Abstract
BACKGROUND The presence of a lymphoma associated with a solid synchronous neoplasm or collision neoplasm has been rarely in the literature, and a detailed characterization of these cases is lacking to date. OBJECTIVE To describe the main clinicopathological features of synchronous/collision tumors. METHODS A systematic search in PubMed, Scielo, and Virtual Health Library literature databases for cases or case series of synchronous or collision lymphoma and other solid neoplasms reported up to March 2021 was performed. Three reviewers independently screened the literature, extracted data, and assessed the quality of the included studies. The systematic review was performed following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Meta-Analyses guidelines. RESULTS Mean age of patients was 62.9 years (52.9% men). A total of 308 cases were included (62% synchronous and 38% collision). The most frequent location of both synchronous and collision tumors was the gastrointestinal tract with the most common solid neoplasm being adenocarcinoma, and the most frequent lymphoma diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (21.7%) and mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma (20.4%). Of the total number of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphomas and gastric adenocarcinomas, the presence of Helicobacter pylori infection was documented in 47.3% of them. Only 2% of all cases had a previous history of lymphoma. Thus, in most cases (98%), lymphoma was discovery incidentally. In addition, nodal lymphoma was associated with metastasis in 29 (9.4%) cases as collision tumor, most commonly (90%) in locoregional lymph nodes of the solid neoplasm. CONCLUSIONS The frequent association of some type of B-cell lymphoma and adenocarcinoma in synchronous/collision tumors of the gastrointestinal tract points to common pathogenic mechanisms in both neoplasia, particularly related to chronic inflammation in this location. In most cases, lymphoma identified in locoregional lymph nodes or distant of a carcinoma seems to represent an incidental finding during the carcinoma diagnostic/therapeutic approach. A synergy between carcinoma and lymphoma (involving inflammation and immunosuppression mechanisms) may favor tumor progression and dissemination. A better understating of the interactions lymphoma/carcinoma in the setting of synchronous/collision tumors may help to improve patient management and prognosis.

Abstract
Purpose Describe a case of intraocular plasmacytoma in a patient with multiple myeloma successfully treated with photon irradiation. Observations A 61-year-old man with a history of relapsing/refractory multiple myeloma and left frontal bone plasmacytoma treated with monthly belantamab mafodotin salvage chemotherapy developed bilateral treatment-related corneal keratopathy. An iris mass was incidentally noted in the right eye during a follow-up examination. The mass was amelanotic with diffuse intrinsic vasculature involving the pupillary margin from 1:30 to 10:30. Fundus examination showed an irregularly shaped amelanotic superotemporal scleral lesion in the right eye and two smaller amelanotic scleral lesions in the left eye. Given known systemic multiple myeloma and history of left frontal bone plasmacytoma, a presumed diagnosis of iris and scleral plasmacytoma was made. Due to rapid progression of the iris plasmacytoma despite systemic chemotherapy, the patient was treated with 20 Gy photon irradiation to the anterior and posterior segments of both eyes. One month after photon irradiation, there was complete regression of the iris plasmacytoma, and the scleral lesions in both eyes also appeared to be regressing despite systemic progression of multiple myeloma. Conclusions and importance Intraocular plasmacytoma is rare and can occur in isolation but typically occurs as a manifestation of systemic multiple myeloma. Intraocular plasmacytoma can be successfully treated with photon irradiation in patients with multiple myeloma who progress on systemic chemotherapy.

Abstract
Collision carcinoma is a rare malignancy that generally occurs in cervical, esophageal, pulmonary, and squamous cell cancers. Few studies have been reported involving endometrial adenocarcinoma and fallopian tube carcinoma. We reported the case of a 58-year-old woman who presented because of irregular vaginal bleeding for more than 1 month. Cervical biopsy suggested moderately differentiated cervical adenocarcinoma, and the patient underwent radical hysterectomy under general anesthesia. However, postoperative pathology and immunohistochemical results indicated a collision tumor comprising endometrial adenocarcinoma (grade I) and primary serous fallopian tube carcinoma. According to the treatment principle of multiple primary tumors, a regimen of paclitaxel combined with carboplatin was administered. The patient also underwent local pelvic radiotherapy to treat lymph node metastasis. One month later, the patient developed brain metastases and died.

Abstract
Background Solitary extramedullary plasmacytoma (SEP) is a localised proliferation of monoclonal plasma cells involving soft tissue with no or minimal bone marrow involvement and no other systemic evidence of multiple myeloma. Intraocular involvement is exceedingly rare. Case presentation We report a 78-year-old man who was referred with glaucoma in the right eye. He subsequently developed anterior chamber (AC) inflammation and refractory glaucoma then dense vitritis. A vitrectomy was performed with the biopsy revealing numerous plasma cells with atypical findings. In conjunction with the flow cytometry results, and a systemic work up excluding multiple myeloma, a diagnosis of SEP was made. The patient was treated with ocular external beam radiotherapy with resolution of the intraocular inflammation and control of the intraocular pressure. He remains well with no local recurrence and no development of multiple myeloma over a follow up period of 2.5 years. Conclusions This is the first case report of SEP presenting as intraocular inflammation without a uveal tract mass.

Abstract
Primary hepatic adenosquamous carcinoma (ASC) is an extremely rare primary hepatic malignant tumor, which is easily misdiagnosed as hepatocellular carcinoma before surgery. It has both the histologic features-adenocarcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma. Primary hepatic ASC incidence rate in intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma is 2% to 3%.[1] Patients with hepatic ASC may experience recurrence or metastasis after surgery. The epidemiology, clinical diagnosis, etiology, and treatment of the disease remain challenging. It is important to improve the recognition of hepatic ASC because of its bad prognosis. Here, we report a man who had complained of an upper stomachache for 2 months and was diagnosed with primary hepatic ASC by histology and immunohistochemistry (IHC) after laparoscopic hepatectomy. The patient remained asymptomatic and survived well for 2 years post surgery and long-term follow-up was continued till now. In addition, we offer a brief discussion about the histopathological features, clinical behavior, and treatment of hepatic ASC and review the relevant literature.

Abstract
Simple Summary Uveal melanoma (UM) is a rare aggressive eye cancer. Although treatment of the eye tumour is successful, about 50% of UM patients develop a relapse of their cancer in the liver. At present, such advanced disease is not curable. A better understanding of the metastatic UM (mUM) in the liver is essential to improve patient survival. This study examines both the response of immune cells within the liver to the UM secondaries (metastases), as well as the expression of various proteins by the UM cells. Our study demonstrates that there is a limited immune response to the mUM, but reveals that a certain type of reactive immune cell: a protumourigenic subset of macrophage is dominant within the mUM. Our research also reveals novel proteins within the mUM, which are specific to these cells and therefore may be targetable in future therapies. Abstract Metastatic uveal melanoma (mUM) to the liver is incurable. Transcriptome profiling of 40 formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded mUM liver resections and 6 control liver specimens was undertaken. mUMs were assessed for morphology, nuclear BAP1 (nBAP1) expression, and their tumour microenvironments (TME) using an “immunoscore” (absent/altered/high) for tumour-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) and macrophages (TAMs). Transcriptomes were compared between mUM and control liver; intersegmental and intratumoural analyses were also undertaken. Most mUM were epithelioid cell-type (75%), amelanotic (55%), and nBAP1-ve (70%). They had intermediate (68%) or absent (15%) immunoscores for TILs and intermediate (53%) or high (45%) immunoscores for TAMs. M2-TAMs were dominant in the mUM-TME, with upregulated expression of ANXA1, CD74, CXCR4, MIF, STAT3, PLA2G6, and TGFB1. Compared to control liver, mUM showed significant (p < 0.01) upregulation of 10 genes: DUSP4, PRAME, CD44, IRF4/MUM1, BCL2, CD146/MCAM/MUC18, IGF1R, PNMA1, MFGE8/lactadherin, and LGALS3/Galectin-3. Protein expression of DUSP4, CD44, IRF4, BCL-2, CD146, and IGF1R was validated in all mUMs, whereas protein expression of PRAME was validated in 10% cases; LGALS3 stained TAMs, and MFGEF8 highlighted bile ducts only. Intersegmental mUMs show differing transcriptomes, whereas those within a single mUM were similar. Our results show that M2-TAMs dominate mUM-TME with upregulation of genes contributing to immunosuppression. mUM significantly overexpress genes with targetable signalling pathways, and yet these may differ between intersegmental lesions.

Abstract
Purpose: We report a case of multiple extramedullary plasmacytoma (EMP) of the choroid and conjunctiva as a sign of multiple myeloma (MM) relapse. Methods: An observational case report with clinicopathologic correlation is presented. Results: A 45-year-old man with a 2.5-year history of MM presented with left eye pain. Examination revealed a conjunctival nodule and choroidal infiltrate in the left eye. Excisional biopsy demonstrated plasmacytoma of the conjunctiva and choroid. Despite radiotherapy and chemotherapy, multiple EMP recurred and the patient died 8 months after initial presentation. Conclusions: Multiple EMP of the choroid and conjunctiva has a poor prognosis and can present as a sign of MM relapse. Our imaging demonstrates the clinical manifestations of this tumor and can aid future diagnoses. Our radiation dose (20 Gy) was inadequate, which is an important reportable factor for future patients.

Abstract
Ocular adnexal lymphoma and intraocular lymphoma, whether occurring simultaneously or sequentially, are often similar to associated systemic lymphoma. We describe 4 cases of ocular adnexal lymphoma or intraocular lymphoma with a dissimilar systemic lymphoma. Two of the cases represent Richter transformation of chronic lymphocytic leukemia/small-cell lymphoma into diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. In the third patient, conjunctival extranodal marginal zone lymphoma developed following treatment for Hodgkin lymphoma. The fourth patient had a remote history of systemic diffuse large B-cell lymphoma with a subsequent diagnosis of orbital extranodal marginal zone lymphoma. Clinical-pathological correlation is reported for all cases in addition to pertinent review of the literature.

Abstract
Primary vitreoretinal lymphoma (PVRL), as a subset of primary central nervous system lymphoma (PCNSL), is a rare and fatal ocular malignancy. Most PVRL masquerades as chronic posterior uveitis, which makes the clinical diagnosis challenging. Vitreous cells, subretinal lesions and imaging techniques are essential for clinical diagnosis. Importantly, cytopathology/histopathology identification of malignant cells is the gold standard for the diagnosis of PVRL. In addition, molecular detection of immunoglobulin heavy chain (IgH) or T cell receptor (TCR) gene rearrangements, immunophenotyping for cell markers, and cytokine analysis of interleukine-10 elevation are often used as adjunct procedures. Current management of PVRL involves local radiation, intravitreal chemotherapy (methotrexate and rituximab), with or without systemic chemotherapy depending on the involvement of non-ocular tissues. In cases with concomitant PCNSL, systemic high-dose methotrexate/rituximab based therapy in conjunction with local therapy, whole brain radiotherapy and/or autologous stem cell transplantation is considered. Although PVRL normally responds well to initial treatment, high rates of relapse and CNS involvement usually lead to poor prognosis and limited survival. A professional team of medical experts in ophthalmologists, ocular pathologists, neuro-oncologists and hemato-oncologists is essential for optimizing patient management.

Abstract
AIM: To summarize the clinicopathologic features, pathological diagnosis, immunophenotype and differential diagnosis of esophageal collision carcinoma.
METHODS: The clinical and pathological data for five patients with pathologically confirmed esophageal collision carcinoma and 1412 patients with esophageal carcinoma were studied retrospectively against the background of the literature. The data of those patients were collected from the Central Hospital of Luohe and the Fifth People's Hospital of Luohe between January 2008 and December 2015.
RESULTS: Esophageal collision carcinoma is a rare combination of tumor types, more common in males than in females. The peak onset age is more than 65 years. It is found frequently in the middle and lower segments of the esophagus and the esophagogastric junction. Squamous cell carcinoma collided with adenocarcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma collided with small cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma collided with leiomyosarcoma are the histopathological characteristics of those five cases. Esophageal collision carcinoma represents a coexistence of two adjacent but histologically different malignant neoplasms without histological admixture in an organ. Squamous cell carcinoma collided with adenocarcinoma is the most common type of esophageal collision carcinoma.
CONCLUSION: Esophageal collision carcinoma is a rare combination of tumor types, without special clinical features, and it is difficult to diagnose before operation. Pathological findings are the only way to make a correct diagnosis after operation. Therefore, fully sampling the tissues should be performed to guide reasonable radiotherapy or chemoradiotherapy and avoid missed diagnosis.

Abstract
PURPOSE To describe the clinical and histopathologic features of choroidal lymphoma (CL) and its association with systemic lymphoma. DESIGN Observational case series. PARTICIPANTS Fifty-nine patients (73 eyes) with CL. METHODS Retrospective chart review. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES Clinical features, histopathology, and systemic lymphoma. RESULTS Of 59 patients with CL, systemic lymphoma was absent in 41 (primary CL; 69%) and present in 18 (secondary CL; 31%). Of 18 patients with systemic lymphoma at presentation, 14 (78%) had known systemic lymphoma and 4 (22%) were diagnosed with systemic lymphoma shortly after presentation. The most common types of systemic lymphoma in patients with secondary CL were diffuse large cell lymphoma (n = 5, 28%), chronic lymphocytic leukemia/lymphoma (n = 4, 22%), multiple myeloma (n = 2, 11%), Waldenstrom's macroglobulinemia (n = 2, 11%), extranodal marginal zone lymphoma (n = 2, 11%), plasmablastic lymphoma (n = 1, 6%), and unspecified non-Hodgkin lymphoma (n = 2, 11%). Compared with patients with primary CL, patients with secondary CL had a shorter mean duration of ocular symptoms (5 vs. 17 months), had less often received steroids before referral (11% vs. 46%), and were more likely to have bilateral ocular involvement (33% vs. 20%). Eyes with secondary CL had a higher rate of poor vision (≤20/200) (46% vs. 12%), iris (20% vs. 4%) or ciliary body (30% vs. 8%) lymphoma, episcleral vascular congestion (40% vs. 16%), anterior chamber reaction (30% vs. 14%), hyphema (15% vs. 0%), vitreous cellular infiltration (30% vs. 4%), and severe media haziness (20% vs. 0%). Secondary CL was morphologically more high grade (50% diffuse large cell lymphoma) compared with primary CL (37% low-grade non-Hodgkin lymphoma, 27% extranodal marginal zone lymphoma). None of the 33 patients with primary CL and subsequent follow-up developed systemic lymphoma during a mean follow-up of 50 months (median, 35 months; range, 2-231 months). CONCLUSIONS Secondary CL is morphologically high grade and associated with more severe ocular findings. Patients with CL and no known systemic lymphoma at presentation should undergo systemic evaluation to rule out the possibility of undiagnosed concurrent systemic lymphoma. However, none of the patients with primary CL in our study had late development of systemic lymphoma.
