Abstract
Lymphoid malignancies are a broad and heterogeneous group of neoplasms. In the past decade, the genetic landscape of these tumors has been explored and cataloged in fine detail offering a glimpse into the mechanisms of lymphomagenesis and new opportunities to translate these findings into patient management. A myriad of studies have demonstrated both distinctive and overlapping molecular and chromosomal abnormalities that have influenced the diagnosis and classification of lymphoma, disease prognosis, and treatment selection.

Abstract
Large B-cell lymphoma with IRF4 rearrangement (LBCL-IRF4) is a rare lymphoid neoplasm, usually occurring in the pediatric/young-adult age. Despite this, subsets of cases occur in elderly patients and express CD5, possibly entering the differential diagnosis with adult aggressive lymphomas, such as blastoid/pleomorphic mantle cell lymphoma (MCL-B/P). To better characterize the clinical-pathological features and differential diagnosis of LBCL-IRF4, we conducted a multi-centric study on 12 cases, focusing on CD5, Cyclin D1, and SOX11 expression. While most cases had typical presentation, adult-to-elderly age at diagnosis and unusual anatomic locations were reported in 3/12 (25.0%) and 2/12 (16.7%) patients, respectively. Histologically, CD5 was positive in 4/12 (33.3%) cases, Cyclin D1 was invariably negative, and SOX11 was weakly/partially expressed in 1/12 (8.3%) case. In conclusion, LBCL-IRF4 can have unconventional clinical presentations that may challenge its recognition. Although CD5 is frequently expressed, negativity for Cyclin D1 and SOX11 contributes to the differential diagnosis with MCL-B/P.

Abstract
Pediatric-type follicular lymphoma (PTFL) is a rare pediatric-type indolent B-cell lymphoma that clinicopathologically differs from adult lymphoma. Accurate diagnosis of PTFL, which is often challenging, is essential to avoid missed diagnosis, misdiagnosis, and overtreatment. To improve our understanding of PTFL, clinicopathological features, differential diagnosis, and molecular mutation characteristics of four patients of PTFL were analyzed using hematoxylin and eosin staining, immunohistochemistry, polymerase chain reaction, fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), and next-generation sequencing (NGS). A relevant literature review was also performed. All four PTFL patients were male, with ages of 6, 18, 13, and 15 years, and had St. Jude stage I or III. Microscopic results showed that the structure of the lymph nodes was destroyed; the tumor follicles were enlarged and irregular; medium-large blastoid cells with a consistent shape were visible in tumor follicles, and the nucleus was round or oval; and the "starry sky" pattern was easily observed. Tumor cells expressed CD20, PAX-5, BCL6, and CD10. None of the tumor cells expressed BCL2, CD3, CD5, MUM1, and CyclinD1. CD21 showed dilated growth of a follicular dendritic cell network in tumor follicles. EBER genes were negative in all cases. FISH testing also showed negative BCL2 gene breaks and IRF4 gene breaks in all cases. NGS detected 12 related mutant genes, including KMT2D, CD79B, GNA13, MYD88, PCLO, TCF3, IRF8, MAP2K1, FOXO1, POLE, INPP5D, and FAT4. Two of the four patients had an IRF8 gene mutation, and one patient had a dual mutation of the MAP2K1 gene. Our study revealed the unique clinicopathological features and molecular mutational characteristics of PTFL, consolidated our understanding of PTFL, and identified other rare mutant genes, which may further contribute to the study of the molecular mechanism and differential diagnosis of PTFL.

Abstract
Follicular lymphoma (FL) is a lymphoid neoplasm composed of follicle center (germinal center) B cells, with varying proportions of centrocytes and centroblasts, that usually has a predominantly follicular architectural pattern. Over the past decade, our understanding of FL has evolved significantly, with new recognition of several recently defined FL variants characterized by distinct clinical presentations, behaviors, genetic alterations, and biology. This manuscript aims to review the heterogeneity of FL and its variants, to provide an updated guide on their diagnosis and classification, and to describe how approaches to the histologic subclassification of classic FL have evolved in current classification schemes.

Abstract
The conceptual description of Follicular lymphoma (FL) in the 5th edition of the World Health Organization (WHO) classification of haematolymphoid tumors (WHO-HAEM5) has undergone significant revision. The vast majority of FL (85%) with a follicular growth pattern are composed of centrocytes and centroblasts, harbor the t(14;18)(q32;q21) translocation and are now termed classic FL (cFL). They are set apart from three related subtypes, FL with predominantly follicular growth pattern, FL with unusual cytological features (uFL) and follicular large B-cell lymphoma (FLBCL). In contrast to the revised 4th edition of the WHO classification of haematolymphoid tumors (WHO-HAEM4R), grading of cFL is no longer mandatory. FL with a predominantly diffuse growth pattern had been previously recognized in WHO-HAEM4R. It frequently occurs as a large tumor in the inguinal region and is associated with CD23 expression. An absence of the IGH::BCL2 fusion and frequent STAT6 mutations along with 1p36 deletion or TNFRSF14 mutation is typical. The newly introduced subtype of uFL includes two subsets that significantly diverge from cFL: one with "blastoid" and one with "large centrocyte" variant cytological features. uFL more frequently displays variant immunophenotypic and genotypic features. FLBCL is largely identical to WHO-HAEM4R FL grade 3B and renaming was done for reasons of consistency throughout the classification. In-situ follicular B-cell neoplasm, pediatric-type FL, duodenal-type FL and primary cutaneous follicle center lymphoma are categorized as discrete entities. In addition, novel findings concerning underlying biological mechanisms in the pathogenesis of early and systemic follicular lymphoma will be presented.

Abstract
Follicular lymphoid hyperplasia induced by dasatinib is an entity recently described. It is sometimes difficult to rule out the diagnostic of small B-cell lymphoma. Usually, the node is swollen, with follicular architecture conserved, composed by germinal centers with variable size and shape, with a hight number of mitoses and tingible bodies macrophages inside. Follicular lymphoid hyperplasia is isolated or associated with multiple reactive patterns. The immunohistochemical profil of germinal centers is CD20+, CD10+, BCL6+, BCL2-. Swollen node disappears in a short time after dasatinib discontinuation. Clinicians and pathologists need to be aware of this entity, so as not to avoid mistakenly suspect lymphoma when lymphadenopathy occurs in a patient with chronic myeloid leukemia treated with dasatinib.

Abstract
Pediatric-type follicular lymphoma is an uncommon and newly recognized entity of lymphoid neoplasm commonly encountered in the young population. Despite its indolent clinical course and localized nodal involvement, it has been characterized by its high-grade histopathological features. The overlapping features between this disease and several entities have made approaching this unique entity significantly challenging, with all such features being reflected in the strict diagnostic criteria highlighted by the WHO 2016 lymphoid malignancy classification. Despite its characteristic high-grade histology, its cure rates have remained high, with relapse and transformation rarely occurring. Interestingly, several cases have achieved remission following nodal disease resection, possibly eliminating the need for chemotherapy and radiation and preventing long-term morbidities from later approaches in disease survivors.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Pediatric-type follicular lymphoma (PTFL) is a rare and recently recognized subtype of nodal follicular B-cell lymphoma. While significant recent progress has been made in understanding the morphologic, immunophenotypic, and molecular findings, there are only rare case reports describing the cytomorphologic features of PTFL. MATERIALS AND METHODS Four cases of PTFL initially evaluated on fine needle aspiration (FNA) biopsy were retrieved from our institutions' databases. The cytologic and subsequent surgical excision specimens were compared in terms of cytology, histology, immunophenotype, and molecular findings. RESULTS A constellation of cytologic features for PTFL are able to distinguish it from other cytomorphologic entities in the differential including: 1) the presence of large blastoid cells with fine chromatin and irregular nuclear membranes, 2) small/intermediate-sized lymphocytes with subtle nuclear membrane irregularities, 3) near complete absence of cytoplasmic vacuoles in lymphoid cells, 4) tingible body macrophages, 5) mitotic figures, 6) absence of a diffuse large cell component, 7) and no significant plasma cell population. CONCLUSIONS We present four cases of PTFL initially evaluated on FNA biopsy and define the cytomorphologic features of PTFL. FNA biopsy is presented as a practical tool for initial evaluation of this rare entity as part of a multimodal diagnostic approach, for which increased awareness among cytopathologists can ensure the appropriate triage of specimen studies necessary for the diagnosis. Additionally, we comprehensively review the current literature on PTFL and discuss the differential diagnosis on cytology, including potential pitfalls.

Abstract
In the 5th edition of the World Health Organization (WHO) Classification of Head and Neck Tumours, the discussion of hematolymphoid proliferations is substantially reorganized and expanded in comparison to the prior edition. The 5th edition includes, in addition to hematolymphoid neoplasms, reactive lymphoid proliferations. Much more information on hematolymphoid proliferations that commonly affect cervical lymph nodes, in addition to those affecting extranodal sites in the head and neck, is included. For the first time, there are dedicated sections on multiple entities, including recently described lymphoproliferative disorders such as EBV+ mucocutaneous ulcer and pediatric-type follicular lymphoma, and several types of histiocytic neoplasms. Tremendous advances have been made in understanding the genetic features that underlie the pathogenesis of hematolymphoid neoplasms, and these have been incorporated into the WHO Classification.

Abstract
Non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) are common malignancies in children. Available data on clinico-pathological aspects of pediatric NHL in developping countries are limited and diagnostic approach appears more delicate with absence of molecular studies. The objectives of our study are: analyzing the pathological spectrum of NHL among children and highlighting challenges in the diagnosis including: limited biopsic material; unususal subtyptes, age group, or localization. We retrospectively analyzed clinico pathological characteristics of 101 NHL’s cases among children diagnosed in the Pediatric’s pathology unit over a period of 4 years There were 78 (77.2%) male and 23 (22.8%) female. The median age was 7.2 years. The most common histologic subtypes of NHL were Burkitt lymphoma in 65 patients (64.4% ); followed by lymphoblastic lymphoma in 22 patients, large B-cell lymphoma in 9 patients ( 8.9%); anaplastic T cell lymphoma in 3 patients; NOS mature T cell lymphoma and pediatric type follicular lympoma in 1 patient each. In conclusion, this study Morocco illustrates the pattern of distribution of NHL and emphasizes challenges in the diagnosis of these neoplasms.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Pediatric-type follicular lymphoma (PTFL) is a unique pathological type in the 4th edition of hematopoiesis and lymphoid tissue tumor classification revised by World Health Organization. It is unique in clinical practice and seldom seen in adult. PTFL mainly occurs in the head and neck lymph nodes. Most of the cases are short of fever, night sweat, weight loss, and other B symptoms which substitute for lymphadenopathy as the main symptom. PTFL can be disposed of surgical resection and it can achieve long-term tumor-free survival, and it has an excellent outcome.
CASE SUMMARY Two cases of PTFL were reported and their clinicopathological features, differential diagnosis, therapy and prognosis were discussed. PTFL showed gray-brown tough texture in general performance. The histological manifestations of PTFL were similar to that of adult-follicular lymphoma (FL). Under low power microscope, the structure of lymph nodes was destroyed in different degree, the follicles were closely arranged, expanded and irregular, and the mantle zone became thin or disappeared. In addition, the “starry sky phenomenon” could be seen. At high magnification, the follicles were mainly composed of single medium-sized central cells, and some of them mainly consisted of centroblastic cells to characterize scattered chromatin and inconspicuous nucleoli. Immunohistochemical showed the tumor cells expressed CD20, PAX5, CD79a and CD10, BCL6, FOXP-1, which were limited in germinal center; Ki-67 was highly expressed in germinal center. CD21 and CD23 showed nodular and expanded follicular dendritic cells. Immunoglobulin gene rearrangement was positive for IGH and IGK. The two patients underwent surgical resection with no complications. After discharge, the two patients with a close review for 18 mo and 5 mo respectively and showed no evidence of recurrence.
CONCLUSION PTFL in adult is generally supposed to be extremely rare. PTFL displayed characteristic morphological, immunophenotypic, and molecular biological changes which are a kind of neoplasm with satisfactory prognosis after surgical excision.

Abstract
Lymphoid malignancies are a broad and heterogeneous group of neoplasms. In the past decade, the genetic landscape of these tumors has been explored and cataloged in fine detail offering a glimpse into the mechanisms of lymphomagenesis and new opportunities to translate these findings into patient management. A myriad of studies have demonstrated both distinctive and overlapping molecular and chromosomal abnormalities that have influenced the diagnosis and classification of lymphoma, disease prognosis, and treatment selection.

Abstract
Lymphadenitis in the pediatric population frequently is benign and self-limited, often caused by infections. In children with refractory symptoms, lymph node biopsy may be indicated to rule out malignancy or obtain material for culture. Acute bacterial infections typically show a suppurative pattern of necrosis with abscess formation. Viral infections are associated with nonspecific follicular and/or paracortical hyperplasia. Granulomatous inflammation is associated with bacterial, mycobacterial, and fungal infections. Toxoplasma lymphadenitis displays follicular hyperplasia, monocytoid B-cell hyperplasia, and clusters of epithelioid histiocytes. Autoimmune and noninfectious inflammatory disorders are included in differential diagnosis of lymphadenitis. Infectious mononucleosis and Kikuchi-Fujimoto lymphadenitis may mimic Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphomas.

Abstract
After acute leukemia and brain and central nervous system tumors, mature lymphomas represent the third most common cancer in pediatric patients. Non-Hodgkin lymphoma accounts for approximately 60% of lymphoma diagnoses in children, with the remainder representing Hodgkin lymphoma. Among non-Hodgkin lymphomas in pediatric patients, aggressive lymphomas, such as Burkitt lymphoma, diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, and anaplastic large cell lymphoma, predominate. This article summarizes the epidemiologic, histopathologic, and molecular features of selected mature systemic B-cell and T-cell lymphomas encountered in this age group.

Abstract
Transcriptome differences between Hodgkin's lymphoma (HL), diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), and mantle cell lymphoma (MCL), which are all derived from B cell, remained unclear. This study aimed to construct lymphoma-specific diagnostic models by screening lymphoma marker genes. Transcriptome data of HL, DLBCL, and MCL were obtained from public databases. Lymphoma marker genes were screened by comparing cases and controls as well as the intergroup differences among lymphomas. A total of 9 HL marker genes, 7 DLBCL marker genes, and 4 MCL marker genes were screened in this study. Most HL marker genes were upregulated, whereas DLBCL and MCL marker genes were downregulated compared to controls. The optimal HL-specific diagnostic model contains one marker gene (MYH2) with an AUC of 0.901. The optimal DLBCL-specific diagnostic model contains 7 marker genes (LIPF, CCDC144B, PRO2964, PHF1, SFTPA2, NTS, and HP) with an AUC of 0.951. The optimal MCL-specific diagnostic model contains 3 marker genes (IGLV3-19, IGKV4-1, and PRB3) with an AUC of 0.843. The present study reveals the transcriptome data-based differences between HL, DLBCL, and MCL, when combined with other clinical markers, may help the clinical diagnosis and prognosis.

Abstract
The revised fourth edition of the World Health Organization (WHO) Classification of Tumours of Haematopoietic and Lymphoid Tissues (2017) reflects significant advances in understanding the biology, genetic basis and behaviour of haematopoietic neoplasms. This review focuses on some of the major changes in B-cell and T-cell non-Hodgkin lymphomas in the 2017 WHO and includes more recent updates. The 2017 WHO saw a shift towards conservatism in the classification of precursor lesions of small B-cell lymphomas such as monoclonal B-cell lymphocytosis, in situ follicular and in situ mantle cell neoplasms. With more widespread use of next generation sequencing (NGS), special entities within follicular lymphoma and mantle cell lymphoma were recognised with recurrent genetic aberrations and unique clinicopathological features. The diagnostic workup of lymphoplasmacytic lymphoma and hairy cell leukaemia has been refined with the discovery of MYD88 L265P and BRAF V600E mutations, respectively, in these entities. Recommendations in the immunohistochemical evaluation of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma include determining cell of origin and expression of MYC and BCL2, so called 'double-expressor' phenotype. EBV-positive large B-cell lymphoma of the elderly has been renamed to recognise its occurrence amongst a wider age group. EBV-positive mucocutaneous ulcer is a newly recognised entity with indolent clinical behaviour that occurs in the setting of immunosuppression. Two lymphomas with recurrent genetic aberrations are newly included provisional entities: Burkitt-like lymphoma with 11q aberration and large B-cell lymphoma with IRF4 rearrangement. Aggressive B-cell lymphomas with MYC, BCL2 and/or BCL6 rearrangements, so called 'double-hit/triple-hit' lymphomas are now a distinct entity. Much progress has been made in understanding intestinal T-cell lymphomas. Enteropathy-associated T-cell lymphoma, type II, is now known to not be associated with coeliac disease and is hence renamed monomorphic epitheliotropic T-cell lymphoma. An indolent clonal T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder of the GI tract is a newly included provisional entity. Angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma and nodal T-cell lymphomas with T-follicular helper phenotype are included in a single broad category, emphasising their shared genetic and phenotypic features. Anaplastic large cell lymphoma, ALK- is upgraded to a definitive entity with subsets carrying recurrent rearrangements in DUSP22 or TP63. Breast implant-associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma is a new provisional entity with indolent behaviour. Finally, cutaneous T-cell proliferations include a new provisional entity, primary cutaneous acral CD8-positive T-cell lymphoma, and reclassification of primary small/medium CD4-positive T-cell lymphoma as lymphoproliferative disorder.

Abstract
Lymphoid and histiocytic lesions of the head and neck in pediatric patients is a fascinating topic as most of these lesions are benign, but that the neoplastic cases are essential to diagnose accurately for appropriate treatment. It is thought that 90% of children will have palpable lymph nodes between the ages of 4 to 8; most, but not all, are non-malignant and some resolve spontaneously without treatment. This paper will look at many of the benign and malignant lesions of both lymphocytic and histiocytic origin that present in the head and neck of children focusing on their diagnostic criteria. There is a very pertinent discussion of nonmalignant lymphoid proliferations, as infections and other reactive conditions dominate the pathology of pediatric lymphohistiocytic head and neck lesions. Discussion of those lymphomas which arise more frequently in the head and neck focuses on those seen in children and young adults such as classic Hodgkin lymphoma and Burkitt lymphoma, as well as new more controversial entities such as pediatric-type follicular lymphoma. Histiocytic lesions, both benign and malignant, are described and may be challenging to diagnose.

Abstract
The diagnosis of lymphoma has evolved tremendously over time. Initially, diagnosis of lymphoma was largely based on morphology alone. Over time, immunophenotyping using flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry, and then in situ hybridization, have contributed dramatically to the pathologist's ability to recognize, diagnose and subclassify lymphomas more precisely. In recent years, cytogenetic and molecular genetic techniques have developed that allow evaluation of abnormalities in lymphomas, leading to an understanding of their pathogenesis and opening the door to targeted therapies that will lead to better outcomes for lymphoma patients.

Abstract
Follicular lymphoma (FL) is an indolent, mature B-cell neoplasm classically characterised by the t(14;18)(q32;q21) with constitutive overexpression of the anti-apoptotic protein, BCL2. Most cases present in older adults with slowly progressive lymphadenopathy and follow an indolent clinical course. Typical morphology shows an expansile follicular proliferation with tumour expression of germinal centre markers, and bone marrow involvement at diagnosis is frequent. However, in the recent past, efforts to understand the biological and clinical heterogeneity of FL has effected significant change to the diagnostic approach. While morphological grade, assessed by enumerating large 'centroblasts' in the neoplastic follicles, generally correlates with outcome in systemic nodal FL, variants with high-grade morphology but indolent clinical behaviour have been identified. Given the clinical implications of these FL variants, knowledge of their clinical and histopathological defining features is of paramount importance to the pathologist. Furthermore, as with many areas of diagnostic oncology, precursors to FL have been identified and described with measurable rates of progression to bona fide lymphoma. Accurate diagnosis of these early lesions can often prevent unnecessary therapy and guide appropriate monitoring for disease progression. This review aims to summarise these key pathological and diagnostic features of FL. We further highlight the biological underpinnings of FL that will likely affect the classification, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with lymphoma.
