivery of microRNA-222 and aspirin (ASP) (miR222/MSN/ASP hydrogel). ASP was found to stimulate bone formation as previously reported, and miR222 induced human bone mesenchymal stem cell differentiation into neural-like cells through Wnt/β-catenin/Nemo-like kinase signaling. In a rat mandibular bone defect, injection of the co-delivered MSN hydrogel resulted in neurogenesis and enhanced bone formation, indicating that the present injectable miR222- and ASP-co-delivering colloidal hydrogel is a promising material for innervated bone tissue engineering.

Abstract
In this study, seven thermoresponsive methacrylate terpolymers with the same molar mass (MM) and composition but various architectures were successfully synthesized using group transfer polymerization (GTP). These terpolymers were based on tri(ethylene glycol) methyl ether methacrylate (TEGMA, A unit), n-butyl methacrylate (BuMA, B unit), and 2-(dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate (DMAEMA, C unit). Along with the more common ABC, ACB, BAC, and statistical architectures, three diblock terpolymers were also synthesized and investigated for the first time, namely (AB)C, A(BC), and B(AC); where the units in the brackets are randomly copolymerized. Two BC diblock copolymers were also synthesized for comparison. Their hydrodynamic diameters and their effective pKas were determined by dynamic light scattering (DLS) and hydrogen ion titrations, respectively. The self-assembly behavior of the copolymers was also visualized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Both dilute and concentrated aqueous copolymer solutions were extensively studied by visual tests and their cloud points (CP) and gel points were determined. It is proven that the aqueous solution properties of the copolymers, with specific interest in their thermoresponsive properties, are influenced by the architecture, with the ABC and A(BC) ones to show clear sol-gel transition.
